BJ Rose (bjrose) | 811 comments Sara, I've got to tell you that I love seeing all these colorful colors! And I'll be writing down some titles for my wishlist once I get my tasks settled.

Now if I could just find someone to play Clue with!! That was one of my favorite games in high school years - I'd sit with girlfriends in somebody's bedroom playing for hours (until someone's mom would break it up!)

Those are both fine! I also added Rope Walk to the green cover list, too.

Katie wrote: "Is this one white enough? I swear it looks more white on my bookshelf than it does in this picture. :) Totally your call though, Sara.
Prep A Novel by Curtis Sittenfeld"

That's definitely white enough. Enjoy you two!

I love playing Clue, too... although I'm incapable of winning the game. I don't think I've EVER won... Seriously. (My mom and husband are both REALLY good! It's like they can read minds or something!) But I still really enjoy it.

Have you seen the movie? I wanted to make everyone watch it for this task, because it's soooo great, but I figured that might be pretty inconvenient for some people, or cost extra money, which no one needs right now... :)

OMG, it is my favorite movie ever! Back in the days of VHS, my husband and I actually wore out a video tape of this movie. Now that we have kids, they are practically memorizing it as well.

And, if it weren't already obvious, let me say what an AWESOME task this is! so creative and fun!

Sarah (Mood Reader) (bookworm1887) | 458 comments Do you have to read three books for this challenge?

message 120: by Sara ♥ (new)

Sara ♥ (saranicole) | 1114 comments Nope. One with a red/yellow/green/blue/purple/white cover and one with a weapon in the title. The third part is that one of those two books should be from a library—public, school, personal (i.e. a book you already own), or the like.

Thank you for clarifying! I was thinking three because you have the three parts of the puzzle, person, weapon and room.

Yes and yes. At first, I didn't think that cover was very blue, but I clicked on the big version, and it's bluer than I thought. May also be the angle my laptop screen is at, too... ;)

Usako (bbmeltdown) | 1256 comments Clue the movie is fantastic!!! I think people can watch it online off netflix. I forget if it's on hulu. But it's well WORTH the rental fee. I honestly should pick it up on DVD.

Tim Curry is fantastic! As are the other cast members. It's definitely straight out of the game. And the secret rooms! SQUEE! And multiple endings! YAY!

You can get it from Netflix, but you have to get the physical disc (as opposed to streaming it online). But I totally agree that it's worth the rental fee!!

Diane | 741 comments I'm a bit confused since there are three qualifiers and only two books required, so bear with me. Do these work?

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Harry Potter, #4) by J.K. Rowling
Is it green enough? It also has "fire" for the weapon. It also comes from my personal library.

and

Francesca's Kitchen by Peter Pezzelli . Is it enough that the word "kitchen" is in the book or does it also have to have a dominant color from the list? It, too, is from my personal library.

message 138: by Bridgit (new)

Bridgit | 505 comments Diane - there were only 2 tasks - color and weapon. THe room part was not a task. The only requirement for the room is that one of the two books be from a library ( your personal one is fine). So your last book wouldnt work because "Kitchen" has nothing to do with the task.

Yeah—what Bridget said (about the task and the kitchen). And no, I'd like the book to be more dominantly one color. Only about the top third of GoF is green. You COULD use it for the weapon portion of the task though.

I will admit that it only shows the dark green in bright light ( I noticed that when I walked out of the library with it) - somewhat like my friend's car that looks black at night but gleams a dark green in sunlight! I do have others I could use for this task, so I'll keep looking for other places to use this one. If nothing else, I can put it in my catch-all #30.3!

Bridget, thanks for the rec! I picked this up on recommendations from others, so am really looking forward to reading it.
