It is impossible to stand out individually. When I do have a question or comment for an individual author, I would think they would be flattered.

I see, and admit you have a point. Personally I am always flattered when people take the time to notice my books, perhaps more so because it's so difficult to get noticed among the crowd.

Russ Geraghty | 5 comments Nigel Williams (writing as Russ Geraghty). Hi all. I'm just getting my head around this brilliant site. I've recently released the first in a series of paranormal chillers called Dead Legacy. It seems to be doing okay too. I'm also the author of 23 crime novels - 9 of which are published traditionally by Wordcatcher. Dead Legacy is not a genre my publisher deals with and so it is my return to self-publishing.

My recent effort is One Degree, An Historical Medical Mystery which is a real-life book based on my Vietnam and military experience, teaching at Weill Cornell Medicine, and researching and lecturing on military PTSD, substance abuse, and suicide. I utilized the deceit surrounding Agent Orange as a model for One Degree's plot. Ironically I just was diagnosed with a disease whose causation is the vicious chemical Dioxin that is a predictable byproduct of AO production. But, here's a glimpse at Swirling Shadows :) :

Gohr Ebonwisp was brought into Grimwood’s world, wrapped in shadow magic. Though his journey begins when he is a baby, the Queen of Duaramar will stop at nothing, until she can collect him for her own personal gain.

Young Gohr finds himself being escorted to a Shadow Stride encampment, where he can be safe under the guise of savages. Though, as he grows older within the Shadow Stride, life begins to take a turn as camps have been burned to the ground. Who better to blame than the freak who holds a talent for magic?

Forced to witness the murder of his mentor, bound and hopeless, and a bounty now pinned against him, Gohr Ebonwisp is faced with no other choice than to head south to Bridgewater University with hopes of learning more about his talent for magic… and for more allies.

Little does Gohr know, Bridgewater has its own secrets.

I'm Anna Baldwin -- my pen name -- and I recently self-published my first novel, The Making of a Serial Arsonist. The journey from writer to published author was an arduous journey because when I finished my manuscript I wanted to hold onto it; I felt that letting go would make me vulnerable to the self proclaimed critics. Finally, I woke up to the truth of my inner turbulence; I was worrying about whether the book would be perfect. Like everything else, nothing is perfect. So, I decided to "jump," and here I am: my authentic self -- an author.

Welcome, Anna. I know the feeling, I self-published back in May, and the feeling of insecurity was great. Paul F. | 55 comments One of my 5-star novels, "West of the Sunset" is about a group of travelers on the Oregon Trail in 1852. Tyler Linders is determined to find a wife on the long journey, which will enable him to claim a greater share of acreage when he gets to Oregon. Will he decide to compete against several other men for the femme fatale of the wagon train, or will he at some point notice the young lady desperately trying to get his attention and win his love? The dangers of the trail--disgruntled Indians, sandstorms, thirst, broken wagons, internal fights and killings, form the action in the novel. It is a fun adventure, but not every emigrant is up to the challenges, the obstacles, and the fighting that the journey engenders.

Paul Ola (theoristpaulola) | 2 comments Hello Everyone,

11 years ago, I became so desperate to see the end of the ENORMOUS SUFFERING and PREMATURE DEATH that cancers and other DISEASES cause that I gave up my only source of income, my work as a member of healthcare teams, to search for the CAUSE of these diseases which these noble teams must REMOVE from our bodies with PRECISION to produce CURE which, by its true definition, is the DISAPPEARANCE of the manifestation of diseases with NO CHANCE that they will RETURN.

When I arrived at a theory that DESCRIBED this cause and demonstrated it to be removable WITHOUT DISAGREEMENT with any of the FACTS of science, I wrote it to give ALL HUMANS an EXACT INSIGHT irrespective of their level of familiarity with science and published it immediately like my theoretical predecessor, ALBERT EINSTEIN did when he completed his relativity theory in 1915 and even without buying the book, you can LOOK INSIDE it and read more about the theory than I can tell you here when you click on The Removable Root Cause of Cancers and other Chronic Diseases: The Effort Theory of Evolution, Chronic Diseases and Extinction and the AMAZON button that appears when you do so.

What I cannot achieve by the mere publication of the theory, however, is to get this theory APPLIED as fast as it must for the MEANS by which this ROOT CAUSE can be REMOVED with PRECISION to become available as EARLY as they must if our healthcare teams will be able to use them to eliminate the presently incurable manifestations of diseases FROM the bodies of THOSE who are ALREADY SUFFERING from them, who could include ANY OF US sooner than we could imagine. But together, we can.

