A Scream Goes Through the House: What Literature Teaches Us About Life. I'm also debating starting A Passage to India sometime soon.
This morning I finished The Seventh Sister - Z.L. Arkadie. Now I am going back to The Man From U.N.D.E.A.D. - The Curious Case Of The Kidnapped Chemist - Darren Humphries and dipping into Stone Rain - Linwood Barclay.
I haven't posted in this thread lately. I finished The Night Circus on audiobook and started The Cypress House. I gave up on Apart From Love even thought it had been given to me to review. I couldn't turn one more page. So I've bounced back to a good ol' standby genre to cleanse my palate with The House at Sea's End.
Having just finished The Man From U.N.D.E.A.D. - The Curious Case Of The Kidnapped Chemist, now I am off to read Stone Rain as it needs to be sent to a friend.
Emily wrote: "What did you think of The Night Circus? It's sitting near the top of my TBR pile..."I enjoyed it, but I didn't love it. It's quite ethereal and very descriptive. If you like a plot driven book, you won't find it here. I was disappointed with the ending.
Emily wrote: "What did you think of The Night Circus? It's sitting near the top of my TBR pile..."I adored it, Emily, but I was in a non-plot-driven-book mood when I read it.
I just finished East of Eden. Loved it. Want to read next something good and long and generational. Before this I read this year both 1Q84 and Toss of a Lemon.
Maybe I'll try again the Indian series Lg recommended a few years ago.

Yes it was. I want to reread Go Ask Alice.

Lately I've been reading through my nonfiction books from the library quite hastily, and then renewing them so I can reread them. Because I've already forgotten 30% of what was in them.
Very close to the end of Game of Thrones, I think I might try the Night Circus as an interlude before book two.
Emily wrote: "What did you think of The Night Circus? It's sitting near the top of my TBR pile..."It was very good, surprisingly good even; you should move it up the pile.
I'm doing a quick reread of Piano Notes: The World of the Pianist before it goes back to the libarry.
Yesterday I started and today I finished listening to Killer in The Woods: A Psychological Thriller - R. Barri Flowers
Lobstergirl wrote: "I've never read anything by JCO. A lot of people like her, I am led to believe."I adore Joyce Carol Oates, especially "We Were the Mulvaneys."
i love her historical-genre trilogy: Bellefleur, A Bloodsmoor Romance, and Mysteries of Winterthurn.
Just finished Jeff in Venice, Death in Varanasi. I have no idea what to say. Part I was strange in its way and Part II was very strange. The random grossness throughout was also strange. So, overall, a strange reading experience. Not sure what's up next on the queue for me. I feel certain it will be less strange.
Janice wrote: "Started 11/22/63 on audiobook. This one should keep me busy for awhile. It's 30 hours in length."that will definitely keep you busy! 30 hours is a lot for listening to a book. I usually max out around 14. Let us know how it goes.
I'm currently reading Good Night, Mr. Tom, after finding it in a charity shop for 66p. I should also be reading The 4 Percent Universe: Dark Matter, Dark Energy, and the Race to Discover the Rest of Reality, but have been avoiding it in favour of fiction. I will get to it though.
Finished Footprints on the Beach - Aleksandar Žiljak, was a nice relaxing story of love from 2 different time zones. Now I am going to read Abide with Me - Ian Ayris.
I just finished Please Look After Mom for a f2f book club. The story is told in 2nd person, which I didn't like one bit. I also thought the story was simplistic and too sentimental. I just started The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. So far I am enjoying it. I haven't seen the just released movie, yet.
man i am going through clash of kings which is part 2 in the game of thrones series. really good and i love it but seems like it never ends. i have the first 4 books as a set on my ipad and it says i am like 17% done and i read and read and that number barely changes
That's the trouble with those doorstopper books. The story may be fantastic, but they get a bit overwhelming. Good luck!I'm currently reading The Lost City of Z: A Tale of Deadly Obsession in the Amazon. So far (about 1/3 into it), it's really fantastic. I'm hooked.
This morning I finished Abide with Me - Ian Ayris. Now I am going to see what the hype is about and read Fifty Shades of Grey - E.L. James

I downloaded all 5 books and now having been reading book 2 for a week I am 19% in (on my kindle). Loving the writing and the story but starting to feel that slight restlessness wondering about all those other books I could be reading...
