Anita Peter | 2 comments To win your battles STAY ALIVE: A book on coping with depression. It's not easy but the fact is it is possible to recover and heal.

Hi! I am Anita Peter, the author of the book To win your battles STAY ALIVE, a non-fiction book, to create awareness about mental health and well-being. I pen down my thoughts regularly and write poems. I decided to write this book to throw light on the misconceptions about mental ailments as well as the taboo and social stigma that hovers around the same. I have written the book based on my struggle with clinical depression.
My purpose is to reach out to as many as possible with the message, that the most important is to STAY ALIVE. Hope you like the read.

Rupa | 8 comments Hello,

I am writing on behalf of my 12 year old daughter, Isabelle, who just became an author last month. She has published her very first book of poems - Petals in the Sky - which is now available for purchase on Amazon. She loves reading and writing and showed signs of advanced writing at a very young age. Being her first book, she is donating any proceeds to the COVID-19 Solidarity relief fund by the World health Organization (WHO). A link to her book on Amazon is here - https://www.amazon.com/Petals-Sky-Col...

She is now writing her 2'nd book which she plans to eventually develop as a series.

Cheers!!

I'm also the founder of Moth House Press, an independent publishing house focused on folklore, dark genres, Asian American and Hmong stories (fiction and nonfiction) with traditional and non-traditional lead characters including women and ethnic leads.

Emma Partridge | 1 comments Hello! My name is Emma Partridge and I am promoting my dad's most recent book. He enjoys writing comedy and drama books. His latest book, "When Cities Sink Howling in Ruin" is set in 1191 B.C.
Eighteen-year-old Iakos is a Greek scribe who longs to escape the counting house and win fame as a warrior—but his mother forbids it. His uncle Aithon, a pragmatic sea merchant of forty, wants nothing more than a peaceful, stable Mediterranean in which he can ply his trade from port to port. He convinces Iakos’ mother to allow Iakos to go to sea with him, rather than risk her son running away to become a mercenary. But the world is to crush both of their dreams; for they live in the historical period known as the Collapse of the Late Bronze Age, when virtually every civilization in the eastern Mediterranean was destroyed—including Troy and Greece herself. Aithon and Iakos sail around the Mediterranean and witness city after city being razed, until finally the brutality touches them both in the most personal way imaginable.

Piers Horner | 2 comments Hi everyone!

My name's Piers and I'm new to Goodreads. I'm a first time indie author clocking up as many rookie mistakes as I can so that my second (or maybe third) book ends up being at least moderately successful.

If you're into science, and in particular space, then please do check out Short Stories of Space which was released at the start of the year - I'd love to know your thoughts and feedback!

Other than that I'm from the UK originally but moved to Amsterdam just in time before Brexit-for-real. I worked in the UK Civil Service for 8 years prior to that.

Look forward to learning from you all on here and hopefully making some great connections!

David Morris | 2 comments Hello all I'm David, thank you for the opportunity Vincent to introduce myself. Writing the best novel I possibly could produce has always been on my bucket list. Not another Spartacus book you say? I'm afraid so kids. After an exhaustive search into whom I'd devote all my spare time to it became clear the late Republic was the place for me. Who doesn't love the underdog or root for the little guy? What story will grab a fortysomething male and tempt him to part with his hard earned money? Sex, violence, rock and roll baby, Revolting Slaves has it in spades. I've spent my life toiling by the sweat of my brow to keep the roof up and the lights on, hating every moment of it. I've found, like most of you, the most rewarding way to spend time is creating a world others might enjoy. I couldn't wait to wake up and peck on the keyboard, hours passed like minutes and had to be torn away from my trance. I'm sure many of you know what I'm talking about. What started out as a personal challenge became an obsession culminating in a love affair. Now I know there's nothing in life I'd rather do than write stories I'd like to read and if it brings pleasure to others that's just icing on the cake. Now if I could monetize it, that would be the cherry on top. I've opened my KDP account and I'm waiting for my cover art, once that's done I'll start formatting it using the Reedsy seven steps. Have I done everything right? Will I make a mistake? Maybe not and probably but that's life right? At some point we got to stop waiting for someone to hold our hand and do it for us. We must run it up the flag pole and see who salute's it. Thank you all for your time and if at all interested please check out my excerpt on Reedsy and tell me what you think. People of earth, have a blessed and rewarding life.

Dana Christy | 29 comments Hello... I am a reader and writer but I've let my writing take a backseat to life for awhile. Now that I am back putting words to the page and creating stories and characters I hope the world will love, I look forward to interacting on goodreads.
I write Romance Suspense novels. So far, I have two books published on amazon that are part of a series. The third part is still sitting unedited. (I will finish...)
Right now, I wrote two more manuscripts that I am hoping will do well once I publish.
Just trying to decide if I Query for a publisher or self-publish. We'll see what happens.

Michelle Stannard (mooshymooshy) | 1 comments Hiya,

My name is Michelle and I last year I started working with an awesome author, Tom Brown to help him promote his books. My company is pretty new and he has just launched his second book today, it's called The Corporate Menagerie. I want to help get his name out there so people will start being able to enjoy his work more.

His latest book is a series of poems about different characters he's met throughout his life. It's been beautifully illustrated with animal characters to represent each of the verses. It's very identifiable and I can definitely pick out two characters that encompass who I am as a person.

I have to wait 24 hours to post the book on his account so I hope I am allowed to post it here, and that you all enjoy it if you do get a copy. https://tombrown.online/product/the-c....

I also wanted to join this conversation as I love to read and am always looking for new recommendations, and love to chat about the things I read.

Stay safe everyone!

Gyuszi Sütő | 1 comments Hello,
I just joined this group. My name is Gyuszi Suto, I grew up in Transylvania, Romania. Now I live in Oregon USA.
I just finished a manuscript of 130,000 words. It contains 36 stories from my childhood (age 10) to adulthood (age 28) during the communist dictatorship of Nicolae Ceausescu. The stories are in chronological order, they cover a variety of adventures and events: soccer, beating, beekeeping, police brutality, sex (and lack of thereof), love, secret police, revolution, and finally freedom.
I'd like to ask for advice on how to promote it, get a review, publish.
Please advise,
thank you