Yours in the war against humankind's greatest enemies.

Cameron Kielb | 1 comments Hi all! My name is Cameron Kielb.

I'm an author in the Chicago-land area. I particularly enjoy writing fantasy and science-fiction stories although I've been branching out with other genres as well such as mystery, horror, and more. Growing up, I always enjoyed being swept away to new worlds full of action and wonder. It is this same feeling I hope to create for my prospective readers.

I didn't actually begin my writing journey until a few years ago when I started my first book (Hidden City) in The Kingdom Series. I had always dreamed of writing a story but had never had the discipline to sit down and focus on creating a story. Something sparked in my mind one random morning and I finally picked up the pen and left laziness (and doubt?) behind. Since them I have fallen in love with writing and love my time spent practicing this craft.

I look forward to discussing reading and writing with you!

Brett Bird | 8 comments Hello everyone, I'm Brett Bird, a brand new author and looking to promote my first book, Become Whole: How to Avoid Being Too Nice and Being a Jerk to Get What You Truly Deserve in Your Life on Goodreads. The book was released on Amazon a couple of weeks ago in Kindle and paperback.

My motivation for writing this book came from a lack of certain concepts that the self-help genre appeared to be lacking. These concepts consisted of the fact that everyone, including myself, operates on a continuum. Think of a barbell. On the left, you have "nice" people - those who let others walk all over them, who are scared of conflict, etc. On the right, you have "Jerks". Those who want to walk on others to get what they want, break the rules if need be, and display irrational arrogance, among other things.

In the center of these two extremes, you have what I call being "whole", a person who is between "nice" and a "jerk". This type of person stands up for him/herself. won't let others walk on them, displays sufficient humility, and addresses conflict in a direct, non-assertive manner. This book addresses how to move from either extreme on the barbell to the center. It is at this center that weights are usually lifted - the form of how you lift that barbell represents how you act and conduct yourself in the world. You wouldn't lift the barbell on one end - you'd lift from the center.

The act of physically writing the book took about 9 months, but the information was the result of trial and error over several years. As someone who used to be "nice", it took plenty of strength to overcome and acquire the knowledge that I write about. To say that coming by this material wasn't easy would be a huge understatement. The main motivation for writing this book came from the realization that my personal struggles aren't unique to me. I've encountered many people along both sides of the continuum that faced the same problems as me. This made me realize I couldn't just keep this vital information to myself.

This is my purpose for writing Become Whole. All of this is just too important to keep to myself.

One day I simply decided to write. I didn't have a well thought-out blueprint or outline for the book. I just wanted to get the concepts down on paper, and would organize what I had written when needed. Inspiration just flowed out of me. It was unlike any kind of inspiration I've felt in years. Once the words were written, I just kept going and letting the thoughts flow from my fingers to the written page. I love writing material that will benefit others; I never thought I would write a book with such passion.

I'm writing a second book. Right now, my time is split between writing that, updating my blog and website (also related to personal development), marketing Become Whole, and my other endeavors.

I'm looking forward to meeting, sharing experiences with, and supporting my fellow authors!

Hello all!

I'm a new, indie author with my debut novel set for release on November 4th. (with four wonderful review, so far, and hopefully more to come)

My debut work "The Girl in the Storm" is the first in a trilogy titled A Season of Angels. It's a dark, upper YA Supernatural Thriller that explores a shadowy world of Angels, Demons, Lucifer himself and a teenage girl unwittingly pulled into the middle of it all. I'm excited to finally have a chance to share this story... and the rest of this harrowing adventure yet to come.

Mernie (mernieb) | 3 comments The Incompetent Psychic

Happy to be here with my initial dive into pro authors pool. (Some people have bought my memoir so hey, I'm not an amateur any longer). Favorite reviews: "I could put it down, but kept picking it back up again," and, "Better than I expected it to be."
I wrote in more than one dimension—both as an uncompromising and often humorous look at my life as a freelance artist, and from the perspective of my over-worked Spirit Guides on the other side. Some dead friends had a few things to say. Although I'm not very adept with the cosmic message function, I keep trying to hear the angels... and the dogs. My debut splash was indie published on Sept 29. Signed copies are available at www.mernie.com

Courtney Hunter (courtneyphunter) | 3 comments Hi there - I'm Courtney and my debut science fiction novel, Sentience, is due out on October 30th, 2020. I love any story that's Promethean in nature, and thus, that's a huge theme throughout my novel.

Some of my favorite reads include: Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton, Ultraluminous by Katherine Faw, and Voices of Chernobyl by Svetlana Alexievich.

