Celia McBride | 2 comments Hi Everyone,

My name is Celia McBride. I'm a writer/performer and I'm in the process of marketing my spiritual memoir, "O My God: An Un-Becoming Journey." It's kind of "Eat, Pray, Love" meets "Seven-Story Mountain." I tell the story of how I went looking for God and discovered that everything I'm searching for I Already Am. I'm trying to figure out Goodreads and how to engage with readers. Any suggestions? Thank you so much.

Bonnie McKeegan (bonniemckeeganauthor) | 2 comments I read, read, read. I write, write, write. Now I've added "self-published author" to my doin's! So excited to put something helpful out into the world.

Favorite reads: memoir; historical fiction; poetry; how to write, edit, and self-publish.

I recently updated my Goodread bookshelf and realized it's been a while. I've read lots of books (paperback and eBook) since last updating my Goodreads bookshelf. Now, to go back and write more reviews ;-)

My first book was released last week on Amazon Kindle! I had a great sales response during the first six days. Now I anxiously await reviews. I thrive on critical feedback.

Teresa Keefer | 21 comments Hi! I'm Teresa Keefer self-published author of contemporary and paranormal romance. I also have a few episodes of a non-fiction about spiritualism up on Kindle Vella. I have a blog on my website at https://www.teresakeeferromance.com which I publish every Sunday and a quarterly (sometimes more) newsletter which you can sign up for by just sending me at email at teresa.keefer.author@hotmail.com
I'm also an avid reader and have been since I was about 4 years old. This year I've actually set a goal of 52 books which I'm tracking on Goodreads.
I generally do several signings in the continental USA every year because I like meeting readers and other authors as well as having the travel bug. I will be at Wild Deadwood Reads in July, Romantic Galena Reads in September, Getting Witchy with It in Salem in September, and I am co-hosting a signing during James Dean Days in Gas City, IN on September 23, 2023. We are still accepting authors at this time!
It's nice to meet everyone! Have a wonderful Friday!!

Domanin Nicola | 1 comments Hi, my name is Nicola Domanin. I am young and I have lots to teach, especially regarding business. But how can a youngster lacking experience introduce others to the world of entrepreneurship? Simple.

I am the only author that writes from a relatable position. My book is not the usual bogus course from a Dubai guru nor some motivational book from some multi-millionaire who makes it easy.

I write about how to approach business mentally, which financial instruments are the most valuable and which ones you must avoid and the different types of investments accompanied by a practical guide on how to develop what you learn into an executable plan.

You can find my book in kindle and paperback version on Amazon. The name is: Money you can trust

Angus Curran | 3 comments Hello from Portland Oregon, its wonderful and wacky place with great beer, great coffee, and great weed. I recently retired from a career in tech and during my frantic last year of work I published my first work of fiction.

I then quickly learned that the next step was marketing and social media and more marketing and more social media. I then did the most natural thing - run away screaming and write another story.

My stories are adult focused and I smash together mystery - history - adventure - and some thriller. And all of that is wrapped in our current COVID hell with a little social justice and observation. Yes it's a gritty messed up world and that's where my stories and characters live.

My second story - Demon Treasure on Gold Mountain - is set to publish shortly. Looking forward to discussions my website is located at:

My name is John Wade Christensen. I'm an author of three books (#3 to be puiblished in mid-March) with three or four to come ... "God willing and the creek don't rise." I always looked for happy endings when I read as a kid, but now it's a mission. I've got two more memoirs about my unusual life and maybe two more books after that. I want to encourage readers to look for and find the best that's in them, to share that joy with others and make this a better world.

message 20567: by Leia (new)

Leia Marie | 1 comments Hello, everyone! I'm Leia, a psychotherapist and retreat facilitator. I have also written for most of my adult life. While the specific topics have varied, they all had something to do with the thing I feel most passionate about in all the world: how to create and sustain a rich and meaningful life, not in some abstract way but within the nitty gritty details of our personal stories. My first full-length work, Enchanted, A Tale Of Remembrance, will publish on March 23rd and I'm looking ADVANCED READERS FOR REVIEW. Here's the book description that will show up on Amazon...

