Hamilton huh? You live just down the road from me. I'm in Brantford.
Must be nice to have at least some of the expenses covered. I'm indie, thus it is the price I pay. :)

Join teen sorceress Kora Porteg as she discovers it is up to her to save the kingdom of Herezoth after a coup by a noble-born sorcerer. She joins a resistance movement fighting against the usurper and has quite a few adventures along the way. "The Crimson League," though the first in a trilogy of novels about Herezoth, could easily stand alone as its own work. It's available on Kindle or in print form through amazon.
Great summer/beach read! Don't forget to become a friend and fan of author Victoria on Goodreads, and to follow her on Twitter and facebook!

Today, Prince Derek follows Geraint’s beautiful daughter Sacha into a reckless mission to save her brother from Wolfryth. He will need to embrace his heritage and to trust magic if he wants to find his way back to Caer Lon and unlock its secrets before the sorcerer kills them all.

My name is Matthew Iden and I write fantasy, science fiction, crime fiction, and literary fiction.
I'm excited to swap talk about all those genres, plus craft, history, and the future of writing. Please give me a shout through GR or swing by my blog/website at http://matthew-iden.com.
I update the blog about twice a week with (what I hope are) short, informative discussions about all the topics mentioned above, as well as announce sales and Giveaways of my work there.
Speaking of sales, I'm currently (June 24-26) having a cascading sale of six of my fantasy short stories on Amazon. The first short story, Sword of Kings , reached #1 on the Epic Fantasy List and the second, Assassin , is currently at #20, but ends tonight at midnight PST. Seven Into the Bleak goes on sale June 25-26. Get them while they're free!
All details on my site at Three Stories + Six Days = Free Fantasy Swag.
Thanks for having me and I hope to bump into you around GR!

My name is Jenelle Schmidt and I've also recently published my own fantasy book King's Warrior.
In its simplest form, it is a story about a princess: a headstrong, adventurous princess, who is sent on a quest to save her kingdom. But it is also a story about a squire: a boy on the verge of becoming a man, who desperately wishes to prove himself in combat, but instead is given the task of "babysitting" the aforementioned princess on her quest.
It is a story about a man: a man who was once warrior to the king, who has tried to put his past behind him, but when that past finds him and rips away everything he held most dear, he is forced to become, once again, the King's Warrior.
But it is also a story about a country: a land that has isolated itself from the rest of the world and forgotten much of what made it once great, a land that faces invasion, and a king and his people who must rise up and face the challenges before them.
It is a story about dragons: and various other creatures of myth who are outcasts in the land, but who also once made a promise. Will they keep their promise, even if it means protecting those who fear them?
It is a story about courage, and learning that courage is so much more than the absence of fear.
It is a story about love and friendship and loyalty.
It is a story about heroes, who sometimes arise from the most unlikely of places.
It is also a story about a minstrel... but you have to read the whole series to find out more about him...
But most of all, it is an adventure.
If you live in the Raleigh, NC area, you can find it in the library. I'll be having a giveaway here at GR in a few days. And I often do giveaways on my facebook page:

1,000 years before the birth of Amborese is a far greater story. The legend of Tesnayr.
Before the lands of Tesnayr existed, there were five distinct kingdoms. Each proud and constantly at war with one another. But all that changed...
A stranger washes upon the shores of Sym'Dul, beaten and barely alive; the only survivor of a devastating war in a land far across the sea. Nursed back to health, Tesnayr makes a new life for himself and begins to think that his past is behind him.
Then the orcs arrive led by Galbrok. They quickly ravage the land. Faced with a terrible choice, Tesnayr forms his own army to stop them and quickly draws the attention of each of the five kings.
Yet, Tesnayr's past refuses to release him. Can he unite the five kingdoms before Galbrok annihilates them? Can a lone man from across the sea achieve what all believe to be impossible?

