Hi!My name is Matt and I'm new to the group. I'm 34 years old and from Manchester, UK but now live in Liverpool. I took a creative writing course in 2012-13 and was nominated for an Adult Learner Award in 2014 :)
I work in payroll, though I'd rather be writing but something needs to pay the bills! :)
I have just released my first paperback, a collection of short stories and novellas.
Looking to meet lots of new authors and readers :)
My website/blog is at: www.matthewdrzymala.com :)
Hello everyone! My name is KayeC Jones (pronounced like "Casey") and I work with my wonderful husband Russ Hughes. Together we make children's books. We absolutely love it and we've only just started a couple months ago.
We work on each book together, banging heads, scribbling on paper and giggling like a couple of school kids passing notes. We're very excited about sharing our work. Check out our brand new website we did ourselves: CozyBearStudio.com.
I can't wait to hear from you. And don't be shy! I would love to be your friend.
Have a great day!
Warmly,
KayeC
Hi, I go by the name JAKe. I am a relatively new author and am currently writing the sequel to my first book, titled "The Unintended: R u sure??". I look forward to hearing about any success stories, whether directly through a publishing company, a literary agent or by self-publishing. I have tried self-publishing first, but am scheduled to go to a writers workshop in early June where I've paid to get to speak to two agents.
Please post what has worked for any of you. Thanks!

Hi Vincent,
My name is C.J. Pastore and I've written educational articles and now, romance. My new romance novel, Captive of a Commoner is currently on Kindle Scout until May 29th. I'm trying to get the hang of self promotion, but I'm afraid it's an early work in progress. Not sure where I will take the book after the contest ends. If I don't win the campaign, perhaps I'll self publish. I've started Book II and am very excited with the direction it's taking.
I recently finished reading Elena Ferrante's My Brilliant Friend series. Just marvelous how she bleeds words until her characters spring to life as passionate, imperfect human beings attempting to carve their way through life. Thanks for giving me this platform to write about myself, my work and my reading preferences. Kudos to everyone out there who attempts to transform a blank page into a story for others to enjoy.
Happy Writing!
C.J. Pastore
Hi everyone (and there certainly are a lot of you!)I am Susan Lynham and I am addicted to print...I will read anything, including the flyers from the newspaper! I learned to read when I was 3 so I could read articles from the newspaper to my mother while she cooked dinner..it was my only one-on-one time with her..at that point only 2 of my 5 brothers were on the scene but they still hogged her attention! I am the girl who read under the covers with a flashlight..my favourite birthday and Christmas gifts were books and batteries. I got an adult library card when I was 7 as the children's librarian in my small town realised that there was really nothing left for me to read.
My parents and my aunt and uncle who lived next door were all big readers so both at home and at our cottages there were always libraries of second-hand books, both for kids and adults. There were times while I was in university that I might be able to read only one book a week as the reading in my courses was generally heavy but it was always such a treat. I have spent most of my 60 odd years without a television just because books were always so much better.
I own over a 1000 books that I feel are worth re-reading at least once and I seem to be adding, not subtracting as I promised myself I would...there are books that I enjoy so much that some of them I have read as many as 20 times.
So I am here to find new authors, to see "behind the scenes" to discover how storytellers can make a story come alive and perhaps to see if I have a book or two in me ("mere conceit" snarls my frontal lobe while my untrammeled imagination squeaks "maybe")
There are so many forums here that I may have to give up Facebook, gardening and training my new puppy just to get a glimpse here and there of what is going on. I look forward to my time here!
Hi all,My name's James Hockley, and I've joined this group as a writer and a reader.
I live in Bristol (UK) and am 34. I love reading and generally read in the fantasy genre (though I will happily read almost anything - I've even read Fifty Shades, just to see what all the fuss was about of course).
And as a reader, I also got inspired to write - again, mostly in the fantasy genre. As a writer, I have recently released an epic fantasy novel Fear's Union - which is the first part of a trilogy. I also intend to release a novella in a month or so's time.
But I'm always out for a great story, and have also started reviewing and blogging my reads on my website below.
http://www.jhockley.com/epic-fantasy/...
And I'm also recording my writing experiences with my recent novella (hour by hour no less!) on my website too - consider it an 'anatomy' of my writing process. Please come and check it out if you're interested in writing yourself!

Anyway, great to meet you all, and I look forward to spending time here.
Thanks, James

Hello Everyone, I'm an avid reader and author of nine published works, with my next release, The Other Two-Fifths, hitting the market on 6/12. My writing career began with a first place win in Ebony Magazine's literary contest. Unlike my earlier Contemporary Fiction, The Other Two-Fifths is historical fact-based fiction, much from personal experiences.
The Other Two-Fifths can be pre-ordered from A-Argus Publishing. Your reviews and comments are greatly appreciated.

Rita wrote: "Welcome Ken and B.M. Congratulations on finishing your first books. It's an incredibly exciting time and I hope your novels do well."Thank you, mine is more of a Novella really. I have to say that writing it was the easy part. Getting someone to read it is much harder.

