Introduce Yourself!
Hello Readers and Authors! My name is Gary Lloyd Noland. My pen name is Dolly Gray Landon. I am in the process of learning how to navigate my way around Goodreads, so please forgive my awkwardness if I am missing any of the standard protocols. The other three books are collections of my piano and chamber music. At the moment I am seeking readers for my latest novel, which is available at a discount for pre-order on Amazon: https://a.co/d/bGbwxRu

Hello, everyone! My name is Donna Strong, and I’m thrilled to join this community of authors. I am publishing my first book, Toss the Rocks and Get on With It!, which will be available in late January. The book focuses on helping people let go of the burdens from their past to live a more joyful and fulfilling life. The inspiration for my book came from a deeply personal journey, and my mission is to empower others to move beyond their challenges and create a future they love. My professional background includes 30 years at IBM in sales, marketing, and training, where I developed a passion for helping people reach their full potential. Today, I channel that passion into coaching, speaking, and writing.

Hi Nola,
Best of luck to you from one new writer to another. Honestly, the only part of your book description that would appeal to me is the "billionaires" part, so I can't help you out by reading a copy. But, I'm sure there are plenty of readers who would find the friends to enemies' romance genre to be right up their alley. Congratulations on your (first?) book.
Hello everyone, I'm Arthur Mills. I'm a writer in desperate need. For over a year, I’ve been visited by lost souls—spirits taken by an evil entity I call Candle Face. They come to me not with anger, but with desperation, pleading for someone to tell their stories and help them find peace. These are real testimonies from those who once lived, loved, and were cruelly taken from this world.I’ve been documenting their stories in the hope of freeing them, but I can’t do it alone. The task is overwhelming. Their voices are fading, and their time is running out. I need your help to bring their suffering to light, solve their cases, and grant these lost souls the peace they deserve.
If you believe in compassion, in standing up for those who can no longer fight for themselves, I’m asking for your help. Together, we can give these souls the peace they’ve been searching for. Will you join me?
Arthur

Hello, Goodreads Community and Jona Leigh!I’m thrilled to welcome Jona Leigh, a new author to our ever-growing family of storytellers. It’s always inspiring to see another creative voice joining the journey of sharing stories that spark imagination and touch hearts. Jona, your arrival reminds me of the time when I first decided to put my ideas into words and bring Alex and Mr. Owl to life.
For those who don’t know me yet, I’m A.J. Wise, author of Alex’s Enchanted Forest Journey. My passion for storytelling grew from a deep love for nature and its wonders, combined with a desire to create magical adventures that inspire curiosity and respect for the natural world. The journey to publishing my first book has been nothing short of extraordinary—filled with lessons, challenges, and the joy of connecting with readers young and old.
My story follows Alex, a curious 7-year-old adventurer, and his wise companion, Mr. Owl, as they explore the forest’s secrets. Each chapter is a celebration of discovery, courage, and the interconnected beauty of life, themes that I hope resonate with readers as deeply as they have with me.
Jona, as you begin your author’s journey, my biggest advice is to enjoy every step of the process. Celebrate your milestones, no matter how small, and never underestimate the impact your stories might have on someone’s life.
To readers and fellow writers here, let’s continue supporting each other in this incredible community. If you’re curious about Alex and Mr. Owl’s adventures or want to share your own stories, I’d love to connect.
Welcome, Jona! Here’s to your success and many wonderful tales ahead.
Warm wishes,
A.J. Wise
Hi, I'm Steve, a virgin author looking for reviewers of my book, a cross between a biog and thriller about a burglar. Let me know if this sounds interesting :)

