K.B. NelsonHi everyone! I'm still cutting my teeth on technology in general...and would you believe I write science fiction/speculative fiction? HA! "We teach best what we most need to learn", I suppose, is quite true.
I work a lot with the question, "what does it mean to be human?" and enjoy pushing the envelope of what futurists like Ray Kurzweil are positing for the machine-human co-evolution. I do often use gay characters, but not always. (I think I sort of fall in love with my main characters and don't want to share them with women characters. HA!)
I am a voracious reader as well, usually one fiction and one non-fiction book every few days (I write poetry and comparative religion works under the name Kimberly Beyer-Nelson). It's the one way an introvert can sort of be an extrovert, laughing and crying with the characters bounded by ink or marks on a computer screen.
I am a writer who never outlines. I once worked with Mickey Zucker Reichert who is an outlining pro when she creates, but I couldn't do it that way. My characters arise from the non-logical and non-rational part of my brain--put them on the page and anything can and will happen. And usually, they do thing I would never have "thought" of. That's the joy of writing for me...I get to "see" the story first!
Great to be here with you all, readers and writers alike!
Hey! I'm Emma Iadanza. I've published one book (but I'm working on a sequel... very slowly), and some short stories (or writing for my English classes) on goodreads and on my blog. I enjoy reading historical fiction novels and classics (that includes epics such as the Divine Comedy and the Aeneid). I play classical violin and piano (not necessarily classical), and have played Carnegie Hall and other smaller concert halls. I love classical music and opera and it often greatly influences my writing.
Hi Everyone. I am really enjoying goodreads so far. Have two books on amazon "Restoration" and "Plain Truth". Restoration is a sci-fi series. Plain Truth is a book about Legalism in the modern Christian Church. I also started a blog about creating a brand for yourself. It will be sort of a diary of my progress whether I fail or succeed with marketing.
Hi James, I just started a blog about my experience with publishing two of my books. It was quite an experience and I would love to help others. Feel free to ask me questions on my blog or maybe another section of this group.
Anyone else out there who has yet to publish and are thinking about doing so on KDP via amazon, please feel free to ask me questions about the process.
Hello all! I'm Randy. I have a unique story. I started writing after witnessing first hand the healing power of Jesus Christ. I shed tears of joy often.Be Blessed. Stay Blessed.

Hi…It's nice to be involved with fellow writers and readers. :) I love reading and writing. (My social life is just that). :D I have my first novel published titled UNDYING VENGEANCE. undying vengeance It's the first of a Vampire trilogy. The genre is horror/supernatural. My writing inspiration and literary hero is Stephen King. I grew up reading, more like devouring, every single one of his books. *love* My novel is available in Paperback and as an eBook. You can check it out here on Goodreads, or at www.amazon.com/author/klburnham
Looking forward to making new friends here. ;)
Hello, my name is Robert Midgett. I am 15 years old. I started writing my first published novel when I was 13. My publisher is Same Old Story Productions. 'Vagabonds' came out in September of 2013. It seems to be doing well. I hope to finish another one in the series this year. Any advice to a newly published author is appreciated. And please add me as a friend.
I write young adult romance. My debut STUBBORN was released this morning! My second young adult romance THE HAUNT OF THIRTEEN CURVES will be released in June. Hello! My name is S.M. Knowles and Aubrey Kendall! I would like to admit that I have duel personalities... lol Okay, so let me explain. ;)S.M. Knowles is for my YA genre of books. I love YA and always find myself reading these type of books as well as NA.
Aubrey Kendall is who I write under for NA. I would like to separate the two because I want a chance for schools to look at my books as well and don't want them confused. :)
I am from New York and currently live in Arizona. I really like it out here but I am ready for a chance. I do have a full time job; however, I make writing my full time job as well. It hasn't been easy but luckily my family has been supportive. :)You can find me on Facebook - www.facebook.com/smknowles1
My first book I have out is called Unusual Awakening. It's part of the Rylee Everley Series. Currently the 2nd book is in editing and close to being completed. The third book is written but I need to go through it again and make sure everything is the way I want it.
Totally excited in meeting new people!
Hi everyone. I'm going to be something of a mystery man because my latest book has just been published under a pseudonym and that's what I'll be using here. At least for now. I plan on officially "registering" the new book here tomorrow (since I only joined today), but for now all I'll say is that it's a book about the JonBenet Ramsey case. And now you know why I decided NOT to reveal my true identity. My involvement with this case has, over the years, become something of an embarrassment -- because everyone has an opinion and so many have convinced themselves they've solved it and the "crackpot" factor is so very high. Only a few of those closest to me know about my obsession, and it's embarrassing even for them. What I do NOT want is for colleagues who've read my more scholarly and theoretical writings, or are familiar with my creative work, to learn about my obsession as it will then be too easy for them to dismiss me as a "nut job." Which I may very well be. Lah dee dah, as the saying goes.
I actually do believe I've solved it. But I hesitated a long time before publishing, mainly out of embarrassment. I finally decided to publish, largely out of a sense of responsibility to the cause of justice in a mystery that looks more and more as though it will never be resolved and a brutal killer will walk free. I think I know who this person is and feel responsible for sharing that knowledge, come what may.
Anyhow, here I am. Feel free to ask any questions you might have about me or the Ramsey case.

