Ryan Can everyone please take a look at my writing ? I'm trying to promote it as much as I can so I can improve myself via the feedback I receive. Thank you http://www.goodreads.com/story/list/7...

David Bell (davidefcbell) | 4 comments David Bell here. I see there are several David Bells. Now I know why actors have to register 'stage names'. Meanwhile, I thought that getting my first rejection slip marked me as a proper writer. This forum is absolutely positively nicer. Does anyone out there feel that book publishing is going the same way as music? Harder work for the artist, but more control? Traditional structures collapsing to be replaced by a looser market of brave individuals> Or is it just hard work however you get your work out.

Susan Sparks | 1 comments Hello everyone,
I’m just starting to navigate my way around Goodreads, and am impressed with the setup and all the resources available. Promoting books without an agent/publisher behind you is a lonely and frustrating business, and so far removed from the creative process of writing that it’s easy to let it go once that book is on Amazon. There it is–looking so legitimate and professional on its page, but it might as well be floating in the middle of the ocean as far as visibility is concerned. So now that my second book has just been “published” I feel the need once again to do what I can to expose my books to the reading public. The first book is titled An Otherworldly Lullaby, and is basically a love story involving a blues guitarist. The second book is titled First Cousins, a coming-of-age story about twin brothers. There is, of course, much more information about them on this site, and Amazon.

I'll post the link to my book in the appropriate place, but here's my website. I'm listing useful writers tools there so let me know if there is anything I should add!

Christie (cbilbo) | 11 comments I'm just an avid reader. I'm beginning to wonder if I live under a rock. I'm accidently stumbling upon these wonderful authors and their books. My only question to myself is, why I haven't heard of them before. I love history, historical fiction, paranormal, sci-fi, biographies, political and thrillers. I would love to get suggestions about what is new and great books. Please, suggest away!

J.M.J. Williamson (jmjwilliamson) | 17 comments Hi everyone. I'm a new author, at least to the world of fiction, and published my first novel on Kindle last year ("Collision - A Sci Fi Romance"). Recently I joined the Goodreads author program. I'm a bit of a social networking dinosaur so this is all a bit new to me. Any advice from seasoned veterans will be welcome. My interests are in all things science fiction; but I also enjoy good thrillers (e.g. Dan Brown). I also have a love of sci fi movies, many of which started life as novels.

Does your interest in sci-fi extend to epic fantasies? If so, check out Vanna Smythe's books - http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...
or my own: http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...

My first book, "Jesika's Angel" is sci-fi rather than fantasy. Or try Sherrie Cronin's books, starting with "x0". http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...

We're all available on both Amazon and Smashwords.com

Raphael Harlan | 3 comments Hi, Vincent! Thanks for accepting me into this wonderful groups of authors and readers! I'm honored to be a member, and I look forward to talk about books and even add my insight to the group.

I have three e-books self-published in the Kindle store, and I plan on adding a second e-book to my mystery short story series, Breaking Debt. Right now, I'm editing other authors' e-book manuscripts. Not only I am an author and editor, but I'm also a reader of various genres. Again, thanks, Vincent.

Joyce Ross (KindnessisKey) | 5 comments It would be an honor to have you review my latest inspirational novel The Kindness Ambassador and the Sugarholic Prosecutor.

For a free digital copy of The Kindness Ambassador, please email me at indieauthorsclub@gmail.com.

Fact-based, the spiritual awakenings of the characters in The Kindness Ambassador and the Sugarholic Prosecutor (Kindness Is Key Training Inc. Balboa Press, January 2013 $19.95) are meant to inspire readers to explore their unique purpose-paths—on earth and eternally—bringing greater meaning, abundance and love into their personal journeys. Through to its thought-provoking conclusion, the romance woven throughout is a somewhat humorous and poignant glimpse into the hopeful manifestations of women everywhere.

About Me: I am a writer actively involved in the 'Kindness Movement' in Vancouver, British Columbia. My mission partner, E. Patricia Connor, and I are the co-founders of Kindness Is Key Training Inc. which publishes authentic stories from those who have been there in an anthology series titled Heartmind Wisdom. Annually, we host a musical concert and attempt the Guinness World Record for the Largest Human Peace Sign.

I can't remember exactly where, I think on the author header, on the right hand side, there's a place to upload a cover from your computer.

Tori Montes (wwwtorigoodreadscom) | 5 comments Hi my name is Victoria Montes and I have one book published by Bouncing Ball Books before it went out of business. It is called "A Diplomat's Daughter." At this time I've revamped it and retitled it "The Day the American Embassy Burned" and am looking for an agent. This social network stuff is really not my strong point but according to Chuck Sambucino we all need a writers platform. Only catch is how does one hold down a day job, find time to tweet, facebook, blog, read and write. It's exhausting.

The Persuasive Man by Philip G. Henley

Only on Kindle for the time being.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EON9LOA

http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Persuasiv...

A tale of greed, insider trading, love and misfortune, spanning the globe as a terminally ill businessman realises his luxurious existence will not help him. He tries to account for his past behaviour, his life, and loves. Ranging from London to Shanghai via New York, Hong Kong, and Dubai, his greed and behaviour alters his business and personal relationships. His persuasive ability brings him success, but at what cost?

Whether he is in his New York apartment, his French Château, or his St Kitts home, he does not know which relationships are real and which are false due to his past behaviour. Now he has to decide what to do with his money and how to say goodbye.
