Goodreads Authors/Readers discussion
Introduce Yourself!
I'm Allison. Currently working on my first fiction novel. I am hoping to connect with other authors/writing especially those who write books where the characters have elemental magic/powers. I am also a reader, beta reader and arc reader. I am mostly into action, adventure, mystery/detective stories. I am not into books where than main genre is romance and where there are a lot of killings/death. Hope we can connect.

I love collecting special copies of books and merchandise from books. I love entering writing contests and I strive to write my own books some day. I am quite active on Goodreads and I love trying to complete the reading challenge (for me 250 books)! I look forward to chatting with you all!
Glad to be a part here. Been writing since my teens, mostly sci-fi works. My new sci-fantasy book "Lore of the Purple Pan" asks the question "what if Peter was not the only Pan?" I made sure to vet the material with the Great Ormand Street Childrens Hospital (the holders of the Pan copyright in the UK) to be sure the series did not violate copyright holdings. Glad to interact with fans.

Hi! I’m Sarah Catherine. I’m 19 years old and I’m from Canada. I am writer, well I hope to be. It has been my dreams since I have been little. I’m searching for friends that like to read and try new things so they could read my book and criticize it with me. My books is called Clouds. It is already available on Amazon. I’ve been trying to make TikTok but they are not very good because technology is not my strength.
I am more like old times. I have been writing to escape hard times in my life when I was little, and I guess that it got stuck with me when the only way for me to express how I feel is by writing.
For me writing feel like I’m flying and living in different worlds. Or when I write, I feel like I’m living the dream lives that I always wanted to live. Somehow, it makes my lungs clearer and my mind at peace.
Anyway, that’s me. Feel free to add me or chat with me if you want. Here’s my email, sarahcatherine.roy@hotmail.com or you can text me on Goodreads. I am very friendly!
Have a great day y’all
Is it true that an author is a host or hostess? The reader a guest to be introduced to intriguing companions as the voyage begins? And the voyage itself rewarding so the reader-guest welcomes and accepts the next invitation? That linkage stays with me as my readers time-travel to the Gilded Age in "The Val and Roddy DeVere Gilded Age Series," featuring a sleuthing married couple who first protect a good friend from a murderer in elegant Newport, 1898. The months ahead find the couple called upon to solve crimes that baffle the police--though they themselves come under suspicion. This western silver heiress and her East Coast gentleman hubby give the reader helpings of adventure, romance, and a voyage to another era that might mirror our own.

Hello, my name is Lance Wiese. I am a new author as of just the beginning on this month! I just published my first book, The Game Within, about how gaming helped me cope with personal struggles and discover inner strength. Would love your thoughts!”
Hi everyone! My name is Derek, and I grew up in Jenkins, barely a dot on the map in the Appalachian Mountain region of Kentucky. My Pops was a coalminer for 20 years, and we lost him five years ago to cancer. As we approached the five-year mark in August, it inspired me to write my first novel, which I published in June.I was a Kentucky State Trooper, where I worked the road for 17 years before moving to the Governor's Executive Security Detail for the last seven years until I retired in 2017. I recently re-entered law enforcement as a Deputy Sheriff in the School Resource Officer position. I had tried the Postal Service for about three years, but with the recent school shootings across the country, I wanted to help protect the ones who cannot protect themselves from the evil that lurks in society.
I'm always glad to find groups of like-minded folks when it comes to the things that interest me. I started reading post-apocalyptic stuff a couple of years ago and love finding new scenarios for survival. I enjoy reading works by Sam J Fires and Kyla Stone, as well as a number of other authors in the genre.
When I'm not working on my writing projects, I enjoy riding my Harley through horse farm country in central KY, watching my Steelers and Cornhuskers play on weekends, and I love playing Call of Duty and a few other games on my PS5.
My book is set in the backdrop where my dad worked for so long underground, and Dale is modeled after him. I hadn't read much in the genre that was set in the mountains, except for a series set in TN. I didn't want to do one with a protagonist who was a former Special Forces/SEAL/Delta Force, etc., or with zombies, not that I haven't enjoyed series with all of the above. The Last Mine: A Post-Apocalyptic Story of Appalachian Resilience (by DK Hall) was written about ordinary people who strive to persevere in extraordinary circumstances.

Hello readers and authors,I am Karen Roberts, the author of The Whiffle Ball Killer on Goodreads. I also wrote Profile in the Shadows, Big Crime Smells Trouble, and Hephzibah and the Dragon. I have a few more books in me, waiting to be put onto paper. Most of my books are about living with a serial killer. I managed to survive, but almost in a Mr. Magoo sort of way. My first book was written while the serial killer was stalking me and breaking into my house. Of course, I inadvertently aided in his capture without realizing it.
I also write requests for non-fiction genre, true crime and historical.
It is nice to be a part of this group!
