Mary Simonsen (maryts) | 1 comments I am both writer and reader of mysteries. I'm a big fan of British police procedurals and enjoy Peter Robinson and Elizabeth George, among many others. I've recently written my first mystery, Three's A Crowd, featuring a detective sergeant with London's Metropolitan police. It's good to meet fellow mystery lovers. BTW, I'm also the author of what is known as Jane Austen re-imaginings. My publisher is Sourcebooks.

Crystal Lee (crystalleeauthor) | 12 comments Hello there,
I'm Crystal and I'm both a reader and a writer. I love so many different genres it's hard to pick my favorite, but right now I'm really in love with scifi romance but a few months ago I was obsessing over historic fics (wrote a Henry VIII series from his perspective where he's the victim). I read and write the following:
scifi romance (just published at beginning of July the first of 6 books in my Canopy series)
historical fiction
contemporary romance
non-fiction: gardening (just published last week an organic gardening book for Phoenix gardeners and I teach local classes), breastfeeding (I'm an IBCLC and LLL leader) and pregnancy/childbirth (was a Bradley instructor for a decade).

I've been finding new scifi romance books to read and joined a challenge to read 15 of them before the end of the year. I've probably read over 100 breastfeeding and childbirthing books.

I love reading and writing so I'm excited to be on Goodreads to talk to other readers and writers. Is there anything better than having somebody to talk to about a book you love (or hate)? It's so thrilling.

I'm hoping to get some readers for my book Canopy soon and some reviews but still learning how to market it.

Thank you for your time.

Hi my name is Courtney, I'm an author on goodreads. The first book of the Girl Guide series, Girl Guide: 200+ Tips For High School Survival, is now available on amazon kindle and lulu.com. It's a guide for teen girls entering or continuing their high school education. It offers tips from decoding dudes to primping for prom. There are also sections on building self esteem, how to handle peer pressure, and a few pop quizzes. Because it wouldn't be high school without pop quiizes

Crystal Lee (crystalleeauthor) | 12 comments I love how varied this group is. We have people from all over the world and writers in different genres, and readers that I admire! I'm already loving this group so much.

I've been a big ol'd nerd by taking notes for when I write my review of Heart Mate (the first book I read based on this group's recs). Hee hee! I warn you though--it will be a looooong ol' review!

Michael Atencio (michael_atencio) Hello, I'm Michael Atencio and I'm a rebel author. Okay, I don't wear warpaint and scream rebel yells or whistle ole Dixie. I came up with a new way of publishing novels by self publishing. You say that it's not new? You're right, but my business plan is. The first half requires me to write well, edit and correct ALL of the mistakes. Ask anyone downloading a self published novel and they'll say that editing is the biggest downfall of self publishing. Not with my novels. I write novels that are well written and I'm against the 60,000 + word limits publishers demand. Louis Lamour and Ian Fleming didn't write that much because he couldn't release more than a couple of books a year if he did. The second part of my business plan is top secret but it does entail writing many novellas in an ongoing series. I want to release several books a year, not one or two. I write for my readers, not my publishers. Now you know about me. I release my work through Amazon.com's KDP select and Smashwords.com When I become well established enough to sell from my website, then I'll cut the middlemen and sell direct saving my readers more money. The first of my new series is Parker Steele - Murder by Cop. It's a police procedural / thriller / action adventure with a slight paranormal twist. As an ex-cop, I've had real paranormal experiences on the job. My novels reflect those. Have a question? Ask away.

Andrew Weaver (goodreadscomandrew_weaver) | 5 comments Hello to you all,

My name is Andrew Weaver, I recently joined goodreads, and a few weeks ago I finally published a book that I wrote…10 years ago!!!
I am currently living in the United Kingdom and I enjoy reading a wide variety of books. In my younger years I was heavily influenced by a lot of Science Fiction – I even went to the same school as H.G. Wells.

My new book called Martin has been for sale through the Kindle store for a few weeks now and I have already received some very positive feedback. Interestingly, several readers have told me their version of how they thought the book ends, and they are all different to how I imagined it – maybe they were just as confused as the main character was!

My book is currently available through Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Martin-ebook/......

You can keep up to date with further news on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/Martin.8008

I am looking forward to discovering and getting involved with this group as well as other parts of goodreads.

Eric Collins (eric_collins) | 2 comments Hi everyone,
I'm a new author and a new member here. I'm hoping to learn from the veterans, and maybe someday I'll be one. I recently self-published my first book (CreateSpace, Kindle, Smashwords). Now that I've gone through the writing, editing, publishing process, I'm busily trying to understand marketing. It will come I guess. My book is a thriller/crime novel called The Testing Point and until the end of the month is available free as an e-book by means of a coupon available on Smashwords. https://www.smashwords.com/books/view...
It's also offered here on GR in the giveaway program.
Eric
