Please help me choose which one to use?

#1 definitely. #2 seems harder to pronounce, and #3 seems too much like Spanish. If she's a strong woman, the 'B' gives her strength while the 'C' names seem softer.

Lynette White (lynettewhite) | 18 comments Allow me to introduce my debut novel. The Enemy Within

The twin cities of Salaria and Tarson are on the brink of collapse after months of unprovoked raids. Salaria Second Commander Shadoe Van Ives has made it it his personal quest to find out why. What he uncovers is a conspiracy that has poisoned the very people he trusts with his life.

Before Shadoe can bring those behind the conspiracy to justice, and save the cities, he must find someone he can trust. Above all, he must survive the enemies coming at him from every side.

The Enemy Within is a fast paced, dark fantasy for the reader who does not want a clear cut good vs evil story. It is the first book in the Destiny Series and you can get a sneak peak right here on Goodreads. It is available in soft back and ebook through Amazon. It is also available on Smashwords.

Christopher Patterson | 13 comments I live in Tucson, Arizona with my wife Kellie. We currently have two kids. Savannah is five and in Kindergarten and Shaymus is one. My wife is a nurse at Tucson Medical Center. I was a high school English teacher for seven years before I transitioned over to Government, Economics, and History. I am the head wrestling coach at Sahuaro High School in Tucson AZ and have been for ten years. I am also a coach on the Sahuaro football staff. I fostered a love of the arts at an early age when I started playing the guitar at the age of seven. My mother encouraged me greatly in my musical endeavors, even getting me up at 5am to practice since I was also busy with church and sports. In fact, I spent my first year at the University of Arizona as a classical guitar performance major.

I have loved action and adventure as well as science fiction and fantasy for as long as I can remember. I grew up watching the original Star Wars movies and Star Trek series. I read The Hobbit at a very early age, loved stories about mythology, and have always had a fascination with the European Middle Ages. As soon as I could, I played Dungeons and Dragons and started reading any Forgotten Realms or Dragon Lance book I could get my hands on. I also read Ursula K Le Guinn's Wizard of Earthsea series, C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia, and, of course, J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings.

I started writing my own fantasy adventures on my grandma's typewriter. Each one she would title, "The Next Great American Novel" and I find myself extremely lucky and blessed that my family encouraged my creativity. It was in college, studying Literature and Creative Writing at the University of Arizona, that I started taking writing seriously and exploring a career as an author. After my first year in music, I found that that was not the path I wanted, but knew I wanted something involving the arts, and so I transitioned to Creative Writing. I actually started writing what would eventually become the Shadow's Fire Trilogy in college.

I am also active at Desert Hope, the church that my family attends. I am very actively involved in the high school ministries and the music ministries. Church and faith are a major part of my family's life and I have tried to implement that influence in my writing.

I am also sincere about fitness and health and I have been a competitive power lifter since high school. I workout as much as I can and try to pass that love on to my students and athletes.

A Chance Beginning: Book One of the Shadow's Fire Trilogy is my first novel.

Barb (barb_caffrey) | 4 comments My name is Barb Caffrey, and my new YA urban fantasy/romance novel is called AN ELFY ON THE LOOSE. An Elfy on the Loose by Barb Caffrey An Elfy on the Loose

Here's a blurb to whet your appetite:

One Elfy for an entire planet?

He’s supposed to be the Watcher for his people, the representative on Earth from his dimension, but the small being known to his enemies as “Jonny-Wonny” wakes up to big trouble — trapped in a bizarre house in Knightsville, California with humans straight out of reality TV. Jon knows that something has gone dreadfully wrong — he’s starving, lonely and dressed in funny clothes.

Enter the couple’s ten-year-old diminutive daughter, who is “Not Daisy!” but is brilliant, sweet…and using high level magic with ease. She’s also desperately in need of a friend.

Insisting her name is really Sarah, and christening him Bruno, his new friend asks him how they’re going to get out of there.

The only thing that comes to mind is for Bruno to ask his teacher, Roberto the Wise, for help. But Roberto’s attempt at help only enmeshes all three of them further in a web of deceit and treachery. Bruno finds out that, unfortunately, most of what he thought he knew about himself was very wrong…and much of what Sarah knows about herself is also wrong, including her age.

Worst of all, a Dark Elf is on the scene and is intent on corrupting the local Humans, including Sarah’s parents.

New names, new locations, a new mission–Bruno is going to get to the bottom of all the craziness, and Sarah will be there for him every step of the way.

Watch out, universe–an Elfy is on the loose!

Synopsis:

Between the shadows of the human world, a war as old as time is being fought. Ageless pantheons scheme to obtain or keep control, provoked by the weight of human belief which has altered the realm of the divine.

An ancient prophecy speaks of a human woman who will alter the course of this divine war, a descendant of a Great House mired in misfortune and blood, whose history was shaped by the cruelty of the gods.

