Thanks for the welcome, Miles. I'd also like to wish you, and all my fellow goodreads authors, much success with their writing :-)

Kim McMahill | 24 comments Hello – I’m new to the group and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Kim McMahill and I’m originally from Wyoming, but I’ve lived in many wonderful places in the U.S. and currently reside along the unpredictable banks of the Missouri River. I’ve always loved adventure, whether I live it, read about it or write about it, though my definition of adventure is broad (see Embrace Adventure at http://kimmcmahill.blogspot.com). I’ve published five novels (mostly romantic adventures/suspense), one non-fiction book, over eighty travel and geographic articles, and contributed to a travel anthology.

Lisa Moon (lisa_lewis_moon) | 5 comments Hello. I am new here. Enjoying myself. The Genesis song HOME BY THE SEA was the inspiration for my first novel House on Butcher Harbor. I loved the song and always thought it would make a great book, so I wrote one. I have also written two childrens books with my son when he was five. He is in college now!

Hi Mike and Cherokee, fellow co-authors! I'm new here too and am the Lambert half of the Lambert Nagle writing team who are here with our first thriller. We are Alison Ripley Cubitt and Sean Cubitt and although this is our first venture into indie publishing we have, between us, over ten books and a screenplay published by mainstream publishers.

We are serial relocators and have lived in Malaysia (Alison), Canada (Sean), New Zealand, Australia. We are dual UK/NZ citizens and recently moved to Hampshire in the UK.

message 2966: by Jenelle (new)

Jenelle Hello all. My name is Jenelle Schmidt and I'm pretty new to goodreads in general (and feeling a mite overwhelmed), but saw this group and it seemed like a good place to start. I currently reside in NC, but my heart is in the mid-West where I grew up. I've recently published my first book King's Warrior, the first in a completed 4-book fantasy adventure series. After participating in the annual ABNA contest, I wanted to find another forum for meeting other authors, as we're an interesting bunch!

Welcome Jenelle,

Goodread is a pretty welcoming community. I hope you enjoy it here. I have taken the time to read your book summary. It seems quite solid. A great fantasy book. If you are interested you can find my blog here: www.bookmark-reviews.blogspot.com
I review mostly YA Fantasy/dystopian/sci-fi

Welcome to the community, I hope you get to know your way around here and meet many people :D

Jenelle Thanks for the welcome, Nic!

You have a very nice blog. I'll have to click around on it and read more. I enjoyed your review of Mere Enchantment but what I especially liked was that you gave a shout-out to the cover artist. It is such an important part of the book, and often the part that gets very little credit. Having worked with my sister-in-law on the cover for my book (she did most of the work, of course, as I am not an artist) I definitely look at covers differently now, taking note of particularly good ones and looking for the "cover art by" line.

message 2969: by Kent (new)

Kent Raju (kentraju) | 9 comments First of all, I'm honored to be in such a great community here.
My name is Kent Raju and I have written two books to date. The first one was about the backstages of advertising industry (being creative director in one ad agency myself). But since the second one was published just today as en e-book in Amazon, I am most excited about that. It's a sci-fi comedy called "The Known Universe: Lost Earth" and I believe it is both funny and has some edge to it.
More info, including a trailer can be found at www.knownuniversebook.com

Thank you
Kent

Marc Nash (sulci) | 754 comments Hi I'm Marc Nash an author living in London. I'm only really just active in Goodreads and still finding my way round. I've written 4 books out on kindle, 2 novels and 2 anthologies of flash fiction. As a writer I also devour books myself. I don't write genre fiction, so I suppose it's literary fiction, though I don't really like that tag. To me it's all just fiction! My novels celebrate language and ideas. Would love some reader views and reviews and dialogue!

Thanks for having me here

Hello Group :)

I'm new(ish) to the Goodreads site and, in general, I love reading all genres. Although my faves are suspense, fantasy, and horror.
I'm also new to the publishing world. I released my first book in May and in a couple of weeks my second will be out.
I've joined Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest. I'm a bit scattered but loving every minute of it!

My name is MB Brophy. I'm just putting the finishing touches on a mystery novel, and I hope to have it available as an ebook in the next month or so. There's a sample chapter on my website if anyone wants to take a peek.

I'm also something of a mystery novel junkie, so I'm definitely writing what I love to read.

message 2989: by Duane (new)

Duane Gundrum (sarbonn) | 5 comments Hi. My name is Duane, and I've been a writer most of my adult life (and a few years beyond that as well). For years, I was mostly a mentor/writer, in that I spent much of my pursuit of writing trying to help others with their own writing. I am proud to say that I managed to get a few people on the right track (some others, not as well as I'd hoped).

These days, I'm mostly a solitary writer, and even though I disappeared from the writing community for some time, I've started to create new works. Previously, I had 13 novels beneath my belt; my goal is to reinvent my process of writing and finally achieve something of which I might one day be truly proud.

Anyway, my genres stretch the spectrum, and my latest novel is humor, while the previous one was suspense.

Andrea Gerber (andrea_gerber) | 5 comments Hi all! I'm Andrea, author of The Tabitha Hale Saga. I am a mommy and wife by day and a novelist by night. I am the keeper of cheerios and welder of words.

I acquired an agent a couple months ago and we are now in the publishing process which is all very exciting considering I didn't know I wanted to be an author until a year ago. ;)

I'm an avid reader and by avid I mean that I devour books, usually one or two in a day. I recently just finished Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instrument Series, but my all time favorite author is David Eddings.

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Hello All!

My name is Brent McCay. In May I had my first book published which is now available in ebook form on most distributors, Kindle, Nook, and iPad. The book is the true story of my journey from fundamentalist, conservative pastor to a left-leaning liberal. http://www.amazon.com/Confessions-Her...

I am currently working on my first novel, and I am reading 4 different books right now. Thank you for letting me join the group, and I look forward to getting to know you all.

Brent

JoAnn Hague (JoAnnHague) Hello, Brent! I am grabbing your CONFESSIONS right now off Amazon. I am a Christian and an author (DANCING THROUGH FIRE) who is struggling with the legalistic diatribes of some conservative Christians. I find that reading (and rereading and re-rereading) the Bible helps me put all in perspective. I look forward to learning about your journey from faith to faith.

Thomas Watson | 78 comments Greetings, all! My name is Thomas Watson. I like the way that looks on a book cover, but willingly answer to either Tom or Thomas. I am the author, so far, of two books. Mr Olcott's Skies is a brief memoir about my life as an amateur astronomer. The Luck of Han'anga is a science fiction novel, the first of a series. There will be more about both of them in the proper folders in a little while.

I live in Tucson, AZ USA, a place I came to in order to complete a degree in plant biology. My wife and I found the town such a good fit we never left. I came to the Southwest originally from a small town in north central Illinois, where I spent my childhood learning about nature and books, and falling in love with the night sky.

I'm currently looking for work in this awkward economy, but taking advantage of the time on my hands to get a lot of writing done.

Look forward to being a part of this group!
