Doug Solter (dougsolter) Hi Everyone!

I'm from Oklahoma and I write young adult fiction because I've fallen in love with the genre. The support I've received from YA writers and readers has been amazing and so inclusive.

Skid by Doug Solter

My debut ya racing novel SKID is now available everywhere books are sold. Here's more about the book:

Can a small-town girl with a big attitude balance a boy and a demanding racing career in Formula 1, the biggest racing circus in the world? Seventeen-year-old Samantha Sutton is just crazy enough to try.

Samantha pushes herself, pushes her car, pushes her luck at 200 miles per hour while battling Ferrari racing god and seven-time world champion Emilio Ronaldo.

Meanwhile, will Samantha’s friendship with Manny blossom into romance? Or will the distraction literally kill her?

If you like, please stop by my Goodreads author page and say hi!

Take care and happy reading!

Jimmy Threepwood and the Veil of Darkness.

Synopsis

Many centuries ago the Elders designed the world we live in, but they knew that through time and the advances in medicine and technology the world would slowly start to die and man would ultimately destroy the planet. The Elders created a prophecy that every two millennia four children would receive a mystical mark. The children would grow and one day be powerful enough to release the mighty beast Tyranacus, and purge the world of man, allowing it to heal before the life cycle would start again.

Margaret Threepwood was a gentle and loving wife and was due to give birth when tragedy struck and Margaret fell severely ill. The Gatekeeper of life and death appeared in the hospital ward and provided a one time deal that Margaret will live as long as her son Jimmy Threepwood was brought up unloved, uncared for and handed to the Gatekeeper and his minions on his eleventh birthday, where his destiny will be unveiled to him.

As Jimmy approached his eleventh birthday he noticed strange and unusual things happening. Firstly, a mysterious crow started to follow him around school; this ultimately led to a Bunson burner accident and an unusual 9 shaped scar forming on Jimmy’s arm. This was followed by Jimmy protecting his friend against the school bully, but one touch changed both Jimmy’s and the bullies’ lives forever.

Victoria Lamb | 1 comments Hi there everyone, I write YA paranormal historical romance for Corgi Books and have the first book in my new Tudor Witch series coming out on July 5th - only two weeks away, so I'm really excited!

The first book is called WITCHSTRUCK and is available as a digital book on the Random House website or on Amazon, or as a paperback online and at bookstores (in the UK).

Witchstruck

Witchstruck by Victoria Lamb

Meg Lytton has always known of her dark and powerful gift. Raised a student of the old magick by her Aunt Jane, casting the circle to see visions of the future and concocting spells from herbs and bones has always been as natural to Meg as breathing. But there has never been a more dangerous time to practise the craft, for it is 1554, and the sentence for any woman branded a witch is hanging, or burning at the stake.

Sent to the ruined Palace of Woodstock to serve the disgraced Princess Elizabeth, Meg's existence becomes more dangerous every day, with the constant threat of exposure by the ruthless witchfinder Marcus Dent, and the arrival of a young Spanish priest, Alejandro de Castillo, to whom Meg is irresistibly drawn.

Hope that sounds fun! Happy reading. Victoria x

Jenelle King's Warrior is the first book in The Minstrel's Song series that introduces its audience to the world of Tellurae Aquaous. In the first chapter, the realm of Aom-igh is threatened by the darkness of an ancient enemy that was thought to be only legend. A peaceful nation, Aom-igh stands little chance against the impending storm. A king, whose reluctant rise to power has lead to years of peace and prosperity, is given no choice but to seek desperate measures to defend his people. He calls upon his feisty daughter to venture out into the kingdom to seek the aid of a lost warrior; one who had defended Aom-igh in the past. The princess, who relishes the thought of the adventure, is in for more than she could have imagined as she embarks on the quest with her maid and a young squire. Along the path of their voyage they meet strangers with mysterious secrets, enemies whose wickedness would weaken the knees of the stoutest soldiers and creatures of lore long thought not to exist. However, the marvel of the adventure only just begins when they meet the man they have been sent to find, a man with a past as mysterious and a future as clouded as any they have ever known in life or legend. The hope of their world rests on the steel he wears at his side…

Rebecca Phillips Hi all! I recently published a contemporary YA two-book series.