I am completely new to Goodreads, just beginning to get used to it. So hello folks, I am Nigel, I live in North Shields, which is basically Newcastle on Sea, in the North East of England. I read a lot, in the way that most people watch TV or stare at their phones these days. I can't live without music, and I can't live without books. I also write, which is why I ended up being pointed in the direction of Goodreads, as a way to mix in with other people with a love of books. I need some opinions on what exactly it is that I have written, but that is for another discussion.I started writing about 15 years ago when I was going through a tough time. My doctor advised me to spend some time away from work, but knowing that this could actually make things worse, he advised taking just one day off every week, and doing something totally different. Having always enjoyed writing in one way or another, I had a go at writing a novel. As a way to relax and distance yourself from possibly unpleasant times, it is even better than reading. I am still writing, and it still works as relaxing escapism.
As part of scratching my head & wanting a much wider view of the world of books I ended up finding Goodreads, and I only wish I had done so years ago. So many times I have been stuck with no idea about what I would like to read next, and now I have discovered this place where I can just dive in and ask people who also love reading. I can also get some help with my writing, because that one novel turned into a series of seven, and now I am fortunate to have the time to begin the laborious task of publishing them, which is something entirely new to me. I could certainly do with a bit of help, well opinions really, and this looks like a good place to find people who can give a little advice.
What I like to read varies from time to time. At the moment I am enjoying historical fiction, from Matthew Harffy with his sword waving warriors of Northumbria, to Lesley Davis in First Century Rome, or more up to date with Rory Clements in nineteen forties England. My favourite book of all time is not one book but a trilogy, starting with Ring of Bright Water by Gavin Maxwell, possibly holding the all-time record for the best book that ever spawned the worst film. To set up my Goodreads profile I reviewed books that I have really enjoyed, and was amazed to find that another of my favourites, Testament by John Romer, has not fallen into obscurity and is being read by a few people on here right now.
So that is me saying hello. I am not likely to be the most prolific poster on here, I imagine I will be more of a reader than a contributor, but you never know. Goodreads looks like a tremendous resource for anybody who enjoys reading, and I still cannot believe that I have not looked at it before. I am already sorted with the next two books in my queue thanks to Goodreads, so a big thank you to those who keep all this going for the rest of us.
Hello! I am a passionate romance novelist whose heart beats for stories that spark desire and adventure. With dozens of unpublished tales hidden away on my computer, I have finally embraced the thrilling journey of sharing my passion with the world. My debut novel, "Bratva Rising: A Sinful Alliance", is not just a book; it’s a culmination of my dreams, and I couldn’t be prouder!https://dariagreyauthor.com/
Armed with a BA in English/Creative Writing and a Master of Library Science, I have spent years nurturing my love for words as a dedicated librarian. When I'm not busy helping others find their next favorite read, you’ll find me curled up with a good book, dreaming up new romantic escapades or plotting my next big story.
I have chosen to dive into the world of mafia romance because it blends elements of danger, intrigue, and passion, allowing me to explore complex characters and intense relationships. The allure of the underworld offers a rich backdrop for stories where love can blossom amidst chaos, making each romantic connection feel all the more thrilling.
I believe in the magic of stories and the power they have to connect us. My journey from librarian to author has been as exhilarating as any romance I write, and I can’t wait to share my adventures with fellow book lovers!
New in Non-Fiction - I recently finished a book called Nondual Chakra Awakening: A Hero’s Journey to Healing Relationship Injury in Seven Holographic Stages. This book is not only deeply philosophical and psychological (bringing psychology, spirituality, and quantum physics together); it is also explicitly practical. It is a well-written, easy to understand, and full of practical exercises. It is unlike any chakra book you have ever read. It may be the best book on the subject. I am open to questions and am seeking reviews. Message me if you are interested in an author review copy. My name is Anita Boisvert, the author of my debut book, Her Secret Odyssey, Josee’s Magical Adventure. Writing this story was the simplest part. Learning how to write it in the language of an 8 to 12 year old, was harder, and going through the self-published process was extremely challenging. But I did it and I feel good about it.It’s fiction with fantasy. A way of approaching a discussion about children’s fears and anxieties, parent-child relationships, and looking at the whole child, physical, mental, and emotional.
Serious topics embedded into a heart warming story of a young girl’s adventure to regain her health and self esteem.
It’s listed here on Goodreads, with more about my book and me.
Glad to have this opportunity to join your group.

