I'm working through Wednesday. It's very quiet here this morning. Not much traffic on the street, either. I guess some people managed to save some vacation time.
Working Monday & Tuesday. It will be a quiet week here also.
I'm working from home today and Tuesday, in the office Wednesday, home for turkey on Thursday, then back to the office on Friday. I have the option of working from home Friday, but with guests and a 2-year-old running around, I could use the peace and quiet of my office space.
yup. in an airport right now headed to Lynchburg, VA (actually Blacksburg, VA) until Wed and then home until next monday
I'm working through Wednesday, and I have Friday off - it's a staff holiday. It's finally settled: Thanksgiving is at the in-laws this year. Whew! No cooking for me, just eating. Yay!
Since I work every Saturday, I always get Monday off.I work Tuesday, Wednesday and Frdiay--we are closed Thursday.
I don't mind working Friday--I wasn't plannng on going near any store for any reason---I shop later, when it is not a mob scene.
i dont know if you consider it work, on account of the lack of getting paid, but im packing everyday except thanksgiving.. we need to be fully packed in a week so i should get on that..
I've been off since last Friday but I have to go back Thursday evening (I work 7P-7A). We won't have any scheduled surgeries of course but the world of transplant is very unpredictable, plus we get a lot of "off-service" patients and patients who have had transplants in the past and are coming back in with complications. Hopefully our census won't be down too much since that means the much-dreaded "floating" to another unit. Don't know what my husband will be doing for Thanksgiving. True story: a couple of years ago I was working and he went to his stepsister's house for TG Dinner, and she put him at the "kids' table" which was in a whole 'nother room. Pretty rude.

Yay!
Arrrrgh!I just remembered we are doing a pot-luck at work tomorrow night. Now I have to work and cook.
UGH! Everyone who's working and isn't off yet has been bragging that they're leaving early today... which means that no matter what, I'm gonna be here later today since I'll be closing the clinic all by myself. Selfish Meanie Bastardos. p.s. Obama's poking fun at a White House tradition.
Check this out (watch video).
I've always thought this was a weird Thanksgiving ritual/tradition.
done working! spent the last three days in VA working and got up at 4:30am to drive to the airport and catch a 6am flight from Lynchburg to ATL and then another flight to IND. stopped by the office on my drive home and said "see ya monday sucka's" and came home. my eyes are burning now. sleepytime will be wonderful tonight
Almost done... packing up to go home right NOW! And then, I get to vacuum the house. Because Mom is coming tomorrow, and I totally spaced that I'd have to do some housework to get ready.
I'm in my office right now, taking a break from boring design documents.

I'm teaching this morning and hanging out most of the afternoon, I think, and tomorrow morning I'm out in the schools for a couple of hours. My kids' school ends tomorrow at 12 but my wife has school through Wednesday so I'm with the kids. Most of the people around her canceled classes after tomorrow afternoon although technically we're supposed to teach through Wednesday at noon. Every skips Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, however, so those become "work days". The staff won't be working hard, either...I get the feeling Wednesday around here with be dead.
What about you? Are you working this week? What's your workplace like Thanksgiving week?