Just You

Just You (Just You #1) by Rebecca Phillips

Fifteen-year-old Taylor Brogan knows that certain things in life are inevitable—-your first zit, your first period, and getting dumped by your boyfriend the minute someone better comes along. When her boyfriend Brian cheats on her, Taylor can’t even pretend to act surprised. After all, her own father left her mother for another woman after fourteen years of marriage, so it was only a matter of time before it happened to her too.

Through witnessing her parents' bitter divorce, Taylor has learned what she believes to be a certainty—-men cheat, men betray, men can’t be trusted. This is what she knows, even though her obsession with swans has taught her that at least some species mate for life.

Betrayed one time too many, Taylor vows to give up boys for good, or at least until she’s done with high school. But when her boy-crazy friend Robin drags her to a party and she meets sweet, gorgeous Michael Hurst, her resolve to stay single begins to crack. Robin, with her optimistic outlook on life and love, makes it her mission to convince Taylor that not all guys are jerks, and that it’s okay to take a chance. Taylor and Michael begin an exciting-but-cautious romance, hitting several challenges along the way—-parental disapproval, family secrets, and the most daunting obstacle of all, Elena Brewster, a calculating beauty who will stop at nothing to win Michael’s affections.

Not just another teen romance, JUST YOU is also about forgiveness, facing your fears, and learning to embrace the risks involved in trusting someone with your heart.

Someone Else

Someone Else (Just You #2) by Rebecca Phillips

When her boyfriend Michael leaves for college, sixteen-year-old Taylor Brogan is determined to make their long-distance relationship work. Together, they’ve managed to overcome past issues with communication and trust, so they’re confident that they can tackle this newest challenge too.

In an attempt to ease her loneliness, Taylor distracts herself with school, a hair makeover, and a whole new set of friends. But even with all these diversions, dating long-distance is a lot harder than she ever expected. Her loyalties are tested even further when Dylan enters the picture. He’s the opposite of Michael in every way, and his obvious interest in her—-not to mention his lean, athletic body and adorable dimples—-makes Taylor want to keep her distance. But she can’t deny her growing attraction to him, especially when her relationship with Michael starts falling apart.

When the inevitable break-up occurs, Taylor begins a rebound romance with Dylan that quickly becomes more than she bargained for. His dark moods scare her, and soon she’s in danger of losing herself to this new life she’s created, a life she’s no longer sure she even wants.

Taylor's story continues in this sequel to JUST YOU.

Sarah DiCello (sarahdicello) | 3 comments Hi Everyone,
My debut novel, As I Close My Eyes, launched in June 2012. Here's how my publisher (Taylor Street Publishing) describes it:
When she looks into her own eyes, she sees a ghost.

And when she looks into his eyes, she knows she has seen them before ...

Danielle Grayson is a beautiful, intelligent young woman in present-day Georgia, but when she closes her eyes, she becomes someone else in a different time, one hundred years earlier in fact.

Danielle's other life is as entrancing and romantic as her current one, and the contrast between the lifestyles is intriguing and enlightening, but what starts out as being dreamlike soon becomes real and strangely familiar.

As I Close My Eyes will make you wonder if those you love have been with you forever, through eras of time.As I Close My Eyes

Son Of Adam, takes us on the thrill ride exposing the monster lurking inside each of us.

Cal, a black, rough tempered, hard-nosed automotive engineer driving his way around life’s twisting race-track until the second Gulf War places him on a collision course with a pedophile serial killer in a distant war-torn land. Lives changed forever in an instant of horror.

