Hunger Games for me, the Twilight Saga went WAY ott!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just hope the same doesnt happen when THG film comes out, it would be soo annoying if it did.

message 455: by [deleted user] (new)

im all for THG being big and that, but not idiotically like twilight

message 456: by [deleted user] (new)

some of the books shops i go into now have nothing other than dark romance novels, it is soo frustrating, why cant other authors come up with their own ideas!!!! they better not write rip offs of THG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

message 457: by Alina (new)

Alina (tobiasheart) | 61 comments cant wait for THG movie and either the breaking dawn movies

message 458: by Lunarshadows656 (new)

Lunarshadows656 | 1 comments The Hunger Games hands down. Twilight was very alluring in the way she wrote but lack and character depth completely. Most of the characters were just soo flat and Bella is really shallow I dont ever once remember reading that she liked Edward for anything other than his good looks. In the Hunger Games at least Katniss a lot of depth and is a very complex character. Plus the Hunger Games had a way better story line anyways lol.

message 459: by [deleted user] (new)

totally agree with you on all of that!!! :D
THG also made me think of the future could be like, hopefully not that bad but who knows? :s

message 460: by Alina (new)

Alina (tobiasheart) | 61 comments yeah agree, i like katniss more than bella, cuz bella was kinda depressing and u'r right, katniss is braver and better

message 461: by [deleted user] (new)

THG has better morals too, I mean breaking dawn doesn't exactly give off a good image to young girls.
I know there was the fake pregnancy and everything but that was for the interview and at the end it says that it was 15 years before they actually did have kids.

message 462: by Aisha (new)

Aisha (aisha_b) The Hunger games <3
why? Well they actually have a storyline, unlike twilight etc.. I love the characters because they are mature and mentally strong. The books were exciting and unpredictable. However when reading twilight I didn't need to read the end to know how it ended.

message 463: by [deleted user] (new)

THG is just sooo much better in every aspect!!

message 464: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) Plus, It has writing that isn't a disgrace to the English language.

message 465: by [deleted user] (new)

good point!! :D

message 466: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) And we all know that the English language has taken some hard blows lately.

message 467: by [deleted user] (new)

its a wonder it can still be recognisable!!! if you're going to write a book write it in standard English so as it is understanable! :P

message 468: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) Tarlar wrote: "its a wonder it can still be recognisable!!! if you're going to write a book write it in standard English so as it is understanable! :P"

And spelling recognizable like recognisable isn't helping. Ah well.

message 469: by [deleted user] (new)

sorry!! i thought it looked odd. i hate it when people put a Z at the end of a word rather than an S

message 470: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) Well, Z is rare enough already. Don't get rid of it.

message 471: by [deleted user] (new)

yeah, but it's not standard English either. and I hate it when words have different spellings, like: favour and favor, civilization and civilisation etc.

message 472: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) Armor and Armour.

message 473: by [deleted user] (new)

it just gets confusing! why do words have to be like that? I see the point with things like see and sea, hear and here, where and wear, and I'm going to stop that before I lose my train of thought. But otherwise what's the point?!

message 474: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) This has strayed off topic.

message 475: by [deleted user] (new)

oops!! :s

message 476: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) No problem.

Actually I meant I put 10^8 invisible comments there repeating "Twilight v. Twilight" but okay. That's just how my mind works.

And Faith, please post that on the Advertising thread. :D

message 481: by Estela (new)

Estela (estelabanana) In times of all books are made of vampire stories, Hunger games was made. I'm not a fan of Vampires at all and that includes Twilight. :P

message 482: by Poppitta (new)

Poppitta | 1 comments i love hunger games my favourite books!!!!!!!! when i finish reading i feel so empty, because i knew I'm not going to find something better.

message 483: by Alina (new)

Alina (tobiasheart) | 61 comments my fav book r the hunger games and then the 2nd fav r twilight

message 484: by Trey (new)

Trey | 1 comments I want to start off saying that I am guy and have read both Twilight and The Hunger Games! I loved them both, but The Hunger Games is so so so much better! Bella can be very annoying at times as can Jacob. Peeta and Katniss were never annoying to me though! That is my comment, thanks for reading!

message 485: by Alina (new)

Alina (tobiasheart) | 61 comments OMG u'r a GUY and read Twilight! Wow, u'r the BEST! I lov THG too, IT AHW-SOME

Bella and Jacob are sooo annoying!!!

message 488: by Abi (last edited Jul 29, 2011 11:30AM) (new)

Abi (abigail-but-you-can-call-me-abi) | 20 comments The hunger games!! Twlight is way too soft, they had a battle in BD and nobody died! not even a scratch, Stephanie Meyer was trying to milk the series so everyone could be happy, Suzanne Collins on the other hand wrote what she wanted to, people died, awesome people but come on even fantasy books with sparkly vampires should be a little dark and realistic.

Wow! sorry I think I ranted a little. :)

message 489: by [deleted user] (new)

I was thinking over it all and realised how imaginary twilight is, they sparkle, ie the people looking at them in the sun have been poisoned with tracker jacker venom. :P

message 490: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) That's not really fair. But I can't really criticize you. I haven't read it either. Not that subtracting our votes would make the outcome any different.

message 491: by Hannah (new)

Hannah Cluver (smilestargirl13) | 96 comments The Hunger Games all the way. I tried to read Twilight, but couldn't get into it. I read the Hunger Games Trilogy faster than I ever read any three books

Jessica | 14 comments Abi wrote: "The hunger games!! Twlight is way too soft, they had a battle in BD and nobody died! not even a scratch, Stephanie Meyer was trying to milk the series so everyone could be happy, Suzanne Collins on..."

No, but you are right. Suzanne Collin's made it that way on purpose. As you probably know, she took some of it from her dad's stories of Vietnam. I've read lots of true war stories and her story is realistic. That's what I loved about it.

Danna Hannah wrote: "The Hunger Games all the way. I tried to read Twilight, but couldn't get into it. I read the Hunger Games Trilogy faster than I ever read any three books"

true! TWILIGHT is, for me, unrelatable |:

message 494: by Samm (new)

Samm | 1 comments the Hunger Games hands down. really against twilight? come on.

message 495: by Josh (new)

Josh Tremino | 2 comments I loved Twilight, but for me, Hunger Games was more creative. I loved the gladiator story line along with the critique of reality TV and the divisions between rich and poor.

message 496: by Tatiana (new)

Tatiana | 1 comments Thereis no decision here to make what-so-ever! My answer? The Hunger Games HANDS DOWN!!!!!
twilight is just to cheezy and the it bored me to DEATH. The Hunger Games romance and love triangle was thrilling and the action was detailed and the books always left with waiting and wanting more.

message 497: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 14 comments Is Suzanne Collins writing any more anytime soon? Not Hunger Games, but other books?

message 498: by Julia (new)

Julia | 3 comments I like both but the Hunger Games is wayyy better.

Catherine | 7 comments Rachel (aka. Kaiserin Sisi) wrote: "Hunger Games. Twilight poses no competition at all.

-Twilight: 3"

YES. YES YES YES YEEEEEES.

message 500: by Catherine (last edited Aug 05, 2011 11:12AM) (new)

Catherine | 7 comments Hunger Games. Definitely.

The Hunger Games is about children 12-18 who are forced to battle to the death in an arena every year -while their families, friends and the Capitol watch for entertainment, and to remind them that there must never be another uprising.

Twilight is about how important it is to have a boyfriend.

Who agrees?
