Jacob ran the back of his hand over Susannah's cheek. "Love you," he said.

"Love you too." Susannah said, slightly uncomfortable with being in a resturant, and saying it. It was still new to her.Caleb was trying not to upchuck. And it had nothing to do with how much he liked Susannah, because he would have had that reaction to anyone. He was not a romantic of any kind.
Even though Jacob was there he still had Quil there to keep look out. Quil came in and came over to Jake, "Kahlan," he muttered. "I'll be back in a minute," Jacob said standing up.
"Ok." Susannah said."See you when you get back." Zach said.
Caleb just sat there, courious despite himself.
Jacob went outside and saw Kahlan a few yards away. He went up to her and put his hands on her shoulders. "Kahlan please stop this," he begged, "this isn't Susannah's fault and I really still love you."
"So, guys...do you remember the biology homework?" Zach asked.
Kahlan glared and shook Jacob's hands off. "No! She can't have you! You are my boyfriend!"
"I think it was to write a one page report on mitosis." Caleb said."Ok, thanks." Zach said.
"Quil," Jacob said, "help me out here." Quil grabbed Kahlan and pulled her into the woods and pulled her towards the reservation.
Jacob went back inside and sat back down beside Susannah.
"I honestly don't know," Jacob said.
"Why? What's wrong?" Susannah asked, concerned.
"Oh." Susannah said, not really wanting to talk about that subject, so she didn't ask anything else.
"Who's Kahlan?" Caleb asked. Why had Susannah dropped the subject as soon as her name came up, he wondered.((G2G 'night))
{{kk bye}}"The girl I dated before Susannah," Jacob said not wanting to say ex because he wasn't sure if it was true.
Caleb nodded. Why would she be here? he thought. Then he thought, Oh, well
A few moments later the food came and Jacob chowed down, and was the first one done even with the biggest meal.
Zach finished 2nd, and Caleb 3rd. Susannah finished 4th.
Rebecca finished last and leaned back in her chair. "Well that was satisfying," she said."Speak for yourself," Jacob said. "I'm still hungry."
"How can you still be hungry?" Caleb asked in surprise, momentarily forgetting that he didnt really like Jacob.
"It's part of my biological make up," Jacob said.
"Biological makeup? Ok, whatever." Caleb said, not completely undertanding, but decideing it better to let the subject drop.
"Just like my feelings for Susannah," he said absent mindedly while looking into her eyes. "It's like loving her is part of my DNA."
Caleb's momentary lapse in where Jacob's and his relationship stood shut down, and he was left thinking, Give me a break, wanna be romeo.Susannah couldn't help but smile.
Jacob smiled too and kissed Susannah softly."Awww," Rebecca said, and jacob chuckled a little his smile widening.
Susannah smiled wider, her eyes shinning.Caleb saw, and seriously considered giving up his fight with Jacob.
Jacob then remembered Kahlan and decided that he better go check on the situation. "I'll be right back," he said getting up and heading outside.
Caleb then glanced at Rebecca, and thought about giving up his grudge with her too....
Jacob saw Quil in human form and went up to him. "Where's Kahlan?" He asked."Not sure," Quil said, "she took off after I pulled her into the woods."
"Did she say anything?"
"I think she said something like 'the b****'s house.'"
Jacob went in to security overdrive. "Make sure you stay with Susannah," he said. "I should be back in 10 minutes, if not go in, give then this," he handed Quil a 20, "and tell them I had a family emergency." Quil nodded. THen Jake bolted to his car and drove to Susannah's house.
Caleb nodded to himself, then looked at Rebecca. "Rebecca?" he said.
"Um, about what happened the other day...I just want to say sorry for completely freaking out. I was still...scared." he admitted, "but I'm over it now, and I accept your apology."
"Thanks," Rebecca said, "and you were completely right for freaking out, I would probably have reacted the same way."
"I told you he would get over it." Zach whispered to Rebecca, happier about it than he'd thought he'd be.
Jacob pulled up in front of Susannah's house and saw a silhouette pass her window. He climbed the tree in front and got the window to open. The moment he was inside Kahlan grabbed his wrist, twisted it around behind his back, and pushed him down onto his knees. Jacob cried out quietly."Well if it isn't my unfaithful boyfriend," Kahlan hissed in his ear.
"Kahlan please just stop," Jacob said. "Please leave Susannah alone, she had no control over this,and..." kahlan twisted his arm harder.
Jacob groaned in pain.
"Stop defending her," she said.

Quil wen inside the restaurant and found the table. "Hey Jakes real sorry, but he had a family emergency and had to go," he said. "But he asked me to give this to you guys for what he ordered." He handed Susannah the 20.
Susannah looked up, "What are you doing here?" she asked. "Who is he?" Zach asked
"A werewolf." Susannah whispered too quiet for Rebecca or Caleb to hear, but loud enough for Zach to hear.
"Just what I said," Quil said. "Doing Jake a favor." He sort of emphasized the second part trying to hint that he was on the guard shift.
"Ok." Susannah said."Do you know what happened?" Zach asked Quil.

"Um... yeah," Quil said. "But I'm not really supposed to say."
"Ok, well, tell him bye for me." Zach said.
Quil nodded then left.**********
Jacob struggled against Kahlans grip and every time he did her grip became tighter.
"So, what else do we need to do at this resturant? Because my mom expects me home in..." Caleb looked at his watch. "15 minutes."
Caleb put $15 dollars on the table for his $13.99 meal, to include tax, and stood. "Ok, well this has been fun, but I really have to go." and with that he all but ran out of the resturant. If he was a second late, his mom would kill him.
"How are you getting home?" Rebecca asked Susannah.
Susannah shrugged. "I can walk." she said.
"I'll give you a ride," Rebecca offerded.
