An awesome book. I will be interested to hear what everyone else thinks of Hyperion. I still have clear visual images in my head of the all the characters and scenarios. Brilliantly written. I may well have to read it again!
Utterly amazing work. It's been a while since I read them, but I was so completely gripped when I did. A movie could be interesting!
This is very strange. I have been thinking about rereading Hyperion for some time. Today I have been going through a ton of book groups and there are several discussions going on about Hyperion right now.It must be a galactic conspiracy! They put the command in all of our minds to read it now! -grin-
Finished this a couple of weeks ago and I was well and truly impressed. The "novellas" within the book were all very different, fleshing out the characters extremely well. The only downside was that every start of a "character's story" ground the main story to a halt for a few moments before the character's story itself got to full speed and took you with it.
I liked the Poet's and the Academic's stories the best, personally.
