I love that series! One of my favs :)

Lea (Peeta's #1 Fangirl!) (3teofilea3) | 627 comments I like both series. But THG had more too it. Sure in Twilight there is fighting, but no one dies. In Twilight, none of the characters spoke to me, seemed special. In THG, all of the characters were unigues and their own. Plus, Twilight I saw what was coming, I could never guess what was gonna happen in THG.

Lea (Peeta's #1 Fangirl!) (3teofilea3) | 627 comments It would be great if she did, right? Nice twist PLUS tradgedy!

Lea (Peeta's #1 Fangirl!) (3teofilea3) | 627 comments *shaking head* Why do books have Happily Ever Afters? It would be so much better if they had a Sadily Ever After!

Lea (Peeta's #1 Fangirl!) (3teofilea3) | 627 comments Yes!!! I love tragic endings!

message 661: by [deleted user] (new)

Maybe not a Saddily Ever After, but a Not-So-Happily Ever After. I don't want every last person to die. But I do like Hunger Games-style bittersweet endings.

message 662: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes! I loved the ending. "But there are worse games to play" It's such an awesome ending line!

message 663: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah...not quite "All was well", but really good anyway.

message 664: by [deleted user] (last edited Dec 18, 2011 12:26PM) (new)

i have never read the Twilight saga, but mean to. i loved the hunger games though. And Peeta is way better than Gale.

Lea (Peeta's #1 Fangirl!) (3teofilea3) | 627 comments Snickerdoodle wrote: "Yeah...not quite "All was well", but really good anyway."

I do love the last line too and the bittersweet ending :)

message 666: by [deleted user] (new)

It's good writing. I pretty much have the last paragraph memorized: "That's when I make a list in my head of every act of goodness I've seen someone do. It's like a game. Repetitive. Even a little tedious after more than twenty years.
But there are worse games to play."
It's one of the more realistic endings I've read. It's not like, 'and the prince and princess got married and lived happily ever after.'

message 667: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah...the books I read, the end lines are mostly symbolic and whatever, but one I read was something like "And they left the courthouse and went home." I was like really, author? Really?

Lea (Peeta's #1 Fangirl!) (3teofilea3) | 627 comments Yes, definitely. THG isn't a princess bvook. It's real and war and the hunger games have lasting affects on people

message 669: by [deleted user] (new)

YES!!! It's not a fairy tale, it's (un)realistic fiction...It has a satisfiying ending...

message 670: by Riah (new)

Riah | 65 comments I like any of the listed realistic endings and happily ever endings or the tragic endings. All have their place!

message 671: by [deleted user] (new)

Well...some books needed the happily ever after ending. Harry Potter, for instance. Poor Jo Rowling would probably get death threats if she killed many more people.

Lea (Peeta's #1 Fangirl!) (3teofilea3) | 627 comments Hmmmm....Yes about HP

message 673: by Leah (new)

Leah Kelly | 1 comments In the Hunger games, the love is raw and wonderful. Twilight is all about how important it is to have a boyfriend and it's just plain annoying. Bella's "love" for Edward is not love, it's simply obsession.

message 674: by [deleted user] (new)

Bella is just annoying. There. Summed up everything I think about Twilight. And normally I suck at summaries.

I can't. Too small. But I can tell what the font is: Adobe Garamond Pro, right? And that's what The Hunger Games are done in.

Lea (Peeta's #1 Fangirl!) (3teofilea3) | 627 comments Oh it's the last page before the epilogue. I know because the last sentece is "Real"

message 680: by ポテト (new)

ポテト I started reading the first Twilight book and I couldn't finish it. It was AWFUL. So definitely The Hunger Games. Collins had me hooked the moment I started reading it and those cliffhangers at the end of each chapter made me continue, I couldn't stop! I liked the romance in The Hunger Games, too.

Lea (Peeta's #1 Fangirl!) (3teofilea3) | 627 comments The Hunger Games by a landslide.

message 682: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (hungergamesaddict321) | 28 comments This is a discussion about which one you like better. Not pounding on twilight or HG . Dont bring up the giver or any other book. Read the freakin discussion label. And the answer to the question that's actually supposed to be answered is I would rather read HG.

message 683: by [deleted user] (new)

Thank you!

Lea (Peeta's #1 Fangirl!) (3teofilea3) | 627 comments I would rather read THG...

Lea (Peeta's #1 Fangirl!) (3teofilea3) | 627 comments I dooo!!

Lea (Peeta's #1 Fangirl!) (3teofilea3) | 627 comments *nods* So HG or Twilight?

Lea (Peeta's #1 Fangirl!) (3teofilea3) | 627 comments *smiles* Yes!

message 688: by Olivia (new)

Olivia Dunn | 4 comments HUNGER GAMES ALL THE WAY! THat shouldn't even be a question! (no offense to any Twilight lovers)

message 689: by Patricia (new)

Patricia (pa3cia) The Hunger Games, cause it's more original then Twilight.

message 690: by [deleted user] (new)

Hunger games is winning. (Just saying)

message 691: by [deleted user] (new)

Yay :)

message 692: by Kirby (new)

Kirby | 30 comments well, to be fair, though- this is in the hunger games group. I'm pretty sure that this same question would garner a different response in the twilight lovers group...

message 693: by [deleted user] (new)

That's true.

message 694: by Horcruxiatus (last edited Jan 24, 2012 03:06PM) (new)

Horcruxiatus (ATeam) | 22 comments Either way, Hunger Games, for obvious reasons.

Edit;
In regards to the 'last line' topic thingeh on page 15, I expected the last line to be like, "A game no-one should have ever had to play."

message 695: by [deleted user] (new)

Actually, she did. But it was that coupled with a million other, far more depressing reasons.

message 696: by Alysha (new)

Alysha B | 5 comments Olivia wrote: "HUNGER GAMES ALL THE WAY! THat shouldn't even be a question! (no offense to any Twilight lovers)"

Haha... Agreed...

message 697: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lisavdb) Hunger Games. Do'h??

message 698: by Tatum (new)

Tatum (tatum_r) That doesn't even count as a question. THE HUNGER GAMES ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!! I can't stand Tw*l*ght.

message 699: by [deleted user] (new)
