Hi Everyone and Vincent. Thank you for letting me join this group. A little background. I have a degree in Computer Information Systems/ Management Information Systems but became disabled before I could put my degree to good use. However, thanks to wonderful advances in technology, I can now take advantage of parts of my degree. One thing I did learn was web design. I am also an avid reader of most genres. I am friends with some great authors who have approached me about designing their websites and their social media pages such as Facebook. I am very excited about this but I am at a complete loss as to what to charge. I am not out to set industry standards but to do a good/great job and make them happy. Vincent, that was one of the things you offered. Do you think you could help me or anyone for that matter help with this problem?
Hi all,Thanks for letting me join! I'm a sci-fi lover and writer that particularly enjoys the lighter stories. Topics that delve into the fantastical while still focused on our social norms and lifestyles particularly interest me. I'm currently working on getting my first book published, titled The Office of Time Control. You can find more about it via the website, where I publish short stories, expanding on characters introduced in the novel: http://www.officeoftimecontrol.com/
Otherwise, I'm a journalist and reader that will primarily comment on sci-fi posts and threads. And I'll dabble into the realism realm every once-in-a-while as well.
Feel free to reach out to me and I look forward to delving into the forum further.

Hi everyone. I'm a new author. I just published my first romance novel. I'd love to find new books to read and share my own.www.tracyburkeauthor.com
Come check out my website and stop in and say hi. I'd love to talk to everyone about the books they like.
Hi all RJ RICE Here! Found the group while I was looking around for how to create a goodreads author page. Relatively new Author here so far only in the digital world. However I have always wrote short stories and several times started novels all throughout my life. I never would of guessed there was so much to learn outside of just writing!
Anyways this has been fun and I am enjoying it. So far a few short non- fictions is all I have released (one that I am waiting on a fresh edit to be returned as I didn't do so good myself) Also have two that are NEW RELEASE!
Well thanks and if anyone can help me with where to set up author page? For now I will just make a shelf and title Author.
Hello!I'm Renee Ross and I write gothic suspense novels. Because I so loved the gothic romance paperbacks from the 1960's and 70's, my desire is to bring them back into popularity. I strive to write books in that classic vintage style (minus the painted cover with the frightened woman running from a dark castle in her nightie.) Not that I wouldn't love to have that, it's just that I write better than I paint.
Hey there. Names Jacob Caruso. Aspiring author here. Have my first book typed up and is being worked on by myself and others. I love writing and am currently attending college for my English degree, which at some point may turn into a creative writing major. Looking to find ways to get to know people and even a circle would be nice that I could expose my work to when it’s ready. Message me or add me as a friend, I’m sure we’ll get along!
Welcome R.J., Renee, Sima, and Jacob! Renee, I love what you're doing. I used to love to read those gothic novels when I was a teenager in the seventies. (I know that dates me.) Victoria Holt was my favorite. She also wrote historical novels under the pseudonym Jean Plaidy. She also wrote under the pseudonym Phillipa Carr.
Ariel RisingThank you so much for providing this forum. We are a wife/husband writing team. I am a professor of education at Kent State University and my husband is a software architect. We've both published academic and technical works, with Ariel Rising being our first novel.
From 5-December-2015 through 9-December-2015, Ariel Rising will be available for free on the Kindle Store.
Enough of that. Ariel would now like to say a few words...
Dear Readers,
My dreams were simple. College, a career, and let’s see what happens. But things don’t always go according to plan.
My name is Ari Worthington and I’ve had a very eventful week. A life-changing week. The kind of week that would make the average person whimper. It started when my ex-boyfriend Luke accosted me in the woods.
How badly was I injured? Not a scratch. And Luke? Not so lucky. Nope, I whupped him good. It surprised the heck out of him—once he woke up.
And then I met Davin. Handsome, witty, amazing Davin. Perfect in every way, unless you think being an alien, from a planet called Olympus, might be a liability.
“Seriously? Your planet is named after a Greek mountain?” I ask him.
“Actually, it’s the other way around,” he tells me. “The mountain was named after us. We’ve been visiting Earth for a very, very long time. As a matter of fact, we are responsible for human evolution.”
Imagine that. Shocking? Yeah. But there’s more. Davin’s an angel, which I could have handled, would have handled, if only he hadn’t told me I was one, too.
“But we don’t have wings,” I say.
“Real angels don’t need wings,” he counters.
“Ah, that explains everything,” I reply.
So, you think this is just another angel story? Well, it’s not. It’s got humor, romance, adventure, science, tragedy, and…did I say romance? It’ll make you think, and laugh, and cry.
Davin and I, you see, are part of a larger plan. A noble plan. A plan to save the sons and daughters of man, or what’s left of them, after the war. A big war.
Okay, enough of my rambling. Davin and I need to get back to training. And you’ve got some reading to do, yeah?
Best regards,
Ariel Worthington