Plan to get a copy!
Here's an excerpt from my debut novel, The DividingThe Dividing Stone Stone "Though born Bill Guiles Eville, he choose to use Guiles as his surname as not to draw attention to his last. Even though he couldn’t see the bird, he felt the presence of the falcon spirit guide as the car screeched around the hairpin turn faster then he’d ever gone before. He loved the speed and thrill of living dangerously on the edge.
I'm always looking for guest authors on my website www.ritaleechapman.com. If anyone is interested in being interviewed you can contact me through the website.
Allow me to introduce myself: Author, Nina Norstrom here! I authored the book, "Not a Blueprint It's the Shoe Prints that Matter, A Journey Through Toxic Relationships." It was released on April 5, 2016. Before it's official release date, the Barnes & Noble Stores positioned the book in all its Atlanta stores, among their other regional zones. They have it on their shelf under the category Relationships.
It has truly been an experience to discover this bookseller has embraced they story. Last weekend I had my first book signing with them (at Cumberland Mall). To-date, I've two other locations where I will be appearing in their author event program; June 18th (Norcross Mall), and September 10th (Mall of GA).
All I can say, "This is the works where our Marker has opened many doors, for me."

Hi all,I am Poise, I am a new author, looking to make friends with other amazing authors like myself. :) I am so glad to find a group where I can relate with other authors and share books in general. I am based in Nevada where I am currently studying for a doctorate degree and have some of my family members in Southern California, and all over the world. I do love it in Reno by the way! :)
I just finished my first novel, a contemporary romance with a lot of suspense/thriller, titled "Beyond a Dream In Paris," which has been completely edited finally, whew! I am at this moment seeking other fascinating authors and professional reviewers to review my manuscript for publicity and marketing purpose. I intend to use some of the candid reviews on the back and front cover of my book.
I am also willing to read other authors' manuscripts or novels and give my candid reviews if they so desire. I will be very happy to see interested authors, readers, and reviewers contact me for a copy of my manuscript for an honest review. My email address is cpoised8@gmail.com.

Hi there! My pen name is Kirsten Schuder, and it is what i go by for all my written work. I am a mental health editor for wikiHow, a proofreading intern for a small publisher, the author of the Inside Dweller series (have agent, looking for publisher after I complete my marketing plan), and an associate literary agent.
I have had loads of fun in the mental health field, and it gave me a healthy beginning to my writing and editing career. Completing my 100 page thesis was a defining moment for me. It gave me the confidence to move onto novels.
Now I have jumped in with both feet, and pursuing all I can to make up for lost time. Had I known I could read books for a living by being a literary agent, it's what I would have done twenty five years ago, so I feel like I've arrived home.
It's going well, and I can't wait to land a publisher for Inside Dweller.
I love writing, fiction, nonfiction, mental health, but my favorite by far is writing about the supernatural. That happens to be what the Inside Dweller series is - a supernatural thriller. I had a dilly of a time picking a market for the book, because it's sort of like reading the Syfy channel, except without all the monster shows and vampire stories. Paranormal didn't quite hit it, nor did new age... I was stuck for a long time. Finally, I found supernatural thriller.
I didn't see a category for supernatural fiction. Would you mind adding a category for this? No rush. It's going to be a while until my book is ready. When you have the chance.
What an active, wonderful, busy group! I'm looking forward to participating when I can :).
-Kirsten Schuder
Hi, everyone, First, thanks to Vincent for setting this up and to the mods for being so supportive and responsive. It's great for authors to have such a warm community and I love seeing the variety of genres and subjects here.
I teach, coach, but what I'm most focused on is writing a trilogy of fantasy adventure novels about dreaming. They were inspired by helping my daughters learn to tame their nightmares, fly, breathe underwater, and other things we can do in our dreams with practice. I was really, really frustrated by how creativity and imaginative learning in schools was being replaced by standardized testing, so I wrote these books to help readers learn more about their own dreams and how to improve them.
It's been so exciting and rewarding to hear from young readers about what they want to and learn to do in their dreams. If you have any young dreamers in your circle or want to explore dreams yourself, check out the book at:
Raising Sleeping Stones
You can also watch trailers and learn more at www.raisingstones.com.
Thanks again for the opportunity to share and to connect with other authors.
Hello, I'm Caroline Clemmons and I write contemporary and historical western romance. I'm a voracious reader as well and read several genres. I started with a NY publisher but when I got my rights back, self-published. I like that better. Now I have 28 books and several box sets. I love writing--best job in the world, unless I could get paid for reading. What are your favorite genres to read?
Welcome to the group, Caroline!I agree... Writing is the best job in the world, and it would be fantastic to get paid to read too.

In Korea, there’s a very famous serial novel website, where the book “The Soldier” was first published. Due to the creativity of the author, it became an instant hit with more than 680,000 readers. “The Soldier” is a fantasy novel with the World War II as its background. The story first generated from the question, ‘What if the world of the Wulin actually existed in real life?’ Through the authors imagination, readers are introduced to characters with supernatural powers that start to reveal their abilities when put under extreme situations and are willing to cast their lives to defend what they ought to protect.
Jackal, the main character, is a former German soldier. He’s a person of misfortune, swept up in war against his will and having to change sides multiple times. Coincidentally, Jackal meets Marie-Louise, a Jewish girl who holds an enormous secret. She holds within her the evil spirit of the Blood Demon, the most powerful martial arts wielder in history. Though the two first meet as enemies, they become allies through their fights together against the enemy. Through the heated battles, Jackal discovers that he possesses a miraculous power he never knew he had, which soon sets him in the crosshairs of the Blood Demon within Marie-Louise.
Will Jackal, who was once called the ‘War Devil’ during the WWII, be able to finally safely flee to Argentina and gain his freedom?