Hello, I have been a member of this group for some time but I have failed to introduce myself! How rude of me! My name is Alex Paramo and first and foremost I am a dad to a wonderful 7 yr old little girl(Marisol)! Of interest to this group is the fact that I am a writer and recently launched a digital publishing company: Community Publishing http://communitypublishing.org. I will discuss Community Publishing in the future but for now I want to focus on me! ;-) I am originally from NYC where I was born and raised. My parents are from Colombia, which is for my geographically challenged friends, in South America! I studied Anthropology, and History, minored in Sociology, Secondary Education and Psychology at Queens College, CUNY. Yup I am a public school kinda dude! I moved to New Mexico, which is, for the sake of my geographically challenged friends, in the U.S.! I moved for grad school - and I wanted to become a Counselor but became a Web Designer instead! Ok enough with that boring stuff: one day I decided I wanted to be a writer so I called my boss and told him to stuff it, closed my eyes really tight and began my literary career. In 2013 I gave birth to Princess Marisol & the Moon Thieves (http://princessmarisolandthemoonthiev...) which is the middle story of a trilogy of stories revolving around Princess Marisol (my little girl). This book is actually in multimedia eBook format, which means that it is narrated, has clickable informative links, contains wonderful music and has incredible illustrations! The story itself is a multicultural tale about a little girl who travels the world to find the moon (which has been stolen by two musicians, the moon thieves) and return it to it's rightful place in the sky! There are many important lessons (like the need for empathy, personal responsibility, atonement, finding your inner-voice/confidence) in the multimedia eBook for kids and adults alike. One price buys you the English and Spanish version! Princess Marisol & the Moon Thieves has been adapted for the stage and will begin a national tour in June 2014!!Please check out the website for the book for more info: http://princessmarisolandthemoonthiev.... I look forward to reading more about you all and your projects as well as hearing your feedback about mine! Cheers...

Totally new . . . andEarthlings just finished / published my first novel . . . and would love to hear what anyone thinks!?!?!?! While the book is available on Amazon and B & N, happy to share some free PDFs to get some feedback. Hi! Thanks for having this wonderful group! I'm Kari Aguila, and I have recently self-published my first novel Women's Work. It's on GoodReads, of course, along with Amazon, Nook, Kindle, etc. The story asks the question, "What if women ruled the world?", and the answer is not as simple as you might think.
I'm also a voracious reader, and usually manage to get through a couple books each month. The only time I have to read any more is when my three small children are drifting off to sleep beside me. There have been many nights I've pulled my nose out of a book only to realize that they have been asleep for hours and I hadn't even noticed.
I am so happy to have found GoodReads. It's like the Facebook for awesome reader people!
Hi everyone! I'm Kari Aguila and my new book Women's Work asks the question, "What if women ruled the world?" The answer isn't as simple as you might expect. Women's Work is a compelling novel that examines a morally complex situation -- under the banner of peace and gender equality, women have taken control after a devastating global war. However, small groups of men roam the country viciously indicating that the pendulum may have swung too far. Kate is a widowed mother of three, struggling to survive through clever engineering, persistence and courage. When a man shows up on her porch one night, gaunt and filthy, will she risk everything to help him?
As an indie author, I am always looking for feedback. I'll be doing a Goodreads Q&A in March, and I am always happy to hear your comments and questions. You can enter the Giveaway for a free signed copy, too!
I am also an avid reader, though these days the only time I get to read is when my three young children are drifting off to sleep beside me. There have been many times I have pulled my nose out of a book only to realize that they have been asleep for hours. I love those nights!

Hi everyone, How lovely to meet you!I have just published my first book, Babe Driven, on Amazon. I love writing, but I started my career as an inventor and artist.
I began writing as a way to occupy my mind when my daughter was unwell (she is fine now). The sunshine and friendship in the book took my troubles away for the time I was writing it. Now I have an absolute passion for writing and am currently pages deep into my second book. I look forward to hearing from and being inspired by you all. Lizzie

Hi, I'm Ken Doggett, age 68, living in the US, State of Georgia. I recently revived a writing career that was somewhat successful in what they called the Prozine market a few years ago, but which I had to abandon so that I could make a real living that pays me a retirement. Happy to see that publisher/editor tyranny has finally been overthrown in order to make publishing easier, but sorry to see that self-publishing has no quality standards. In spite of that, and maybe its too late in life, but I have two Science Fiction ebooks, both also recently issued in paperback form; I won't bore you with the titles. Since I just joined this website, I have no friends here, so if you also need a friend, let me know. I'll "friend" anybody even if nobody else likes you.

Hello and Happy New year to everyone on Goodreads. My name is Von Rashawn Coleman and I'm a self published author of the military SF novel TIC ONLINE and a 18 year active duty sailor finishing out my career onboard the USS San Diego stationed in...you guessed it, San Diego! The idea for my story came to me back in 2003 when I was standing watch onboard the guided missile destroyer USS Winston S Churchill. I've been a science fiction fan my entire life and my love for it will never subside! TIC ONLINE was influenced by a combination of world events, classic anime and science fiction classics like Robotech Macross Saga, Starblazers, Buck Rogers, Aliens, Tranformers G1 series, Star Wars, Star Trek and many many others. TIC ONLINE is available on Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/Tic-Online-Von-... Thank you for taking the time to read my introduction and I hope you take the time to discover TIC ONLINE