Cyndi Goodgame :)

I'm Melissa, and I've published an epic fantasy series, the first of which is Cephrael's Hand: A Pattern of Shadow & Light Book One, and the second in the series will be out this October. Here's a quick blurb:
"Two brothers find themselves on opposite sides of a great battle, neither knowing the other is alive... A traitor works in exile while preparing for the disaster only he knows is coming... A race of beings from beyond the fringe of the universe begin uncreating the world from within...
And all across the land, magic is dying."
Having read fantasy all my life, my emphasis with this series is to be true to the genre with great storytelling, compelling characters and an ever-increasing conflict without using the same quest fantasy and "ultimate evil" elements that have been explored so many times.
My background in philosophy keeps me interested in exploring the motivations behind a person's actions. One of the things I love about writing fantasy is being able to explore an idea or conflict from so many varying viewpoints.
You can read more about me or my series on my site: http://melissamcphail.com.

Awesome! Your series looks very intruiging! Brothers on opposite sides of a battle? Never seen that before nice work.

Seth Anson, a lovelorn forest ranger, never thought that he would shoot the first eligible woman he met after his divorce. Nor did he think that he would fall in love with her after nursing her back to health. But he certainly isn’t prepared to find out that she is the result of a DNA cloning experiment gone horribly wrong and, is in fact, a hybrid wolf/human. To complicate matters, she also has no idea of her true identity.
Seth finds out early on that Melina Salinger is a handful. He mistakenly believes that she suffers from hypertrichosis (werewolf syndrome), and that she has escaped from a care facility. She confesses later that she has been confined in an underground missile silo by her geneticist father, Davis Salinger, and the only thing she knows about everyday life has been gleaned from video movies and television. Now she wants to be a normal girl.
It isn’t easy trying to indoctrinate a woman into society who pants, growls and thinks that Emerald City is a real place somewhere over the rainbow. The ritual shavings and skin maintenance are enough to drive him crazy. Moreover, when she goes into a feverish estrus cycle, sex and passion seem like blunt-force trauma.
Just when Seth thinks he has things under control, Melina becomes deathly ill. Her mysterious father shows up to offer aid, and then shockingly confesses that she carries ancient wolf DNA. After recovering, Melina, shamed and traumatized by this knowledge, becomes suicidal and runs away. Only her father left out the part about her other littermate – a grotesque monster, Romulus, has just broken out of the silo compound. Romulus is bent on finding her for the purpose of mating and will kill anyone who gets in his way.
Seth has to use his skills as a ranger to find Melina in the Wyoming wilderness. He has Romulus out in front of him, the National Guard, the sheriff’s office, a maniac cryptozoologist, and every monster-hunting vigilante in the state hot on his heels. He has to decide if it is guilt that drives him on his quest to find Melina, or that somehow, this wild and beautiful female was destined to be the love of his life.
The Wolfen Strain examines the lurid morality issues that are dealt with in The Island of Doctor Moreau. Yet the predominant theme is that of forbidden love, found in Beauty and the Beast, only with the gender rolls reversed.

Thank you so much, Nic. It's challenging having two protagonists, but incredibly fun to write. It's one way of exploring the motivations of both sides... :)

Forgive me if I've already posted this - I'm finding Goodreads more mysterious than my novel 'Noontide Owls', a fantasy for young and old. The Conquering Army of Shoog the Awesome has marched out of Ambamar after 100 years. But freedom does not bring peace. It is left to 14-year-old Maara and the two noble Trumpeters to try and stop the city from destroying itself and all the marvellous beings that inhabit its world.
Pen and ink drawings throughout.
'I could not put it down… I really cannot wait for my son to read it. It was fantastic.'
Anjali Mittal, children's book author
It is not just a childrens/crossover book but also for adults. As we witnessed the fall of one tyrannical regime after another in the 1990s, I became increasingly conscious that mankind lacks the desire to live in peace. Freedom and peaceful coexistence are two ideals that are often in conflict with one another, leading to the ultimate breakdown of a society, unless there is a will to prevent this.`Noontide Owls' explores this theme in a fantasy world
'Noontide Owls' is available in paperback as well as a Kindle eBook. Check out Amazon.uk, www.ireneblack.co.uk or www.goldenford.co.uk.
Hello and thank you for the invitation to join this group.
My first book is being published later this month (I hope). It has no vampires, walking dead, sex, violence, police, wizards, dragons, murders or zombies in it. So not mainstream.
I live in Southwest France and so will not be going to the big events in the USA.
I love people and I am really happy to have you all as friends.