While I'm here, let me tell you about my book.

Sentience follows twenty-four individuals as they travel through a contained natural preserve to participate in a Turing Test conducted by a tech corporation willing to do anything for monetary gain. Robots, sex, lies, adventure, and chaos. Who can you trust when you can’t trust yourself? And what truly defines humanity and consciousness?

To keep it really simple, I like to describe Sentience by saying that it’s like Michael Crichton’s Westworld meets The Hunger Games for grown-ups. You can learn more about it at www.courtneyphunter.com

Walter Danley (walterdanley) | 26 comments Hello Everyone! I am Walter Danley a four-decade veteran of the investment industry, and I now write suspense thriller novels instead of living the experience every day. I live in the Texas Hill Country, where I work on suspense thriller series, A Wainwright Mystery, and other standalone novels. I usually write from my library office overlooking the Cibolo Creek.

I also wrote Blasted Past and I hope you can enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it.

When your THEN becomes NOW, you have a Blasted Past. A time-Traveler's Tale of the Old West.
Jim Nagle who has more problems than any 54-year old investment executive can handle. His ex-wife has her lawyers threatening him, his estranged son is in jail, and the California State Franchise Board is chasing him for back taxes. The topper is his business has grown so fast he is mismanaging it. It just seems he can't get a break.
Then, in less time than a single heartbeat, his life is changed forever. A freak accident thrust Nagle back 145 years into history.
After ruling out a bad dream or delusions, Jim begins to realize he has, in fact, been transported back in time and is now standing on the dusty street of a small town called Boerne in post-Civil War Texas.
Raised as a life-long Catholic Nagle had slipped from the grace of the Church over the years. Still a believer if not a practitioner, as he becomes more adjusted to life in 1872 Boerne he eventually comes to believe that only God could send him back in time to this place. His present circumstance could not have been an accident, so it must be a part of God's plan. Nagle's renewed faith convinces him that his Maker wants him in 1872 for a reason known only to Him. But, what is the purpose? Was he sent here to change history? What is the significance of being put in this place at this time in antiquity?
Since he has no way to go back to the future, Nagle will wait, tangled in time, for an understanding from above. In the meantime, he soon realizes, he'll need to develop some specialized skills pretty darn quick if he wants to stay alive.

Read and enjoy this rich, nuanced, character-driven tale that goes far beyond good versus evil.

This story will ENTERTAIN, and ENGAGE you, but at the same time you will be ENLIGHTENED by Blasted Past. Watch the Book Trailer here.

J.P. Goorjian (jpgoorjian) | 5 comments Greetings fellow Earthlings!
I like to fly on spaceships, especially when they're made of plants. Earth is my favorite spaceship.
I really like aliens. If you're an alien please contact me!!
My heroes names are Roald and Dad and Socrates. My favorite answer is "I don't know, what's that?"
I love learning! In stories! Make me pick up a dictionary please!
I really don't like coming to conclusions though. Boring!
Curiosity is my favorite food. Seconds por favor.
I like superheroes, but only if they cry a lot. Have you read Neal Stephenson? Holy moly, that dude is so smart. And Stephen King? Reading his writing is like looking at a dirty wound. I love it.
I love stories so much. Oh, I made a cool film or two. I was prop master on weird movie called Twixt made by this guy who's pretty famous. He made some gangster movies and a crazy war film. "THE HORROR..." But Twixt is about a writer and some kid vomited on set because of fake blood. I caught his vomit in a bowl actually. It was gross but I felt like a superhero.
Well... (You can read a story I wrote if you want. It's called Mara and the Magic Sketchbook. It's for kids (of all ages) and it's awesome!)
I hate talking about myself! Geez.
I love you!!!
(And once more: if you are an alien, please contact me! I have questions about gravity reactors, empathy, and world peace.)
I love you more!!!

Theogony Θεογονία #mythology “Birth of the #Gods” attributed to Hesiod 700 BC, and the Derveni Papyrus 500 BC. Worth checking this interesting ancient art papyrus in the Museum of Thessaloniki Greece. An interesting thought - DeReVeNi in Slavic also reads as DReVNi (meaning Ancient). xox https://www.artof4elements.com/entry/...

Paul, you are correct. However, sometimes by asking, you get conversation. That happened to me on a FB group page. I asked if anyone ever comments about the books posted. Sure enough, one author started talking to me. We became friends, we read each other's books, reviewed them, promoted them, and will continue to read future books. However, that's rare. There are so many debut authors out there trying to get noticed.