Hi everyone, I’m Dave, I’m an author of one novel and although my underlying motive for being here is to raise my profile and get read, I won’t be constantly banging on about my book; it’s linked on my author page if anyone is curious.I’m hoping to raise my profile by making friends, chatting and blogging. My blog is about writing a book; from motivations through to promoting and beyond. It may sound a little dry but I'll be having some fun with it and hopefully some members will find it entertaining.
"Hello, my name is Tania. I've always found joy in creating stories, and it's been a lifelong dream of mine to bring these tales to life in books that I can share with others. Writer's block has never been my challenge—finding the time to write is the real hurdle! I'm currently working on three more books and specialize in writing PG romance. I’ll admit, I don’t yet have the courage to venture into steamier genres, but I have so much fun crafting my stories. When I write, I feel like I step into my characters' world and live their lives alongside them. It’s truly a magical experience." I hope you enjoy reading my Novella!Tania Lee OrtizJaney & Quinn: A Trudy Township Novella

Hi everyone---I am an novelist and was glad to find this group. My tenth novel, Until It Was Gone, was released by Black Rose Writing on 12/12. Am busy with marketing. Not my strong suit. I am retired. Was a Presbyterian minister many decades ago, then switched to mental health work. Was a licensed marriage and family therapist. I worked in community mental health, continuing treatment, school based free clinic. My longest tenure was as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Family Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. In psychiatry I directed the family therapy training program. In family medicine, I worked in a residency program doing clinical work, teaching interviewing, observing residents providing care, some research. Main focus was the development of a small field called medical family therapy. I did considerable academic writing including two co-authored books. My background has influenced my fiction. My novels revolve around how families that are struggling cope with the day to day stresses and strains of life. Particularly interested in death, grief, other forms of loss, time, uncertainty, resilience, hope, and what love looks like in families that are aching.

Greetings!I'm Josh Jackson, a Pacific Northwest-based author. I don't specialize in any genre, but there's always time to find a niche.
So far I've published two books in 2024, which were my first!
In early fall I released "There's Always Ants" which is an outdoors-themed nonfiction book based on my YouTube channel, "Always Ants."
Then in December I sent out "Don't Go Outdoors" which is too new to appear here just yet. It's also set in the outdoors, but this time it's a collection of scary, dark fiction stories.
I'm always working on something or another, and my next project will likely be published in the first months of 2025.
I've been at this since age 13 but only now have I given it a proper go. It's thrilling, exciting, a bit scary, but pretty awesome. Thanks for having me, everyone and I look forward to meeting some good people and having some good times!
Hi, I enjoyed reading all your introductions. My name is Margaret Brownley and my new book "Jury Duty is Murder", written under my pen name Kate Damon, will be published January 8th.
I usually write Western historical romances, so this is different for me. It's a cozy mystery.
I'm a long-time Elvis fan but, contrary to what my husband believes, I had nothing to do with the pub date being on the King's birthday.

HiI read a book a week and like nothing better. I also published a novel in 2024 called The Deposits. The Deposits.
This debut novel will have you pondering your attachment to physical objects and how these hold unexplainable power to connect you with others...have you considering how your energy and actions ripple across social divides and age differences, influencing more than you could imagine..

Greetings authors and readers! I'm Oliver Dowson, retired from a life in business and now an author, reader and avid traveller and cook! My first passion is travel - I've visited 150 countries for business and pleasure - and, now that I've caught the writing bug, I like to build my travel experiences into my novels.
I have published four books. The first, There's No Business Like International Business: Business Travel – But Not As You Know It is a travelogue of sorts, recounting anecdotes from some of my business travel experiences.
As it was so well received, I started a series of novels - stories of a team undertaking industrial espionage internationally. There are thrills, indeed, but they're relatively light-hearted and intended to be entertaining. The latest was published in October 2024. If you'd like to check them out, here they are:
The Repurposed Spy
Spies on Safari:
Spies on the Silk Road: Following in the footsteps of Marco Polo, in pursuit of thieves and black marketeers
I also read a lot from a wide range of authors - and try to review them all. I've not caught up this year, so although Goodreads says I've read 23, the tally is more like 50, and I'm adding reviews most days now.
I look forward to contributing to the group and would be more than happy to engage in discussions with any members about my own books.
I also have an author website, oliverdowson dot com