Hey there, I'm Buddy. I am a new author, so get out the sandpaper and let's smooth out the rough edges :-) Anyway, I write mostly fantasy, but right now my head is stuck in a world that I co-created and wrote about. So I am busy making different stories from the same place. So far I have only ventured into the digital domain and only published one book, but I will be adding more novellas and novels in the future. This group is amazing, wish I would have found it earlier.
My name is Sam. I'm currently writing my second book. My first book was written for a college class and is currently for sale on Amazon, iBooks, and a few other sites. I'm actually looking for people to review my first book on Amazon and iBooks (willing to send a free copy of the book in exchange for a review on either of those sites).
Hi: I’ve written a book, "Warrior Patient," that can save lives sucked into the quicksand of modern medicine. It’s a funny but very serious book, written in the 2nd person. My best review started off: “I think this book may have saved my life.” A great science fiction author wrote the review. Saving authors, I think, is good.My second book just published last month, “Wrinkled Heartbeats” is about a war hero who gets involved with some crooks and the only person who can save him is the person hired to kill him. A month after publication, it climbed onto a few Amazon best-seller lists. It’s a fast-paced read.
Thank you for this thread.
Hello,
I've recently joined Goodreads after self-publishing my first novel, Descent Into Madness. I love to write, but in the past year and a half I've decided to take it seriously. I know next to nothing about the marketing aspect of the self-publishing world, so I have a lot to learn - but I am both excited and eager to dive in!

I just published a book called "If So Carried by the Wind," on KDP and create space. I mostly write creative non-fiction, a genre that for some reason doesn't seem to exist as a choice on very many sights on the internet, and yet one I thought was hip and new. I'm getting an essay up on the Beatdom website this weekend about the similarities and distinctions between the East Coast Beats and the West Coast Beats.

I'm Duane Wurst. I have always been involved in the arts, painting, sculpture and theater. Three years ago I decided to write down a story that was stuck in my mind. After learning everything I could about self publishing I completed my first novel, "In Search of Elysium".Because I have a background in graphic arts and publishing, I did all of the layouts and cover for my book. With good sales, I was hooked. The hardest part of this adventure is marketing. I'm still working on that one.
At this time I have published my third novel, "Deadly Sixteen" and I'm working on the squeal to my Second novel, "Death on The Point". Writing has again sparked my creative juices and I am also back to painting and photography.
You can find more at www.planet-elysium.com
Thank you!
Hi, My Name is Lian Nathaniel. I am only 12, but I have been reviewing books since I was in the third grade. I started making video reviews for a website called We Give Books, for my blog, Summer of Fun. My blog is mostly reports on community events and interviews with people around town, but I started helping out reviewing kid books at I Read What You Write. It is nice to meet you all.
My name is Shawn Lacey. I released my first book recently called "A Year in the Life of a Cross Border Commuter: Poetry, Humor and Photography Created in Canada and the United States". I enjoy writing poetry that tells a story. I am working on a few short stories also, but I am at some point interested in taking an old manuscript I have and shaping it into a screenplay. I will probably have to find a collaborator, as that medium is so foreign to me.