Seventeen girls missing and seventeen weeping mothers with no hope of rescue confuse the soldier’s motives and missions. A small, foreign village with a fledgling infrastructure barely able to support traffic stops was a pedophiles playground. The shadows of war and the prowling despot have free reign over the frightened village families until the killer gets sloppy, exposing his bloodstained trail. All the gory pieces fall together and the Army platoon moves in for the arrest. Mission accomplished for all, except for the soldier that found him – the one who had to search the killer’s bedroom and catalog all of his bloody souvenirs.

Back home and years later, the demons of that horrible day are still lurking in the darkness, pushing him from odd job to odd job around the country, spiraling an out of control life but weaving it back together with help from some unlikely outsiders – just like him.
The suspenseful story winds its way from the foothills of the Alps to the foothills of the Appalachians as a new journey begins. With twists and turns along the way, finishing in the unwanted answer to an age old question. A life redeemed in the midst of disgraceful mistakes and youth’s tiresome baggage, bringing him back to the tender answer to a divisive social issue: How can anyone be Pro-Life and Pro-Death Penalty?

From first homes to the German Oktoberfest and jumbo jet rides across the Atlantic Ocean to automotive assembly plants in the new south, Son Of Adam, exposes the inner workings of the fall-out from the heinous crimes and bloody investigation, pieced by painful piece.

Be careful what you ask… Son Of Adam.

Bryony Allen | 26 comments Hi all,

Coming this October! My next book which is YA Historical Fiction with a touch of the medieval supernatural.

The Assembly Room by Bryony Allen

The ghosts of The Assembly Room have been waiting for someone to unlock their secrets, and Merryn Stearne has arrived.
For 14 year old Merryn, the future should have been perfect – a new home in the idyllic Suffolk countryside and romance with the gorgeous boy next door, Jamie. If only the past would stop interfering with the present. Dreams of medieval witchcraft trails become terrifyingly real and Merryn realises there is a mystery to be solved. With Jamie's help, she uncovers the truth about her ancestor's role in the Suffolk witch hunts of 1645.
But can they stop the curse that threatens to ruin the Stearne family once again, or are the forces of the past too strong?

Annie Cole (annierachelcole) | 7 comments Hi,

My first book GUARDIAN OF ATLANTIS, came out in July.

Sixteen-year-old Raven Weir has a somewhat normal life until she receives a mysterious necklace…a necklace others are willing to kill her to get because it contains the key codes to Atlantis. Now she finds she’s the only one standing between Atlantis and those who want to use the power hidden there to take over the world.
And Zeus is at the head of that line.
On top of worrying about social acceptance at school, Raven has to get control of her growing powers before she harms someone. And it doesn’t help that the alpha Hellhound at school is attracted to her while members of his pack are trying to kill her. And then there’s the whole biological parent issue. Finding out you’re adopted is huge, but discovering you’re actually the daughter of Medusa and Poseidon will definitely cause problems.
Will Raven find the inner strength she needs to survive?
Will she be able to protect Atlantis?

My second book, NO REST FOR THE SPIRIT AND OTHER GHOSTLY TALES, came out this month.

Open the book and read if you dare…In this collection of twelve chilling tales, ghosts rule. From ghosts haunting a school, to a phantom trucker who gives hitchhikers rides, and windows which refuse to stay closed, to a vengeful spirit who plans to get her husband back, no one is safe.

Both books are available at Amazon and Barnes and Noble in both ebook and paperback.

Elaine Walsh (elainedwalsh) | 16 comments Hello all and thanks for allowing me to share Atomic Summer - THREE friends, TWO secrets, ONE lie, and the summer that changed their lives, with you. It's been getting great reviews on Amazon and hopeful that will translate over to Goodreads.

In addition, my novel is my vehicle to give back as I am donating 100% of my royalties to charity.

In 1953, three teenage girls’ innocent conversations about what each of them would do if the end of the world were imminent, coupled with a friend’s obsession, become the catalyst for a prank that spins wildly beyond control and draws in an entire town. Left behind in the wake of that summer’s events are their unrealized dreams and open wounds. In 1973, a reunion trip to the small town of their youths returns them to the summer of 1953 and the passion and betrayal that changed their lives.