A delicious blend of fantasy fiction, self-help, and spiritual exploration.

Enter a world in which mythical beings come to life beside the fire of an ancient hearth. Marvel as magical interludes are devised for a people who have lost their way. Delight as lives remarkably akin to your own are intimately and tenderly revealed. And as you witness these individuals claiming ever more fully the unique spark that is heart and soul, become inspired to shine more brightly in your own life.

In the time-honored tradition of legend and myth, this adult fairy tale delves into themes deeply relevant in our journey toward wholeness, themes such as the importance of inner stillness for accessing wisdom, the sacredness of our individual paths as avenues for awakening, and our profound connection to one another and to that magnificent Mystery that holds us all. You will be spurred to deeper thought in discussions with otherworldly beings, and will be dazzled by the transformation that unfolds in the lives of the real-world humans you come to know. And perhaps in the deeper regions of psyche and soul where true change occurs, you will begin to hear ever more clearly the whisperings of your own wisest Self urging you forward on the next stage of your own journey.

Enchanted, A Tale of Remembrance is both a pleasure to read and guidance for embodying sometimes lofty-seeming spiritual truths within the nitty gritty of a human life. It does not shy away from darkness, but reminds us that Light ever shines there, as it also celebrates our quest to embrace that Light more fully.

If you yearn for a cool drink of clean water during these turbulent times, feel the call to nourish your own unique spark, or are simply looking for an enjoyable read, take the plunge today...and may the Enchantment begin!

Me again, in (kinda) real time. Many thanks to any who have remained with this throughout that longish book description! I'm new to GoodReads and have posted a variation of the above in various groups, including Speculative Fiction, New Age, and Magical Realism sites. Please let me know if you'd be interested in an R4R...and hope that I can find your message, as this site is still a bit perplexing to me! Thanks you for your consideration.

Stephen Liosi (stephenliosi) | 7 comments My autobiographical debut novel, Addict's Way, explores the roots and price of addiction, as well as family dysfunction.

From Passing the Bar to Living in his Car ...

Lawyer and former law professor Peter Panelli suddenly finds himself homeless, eventually living in a crack house. And he doesn't even smoke crack. And an accidental trip to church landed him in the crack house. (Yes, really; I'm not lying to you.)

Can it get any more surreal, or worse?

“This story is as mad as a box of frogs.” – Unknown Human Being (aka Anonymous)

Written in a humorous, reflective voice, highlighting Panelli’s bewilderment and self-searching, ADDICT’S WAY chronicles a year in the life of Peter Panelli, a 60-year-old attorney who spent his entire adult life compulsively gambling on horses while his immediate contemporaries were busy building a life for themselves.

Without any cash reserves to overcome a recent brain injury from a car crash, Panelli ends up dead-broke, homeless, and disbarred. He now, in riotous fashion, struggles to reclaim the life he was supposed to have lived.

Panelli’s way to redemption really is as mad as a box of frogs – full of unforgettable characters, clever dialogue, and thought-provoking writing. We're left laughing, crying, and understanding just how painfully-compromised some people can be. We can't wait for the movie.

Lena Tasi | 3 comments Hi! I'm Lena, and my book is new to the world, but I'm not new to writing. I've loved it since I was a kid, and at this point it's probably the only thing I can do without feeling self-conscious (kind of like a musician with their favorite instrument...they just get in there and don't care who's watching - not that anyone would want to come over for a few hours to watch me write, but you know what I mean).

Love the Goodreads community and am happy to be here.

Oliver Trusler | 6 comments Hi all.
I always wanted to write a book and finally I have finished one (30 years later lol). It's currently in the editing stage and having a cover designed but should be available soon.
I am already half way through the second book in the series as well so I hope to find readers keen enough to follow the adventures of my characters.

I love reading books and comics and glad to be here amongst like-minded folk.

