~Geektastic~ (atroskity) | 3205 comments Our local library is very deficient in the comic/graphic novel/art book department. I'll have to see if I can find it at the city library near my office.

Sarah | 13814 comments My local library has very little, but the inter branch loan system is my friend.

~Geektastic~ (atroskity) | 3205 comments I wish our inter-library loan system was better. The system only loans between 3 small libraries, with very little difference in their catalogs. Ours is actually the largest of the 3.

My local library just hooked up with the Ohio university library inter-library loan system, so in addition to requesting books from other public libraries in the whole state, I can request them from college libraries too!

Ooooh. Sometimes I wistfully page through the offerings at the County system rather than the city. I think I could probably get a card in the county if I tried, but I'm loyal.

message 2122: by Phil (last edited Dec 06, 2011 07:39AM) (new)

Phil | 11837 comments I was at Barnes & Noble a few days ago, waiting for my wife to finish shopping at Bath & Body Works. Can't leave a bookstore without a purchase, right? So I bought one.

When I got home, I looked it up on GR. Perhaps I should have done that first. Turns out it has received lukewarm reviews, including one from our very own LG.

The book is The Princess of Burundi and I swear it looked interesting as I browsed it in the store.

same here, but I couldnt wait any more, I am starting this, while I am in the middle of the Sword of Truth Series for the 7th time ( I always re-read the series when a new book is released); while also at book 2 of the Walking Dead graphic novel series, but those books I spend for time waiting for them to come in the mail than I do reading them, only takes an hour and a half to read a whole book. Oh and I have Pillars of the Earth on my iPhone for when Im on the road...... I know, Im trying to reach my goal of 200 books read this year alone, and I only started it in March

I liked that one. I'm not a big "topical fiction" fan, which seems to be her usual focus, but I thought it was handled very well. I liked the lawyer character a lot.

I like him, too. I'm dying to find out just exactly why he has his constant companion.

I've never read anything she's written but I've heard so many rave reviews about this one. I finally decided I could step away from my usual genres to see what all the fuss was about.