http://youtu.be/SYBo1egnndE
Synopsis:

Cedar McLeod lives an ordinary but lonely life, raising her six-year-old daughter Eden on her own, while trying to balance the demands of her career and the expectations of her mother. Everything seems normal until the day Eden opens her bedroom door and finds herself half a world away – and then goes missing. Suddenly, Cedar realizes her daughter is anything but normal.
In a desperate search for answers, Cedar tries to track down Eden’s father, who mysteriously disappeared from her life before Eden was born. What she discovers is far beyond anything she could have imagined. As she joins unlikely allies in the hunt for her daughter, Cedar becomes torn between two worlds: the one she thought she knew, and one where ancient myths are real, the stakes are impossibly high, and only the deepest love will survive.

The Light Beyond the Storm Chronicles
Book 1
A beautiful young elven sorceress flees for her life in a dark world where magic is forbidden and elves live as slaves. Running from the house of her evil Keeper she must find a way to survive and to fulfil her destiny in a society where her very existence is illegal. Watching her are the Order of Witch-Hunters; the corrupt organisation that rule by fear and ignorance and a mysterious wealthy nobleman, lord of an idyllic valley who is not all he seems. As the Slavers roll across the lands stealing elves from what remains of their ancestral home the Witch-Hunters turn a blind eye to the tragedy and a story of power, love and a terrible revenge unfolds.
Can the sorceress, her mysterious lord and their companions; a deadly and enigmatic half elven thief and a young innocent forest elf whose sister was taken by Slavers succeed in rescuing the missing elves? Will love, magic and determination be enough to outwit the might of the Order and the deviousness and cruelty of the Slaver Lords?
*18+* age limit- this contains adult themes.

Just when they thought that life had returned to normal after defeating the Dark Lord in the Lake District, Chris and Linda get a letter – followed by a knock on the door. Their friends are back, and they are in trouble – again.
In the mist haunted dwarf mansion, the Banned Underground have played another gig. But this time the feedback has blown apart the Throne of The Mountain King, and The Banned must replace it, on pain or, well, pain. But the junior Dark Lord wants his revenge on The Banned, if his Satnav doesn’t prevent him from following the band.
Grizelda, off-white witch and occasional aunt to the teenagers, is rather busy with some mad monks who want to conquer the world, starting with Wales. Will Dai the Drinking Dragon help? Will the Tuatha stay out of the pub long enough to render assistance? If not, Jailhouse Rock looms for the Banned Underground…

Ironically, given the theme, getting it into print form literally took going through hell and back. And now the acclaimed fantasy series comes together in one epic saga. Follow Costa Calabrese as he begins his journey as demon hunter in The Chosen One; with his companions Talisa and Paralay as they take on the high seas in Seek & Destroy; and as Costa uncovers the truth about his past in Heroes Call. A truly good, old fashioned legend and lore adventure novel that has all the qualities dark fiction readers could want: adventure; mystery; demons; werewolves; vampires and more.

My name is A.M. Day. I am a former freelance journalist and author of the upcoming, debut novel The Throne of Olympus Book One: Blood Bond. It is a modern-day, urban-fantasy/paranormal romance with a big Greek mythology twist...or kink as I like to call it. Chapter one and excerpts can be found in the Goodreads Creative writing section under urban-fantasy tag/top of pg.2.
Summary
In the twenty-first century, mythical presence is preserved in storybooks. It is a time where heroic tales of the gods leap from the pages into the imagination, for most.
One night, in an instant, the life of twenty-two-year-old Lena Wilcox is forever changed after helping a stranger. She finds herself caught in between the feud of two mortal families with a blood bond to the Greek gods—the Andros family and the Anastogus family. Both claim superiority, both vie for the Throne of Olympus, but only one side is accepted…the Unworthy are not.
The God of Gods banished Zeus and the other Olympus gods long ago choosing descendants to rule on the throne in their place. This was meant to right the wrongs carried out against the first demigod Argus and the other hybrid offspring of the gods. The destiny of the throne has yet to be fulfilled.
Lena will have to make the difficult choice to follow the path of her destiny as the new rising goddess, along with a new descendant king on Mt. Olympus leaving her earthly life behind. Together, they will become a modern-day Zeus and Hera to protect Olympus and the throne, and to keep the Unworthy from raising the demigod Argus in their ongoing plight for revenge.
Before any of this can happen, Lena must first sort through her feelings about the reality she knows to be true and the reality of the claims brought forth by people claiming to be descendants of the Greek gods, claiming their right to the Throne of Olympus.