Gwen Segal | 4 comments Hi all, my name is Gwen Segal I was born and raised in Miami Florida but moved to North Carolina in 1991 and have made rural Eastern North Carolina my home. I have a BFA in Theatre Education. After a brief time, teaching at every grade level in the public school system, I left to become an electrician’s helper and business manager for my life partner Nick, a full-time cat and dog mom, part-time naturalist, artist, and writer.
For the past 23 years, we have raised, aided, or interacted in some meaningful way with countless dogs and cats. I have been a resource for others whose owners or caregivers have asked for my advice. Now I share my knowledge on a blog and two Facebook pages. I offer tips, recommendations, fun facts, and general information for pet owners. There are blog posts about cat training, bathing cats, and recommendations for products that have been pet tested. Because of Jim is the title of my blog and one of my Facebook pages, the other page is named Wild Serenity Cat Rescue Fund. The fund is a depository for the royalties from my very first book Because of Jim (a Story of 17 Rescues in the Height of COVID). The page is a place to post the activities of the fund and the progress of the Wild Serenity Cat Colony. The colony started as a TNR project of the fund and has become an extension of the rescue effort that is the subject of my book. The fund distributes a check approximately every quarter to support organizations that rescue, foster, and provide medical assistance to companion animals in need.
I am currently working on my second book and have plans to branch out into other genres. You can find my book on Amazon.

Patrick Mork (patrickmork) | 2 comments Hi folks! Excited to be here. I’m a recovering tech worker (20 years in tech, 10 years in Silicon Valley, tech startups and a stint at Google).

I’m also an accidental author, I recently launched my first book in the hope of helping people who are going through a rough time (I hit rock bottom in 2017) and want to do a complete 180 in their lives and find lives of meaning and purpose.

My book Step Back and LEAP: 9 Keys to Unlock your Life and Make Sh*t Happen is a memoir/self help book where I chronicle 20 years of my career, failed startups, being bullied as a young expat kid in Mexico, and starting a business in the middle of a constitutional crisis in Chile (where I now live).

More importantly, this is a book about personal transformation, hope and change because I believe each one of us has something magical and special inside of us just yearning to get out and manifest itself. Each one of us is capable of amazing things and of transforming ourselves into the best version of ourselves.

Change is hard but hey, if it were easy, everybody would do it right? 😀

Step Back and LEAP is my journey through change and if it inspires even just one of you to make lasting change, then it was well worth writing.

I'm thrilled to be a part of the Goodreads community and look forward to engaging with fellow readers and authors here.

Maurice Breslow | 1 comments Hi Everyone. I'd like to introduce myself and my recently published novella Full Circle: Sherlock Holmes's Greatest Challenge Ever.

My name's Maurice Breslow. I live in Canada (moved here many years ago from the US). I've spent my professional life in theatre, mainly as a playwright, stage director, and university professor, but have also written fiction. My plays have been produced in Canada and the US, and my stories and articles published in both countries.

My novella Full Circle: Sherlock Holmes's Greatest Challenge Ever is based on events in the life of Arthur Conan Doyle, especially his 1893 decision to end the Holmes series by killing off his great detective. It's a truly different kind of Sherlockian adventure, a fanciful tale that pits Holmes, plus Watson and the Doyle character Irene Adler, in an existential struggle against their very creator. It's no exaggeration to say it presents Holmes with a challenge unlike any he has ever faced, or could ever have imagined facing. Along the way, it touches on the relationship between a writer and his/her creation, and it does all this with suspense, humour, and an authentic sense of Victoriana.

I invite you to learn more on my website, www.mauricebreslow.ca, where you'll find a more detailed description of the novella, its promotional trailer, its 5-star Clarion review, and comments from readers.

There are links on the website to order the book, which is available through Amazon and FriesenPress Bookstore. It's also available through most local booksellers. It's a fun read. I hope you'll give it a look, and if you do, I'd welcome your feedback.

Only a reader!? Readers are all! :-)

Hello everyone, it's a pleasure to be here. I am the youngest daughter of author James P Hogan so writing is in my blood. The Tammy Mellows Trilogy is based on my life and my adventurous times when I was a commercial fisherwoman. I'm proud to say that the trilogy has won two gold awards for best fiction adventure. The Sabela series is a suspense romance and consists of 7 books. I am currently writing the final book. I am originally from England and now live in a small mountain community in California. When I am not writing I enjoy hiking our many trails, kayaking on our nearby lakes or riding my quad to the top of our mountain.