The world is ripe for destruction in 1953. The Korean War drags on and the Rosenbergs are executed as spies. Senator Joseph McCarthy convinces the country communists are infiltrating the government, and the threat of nuclear war festered in the collective consciousness of the nation. While American’s constructed backyard bomb shelters, the government conducted nuclear tests in the desert. Atomic Summer by Elaine D. Walsh

My recently-published YA is In Your Dreams In Your Dreams by Amy Martin . If you click on my name and go to the most recent blog entry on my profile, you'll find a limited-time Smashwords discount code for the book.

Here's a synopsis:

Sixteen-year-old Zara "Zip" McKee lives for three things: basketball, books, and bailing out of tiny Titusville, Illinois, where the junior high and high school are in the same building and everyone's known everyone else since birth. But when Kieran Lanier moves to town and passes out on her desk on his first day at school, Zip's life gets complicated in a way she never dreamed.

Kieran has narcolepsy, and although he sometimes struggles to stay awake, he has no trouble capturing Zip's heart and trusting her with his most guarded secret--he sees bits and pieces of the future in his dreams.

But just when Zip thinks that maybe she can handle having a boyfriend who sees things before they happen, her budding relationship with Kieran gets a jolt when Kieran's parents reveal that his sleeping disorder is not what it seems and may be putting them in harm's way. And when Zip begins to have unsettling dreams, she must decide if she can live with knowing the future in advance when she's afraid of what might happen.

Chloe Miles | 3 comments Hi,
I have just released my debut novel "Faded", the first book in The Faded Trilogy. I would love to hear what people think :)

Faded (The Faded Trilogy, Book 1) by Chloe Miles
Faded

"Savannah wanted to kiss him, but she had never even kissed a human guy before, let alone a ghost. How was she supposed to kiss him if he wasn't really there?"

Savannah has never been in love before, but she's in love with Hunter Emmerton. He's cute, funny, charming...and a ghost. How can you date someone if nobody else can see them?

After seventeen-year-old Savannah Fraser and her three friends are killed in a car accident, they are given a second chance at life by a group of hundred-year-old teenage earthbound spirits who need their help.

Savannah and her friends learn that they are The Chosen Ones, which means they can switch between human and spirit form, heal people and control the weather. And they are also now invincible.

The Chosen Ones are the only ones who can defeat The Forces - a group of evil spirits who are slowly destroying the perfect little town of Fort Everwick with violent storms and not-so-natural disasters - and stop them from harming everyone they care about.

The Forces are set on destroying everything Savannah knows and loves, but they also have another plan - they want a new member to join them. They aren't willing to give up until they get the one they want...and they have Savannah firmly in their sights.

Savannah had never been confident in herself before, but with her new-found powers, she discovers just how strong herself and her friends really are. But what Savannah didn't count on was falling in love with Hunter. She's never loved anyone the way she loves Hunter and she knows he loves her too. But how can they be together forever if he no longer exists and she's the only one who can see him?

Will Savannah have enough belief in herself to defeat The Forces, or will they be able to lure her to the dark side and turn her against her loved ones...and tear her and Hunter apart?

C.J. Graves Hey guys!

Antichrist 16: The Becoming is my book about a teenager who finds out...you guessed it--he's the Antichrist. Hope you check it out!

It’s not like sixteen-year-old Nathan Terras wants to be evil. A bad boy, maybe—but not evil. Yeah, he can see auras but so what? He’d gladly trade that talent for, say, a new Mustang or a little skin time with Scarlett Johansson. That is until a near-death experience reveals he’s to become the Antichrist.

Forget vampires, werewolves, and zombies. They’re the lucky ones.

THE. ANTICHRIST.

And now his enemies are waking. They’re coming for him, and they’re not interested in a friendly game of Halo. But Nathan’s developing some frightening defenses of his own. A violent power grows inside him. He’d be thankful, if only the dark energy wasn’t so addictive.

