GR stats measure # books read per year, but also pages. You can toggle back & forth between them.

I finally finished my first book of the year and am starting Parade's End. Maybe I'll get two in for 2012.
I just started-The Mark Inside: A Perfect Swindle, a Cunning Revenge, and a Small History of the Big Con
The beginning is about financial cons and swindles since American colonial days. Interesting history and so little has changed.
In a few minutes I'll currently be reading five books. Number five is going to be A Cruel Bird Came to the Nest and Looked In.

Sally wrote: "I put it on my to-read list a LONG time ago. Like to swap somehthing when you're finished, Youndy?"Sally - I got it from the library. But you should move it up your list, it was a good read. I found the background information interesting, and I liked how the author put the story of Colonel Foster in the context of the author's own journey, alongside the stories of other explorers that did the same quests.
Last night I finished Fifty Shades of Grey - E.L. James. It was an intense books. It had me crying, laughing and even cringing at the events of Mr Grey and Ms Steele. Now I am going to read Fifty Shades Darker - E.L. James.
Charly wrote: "Starting Sarah's Key."It was pretty good, not my favorite but a unique story. Let me know what you think.
Lobstergirl wrote: "Middlemarch was excellent, I highly recommend it to all y'all bitches."I read it years ago and have thought about re-reading it. I just get distracted by all the other books begging to be read.
I have finished Fifty Shades Darker - E.L. James. Now I am going to read Fifty Shades Freed - E.L. James.
I'm on the final stretch of 11/22/63. I have 5 hours (out of 30) to go.I'm starting a week long read-a-thon tomorrow morning and hope to read Pitcairn's Island, In One Person, The Crossing Places, and The Graveyard Book.
The "You'll Love This One" group has started doing read-a-thons with the aim of reducing your TRB list. Sometimes we have 24 hour read-a-thons; others are a week long. Here's a link to the one starting tomorrow: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/8...
After the last TBR Toppler (which is what we call them), we decided on getting custom tea blends and have come up with two names and flavours. I'm in the process of finalizing the details with the company that does custom blends. That should explain all the mention of tea on the thread.
Sally wrote: "Janice! I'm almost done too. Can you believe the way this is wrapping up?"I finished it this evening. It's one of the best books I've read this year.
Janice - I like the looks of the group you mod, but I'm too flaky to stick with group reads on a regular basis. I really enjoyed 11/22/63, too!

We're an easy going bunch. Nobody cracks the whip. :)
Going to read Code Name Verity. Just finished Blankets and I loved it. So far I have loved all the graphic novels I have read by Craig Thompson. Beautiful both in the art and poetry of his works.
Truth: A History and a Guide for the Perplexed. I'm feeling dispirited because of hating this so far.
I started Freakonomics: A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything a couple days ago. I know I'm like 8 years late, but I've seen people referencing it lately so I thought I should finally see what all the fuss was about.

I started Nothing Daunted but am having a very hard time getting into it. I'm considering reading my sister's copy of Krakatoa instead.

Halfway through Chronic City. Just starting The Counterfeiters. I have also been nibbling on A Book of Luminous Things: An International Anthology of Poetry.

I just started to discover the wonderful sarcasm of Mr. Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden in Storm Front. I think I'm falling in love...