Not at all, but I love the movie and most things Greek myth. It's funny, I had just finished writing book one and half of book two when my brother called and told me about a new book and movie coming out; Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
My heart dropped a few feet...a writer's nightmare, then when he told me what it was about relief set back in, and then I felt like a recluse because we didn't have tv to watch, just dvd's. I literally blocked most of the world out--black trash bags lined our windows.
As for what makes the other family unworthy, Nic, that would be a spoiler, but it's a great question. In fact, the lead character asks that very same question in the book. Stay tuned. And I'm so glad and truly appreciate you taking an interest in my work. Thank you so much! :)

Borrowing heavily from Celtic and other lost land myths, it's set in the late Neolithic, as a single culture in the north Atlantic unites the whole world through magic and forbidden arts.
The society of these Sea People is fundamentally flawed and the arrival of a talented novice uncovers these flaws, leaving the City of the Sea People with options of change or destruction.
The first volume, "Venus and the Sea People" introduces the predicament the Sea People are in; the second, "Hermes and the Sea People" deals with their attempts to adapt to this challenge. The second volume is with my editor right now, and should be available sometime later this year.
Meanwhile, just for today, you can download my SF short, "Essence", from Amazon for free.

The Vangeretta Curse ~Elementris~ Book 1

Nice to meet you, Christina! :)

Nice to meet you, A.M. :) Thank you for the request.

Sounds like a great book, Welcome!: D
Do you have a blog btw? :))

My name is Daniel McHugh and I imagined the characters, settings and events within THE SERAPHINIUM.
BOOK I of THE SERAPHINIUM: THE MERCHANT AND THE MENACE has been out for a year. It continues to make sales and garner good reviews. I will be releasing a hard copy on Amazon this week. (very excited!)
THE SERAPHINIUM is in the form of classic epic fantasy. (If it ain't broke don't fix it!)
If you like epic fantasy with twists and turns AND/OR like the stratagems and drama of warfare, The Seraphinium will draw you in.
The Seraphinium: The Merchant and the Menace
The Seraphim. Beings of power, created to guide the world in times of trouble. They live their lives of near immortality in servitude to a lesser creature, man.
One rebelled. Amird, the Hand of the Creator, bridled at the sovereignty of his lord. In defiance he murdered a brother and was cast into the Mists of Chaos.
Millennia passed as the Deceiver plotted his return. Backed by the might of a seemingly unstoppable army of Ulrog Stone Men and their fire-eyed Malveel Lords, Amird plans to wrest control of the world from the Creator and rain violence on the humans he once served.
All that stands between Amird and his triumphant return are the remnants of battered human armies and the hope that Seraphim, loyal to the Creator, still roam this world.
Kael knows little of this struggle. His quiet village lies deep in the Southlands, unchanged and unchallenged by the wars raging in the frozen North. In fact, the boy longs for a bit of adventure and freedom from the boring routine at his father’s inn.
Freedom comes at a cost. Kael’s first journey outside his secluded village results in a tragedy so deep it destroys the boy’s sheltered world and immerses him in the struggle.
Revelations surface. Kael uncovers a past linking him to legends. He grapples with a present that spins from his control. Lastly, he confronts a future that demands he tap long dormant power and stake a claim in the defense of the human races.
Kael’s first step toward that future lies through the darkness of the Nagur Wood, and the boy is unaware of the darkness that prowls the Nagur!