When his little brother disappears, he’ll do anything to get him back. Embracing his new identity may save his brother’s life, but Nathan could lose his own in the process. The line between good and evil begins to blur, leaving Nathan wondering which side he’s on.

Charity: My book A PLACE BEYOND MAN is a first-contact story that explores who we are as human beings and how we might interact with aliens who are too fun-loving, attractive, and savvy. It and its sequel, to be out soon, are set in an alternate 21st Century solar system where the aliens live too close to ignore. Both books also explore current problems with the environment and what it would take to convert to a steady state. They are fun, realistic explorations, not utopian or dystopian, so I thought they would be a nice change for YA readers, both young and adult. I would love some feedback. Would you like to review APBM with that in mind? I could mail you a copy. It is not in e-format yet. A Place Beyond Man The Archives of Varok by Cary Neeper

B.A. Schulte | 2 comments Hello all, I am new around here too and would like to present my first YA sci/fi fantasy book for anyone who would care to read, review, or add it to their list.

Age of Heroes: The Witch Hunter's Gauntlet is a fun cross between Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, and Buffy, the Vampire Slayer.

Not every hero is lucky enough to be born a mutant, wizard, or demi-god.

Samantha Hathaway was born into a secret world of magic, monsters, and mad scientists, but when her archaeologist parents died while saving the world she was sent to live and grow up in the quiet simplicity of suburbia. But now, at age fourteen, her family's legacy has earned her a spot at the brand new Miller's Grove Academy, a school designed to train a wide range of the best and brightest teens into the leaders of the 21st Century.

Instead of the usual cliques of geeks, nerds, jocks, and cheerleaders she was prepared to deal with in high school, Sam finds herself the least talented student in a school full of video game champions, eccentric inventors, monster hunters, pop stars, and wannabe world emperors.

As if things weren't bad enough she is framed for the theft of a powerful magical artifact that could spark a war between the forces of science and magic. With both sides gearing up for battle it is up to Sam and her new friends to find the real thief, prevent a war, confront the most powerful sorcerer in history, and usher in the next, and possibly last, Heroic Age.

Worst. Freshman Year. Ever.

Heylo Suze!

I just checked out your blog, looks really great BTW! Would you be interested in reviewing my first book? It is titled "Oath of Servitude" and it is available on Amazon and Smashwords so I could certainly set you up with a sample if you would be interested in reviewing it. It follows the story of Cailin, a pixi who has been sentenced to spend a year living with two humans, Teague and his father and what happens when Cailin and Teague start to become closer than anyone had anticipated.

Does this sound like something that would interest you? If so, please shoot me an email to cewilsonya28@gmail.com!

I look forward to talking with you!

Heylo Amanda!

My name is C.E. Wilson and I have recently published a YA paranormal romance book titled Oath of Servitude available on Amazon and Smashwords. I noticed that you like to read/review these types of books on your blog so I think that mine would be a great fit! Oath of Servitude deals with a human named Teague who has been living a privileged life until a recent accident and a pixi named Cailin who is trying to stay true to herself amongst a rigid pixi clan. When Cailin is punished for her behavior she is sent to live with a human family for a year, Teague and his father Owen. Teague and Cailin have troubles, but the novel talks about the consequences of their friendship.

Does this sound like something that you would be interested in? I hope so! :-) Shoot me an email to cewilsonya28@gmail.com if you think you would like to read/review this book.

I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Have a lovely evening,

C.E. Wilson

Chris Breedlove) (chrisstevenson) | 58 comments I'm Chris Stevenson, and although I write in six genres, my latest three books have been in YA. The Girl They Sold to the Moon just took the first place grand prize in a novel writing contest. I've handed that one off to my agent.

Screamcatcher is about an age-old dream catcher that implodes, pulling four teenagers into an alternate world.

The War Gate is a paranormal romance/thriller, involving a young gal who learns to "gate-walk" through time to prove the innocence of her mother who was wrongly convicted of murder.