On a day as unremarkable as any other, Elena Vicens, a young woman living a seemingly ordinary life, receives a letter about a deposit box belonging to her mother, nineteen years after her mother’s death. When this letter sends her on a journey halfway across the world from New Orleans to Japan, Elena unknowingly comes into possession of a cursed inheritance. She is suddenly thrust into a world of myths and legends, where the intangible and the strange are the fabric of everyday life, and deathless gods vie for victory at any cost.

As allies converge to help Elena fulfill the prophecy, one of whom is struggling with his own inheritance, Elena must choose for herself the measure of her own destiny.

Louise O'Connell (httpwwwgoodreadscomlouiselake) | 23 comments Mina Harker: The Curse of the Vampire by Louise Lake

Seven years after the eventful night that Mina was almost turned into a vampire, she is now happily married to Jonathan Harker and has a lovely son called Quincy until her past comes back to haunt her.
Mina’s life is thrown into turmoil as a gypsy sorceress with a hidden agenda casts a spell from the book of the dead to bring Dracula back from his grave.
Mina’s worst nightmares are unleashed as her husband and child are brutally slaughtered and she is reborn with a bloodthirsty appetite and dark vengeance.
Seeking revenge and to be reunited with her loved ones, Mina battles against all odds and survives into the twenty first century, until a handsome stranger arrives to document Mina’s life who is not quite what he seems…
Mina Harker: The Curse of the Vampire is a compelling sequel to Dracula, which also acts as a standalone story. Bringing back the old characters and adding new ones to create an emotional, action packed modernised fantasy from Mina’s perspective with an added twist at the end.

Chaya never understood the fear she saw in her mother’s eyes until the day she overheard a boy speaking about an ancient prophecy, a boy only she could see and hear.

Learning about her true heritage, leads Chaya into a secret world, a world called Fawna, a place full of mages, elves, humans, shape shifters, goblins, pixies and trolls. A world where a person’s worth is valued by how much power they have. An ancient prophecy reveals that a half-elf, half-human will be born with the power to save the world or destroy it, a child who will have the power to end the Dark Lord’s reign.

When Chaya discovers she is the prophesied half-elf, half-human, she suddenly begins to understand how little free will she has in a world that desires only power. Chaya discovers that being as powerful as she is, comes with a price, for all desire it and some will kill for it.

Cas Blomberg (casblomberg) Hey everyone! I thought I had posted here, but I guess I haven't yet. My name is Cas and like most of you, I spend my days listening to the characters inside of my head.

In May, 2014, I published my first book Ashborne.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K...

In a town where magic is purged, the cursed users executed for the sake of their souls, one cleric asks questions that cost her not only her freedom, but her life. On the run, separated from her husband, Joelle must expose the lies of her former life and discover the truth about faith–before it’s too late and she’s unable to save the life of the one of the two men she cares about the most.

While Joelle confronts the deceptions of her past, another woman in another city is waging her own war against injustice. After years of preparation, Riatha, one of the last elven Archmages, finally begins a plan to restore the former glory of the elves.

At a time when stereotypes abound and strong female characters are difficult to find, Joelle and Riatha jump off the pages. They demand you notice them, you hear their voice, and you walk in their shoes.

“Net: An ambitious undertaking by a début author, but one that she manages to pull off.” — Amazon Review

“Couldn’t put it down! Great characters, full of life, of dreams, doubt, longing, anguish, fear and hope. Excellent dialogue and action propelled me along on the characters’ journeys. Captivating story lines woven together by a master storyteller. Can’t wait for the next book!” — Amazon Review

When you read Ashborne, you'll meet a priest named Jakob Borchain. He may seem like an ordinary man to you, not worthy of great deeds. Surprisingly, he has his own story to tell, so I've collected his journal entries and have begun posting them on my website on a page called Jakob's Journal.

http://casblomberg.com/jakobs-journal/

Over the course of the next few weeks and months, you can read about an extraordinary series of events. You may cry. You may cheer. In the end, I ask only that you remember Jakob. Remember his tale and the lives of those he saved.

For it is Jakob who ultimately changes the course of history for Sarond.

I'm the self-published author of Guardian of the Gauntlet, which is a book originally written for middle school students, but adults have been the main ones buying it. It is about a special gauntlet, which, through belief in a higher power, can, among other things turn people invisible. When my main character, Princess Camari, gets turned invisible by Prince Denir and he must go off to war. She is left with the predicament of being invisible. How she deals with her situation and outwits two wicked characters is up to the reader to guess.

My website is www.LenitaSheridan.com. You can find the ebook on sites, such as Amazon, on which it is sold to link to there. Also, Amazon has it in paperback.

I'm the author of the Gryphon Clerks series, set in a steampunkish fantasy world with plenty of magic: energy magic for the devices, mindmagic to make oaths and geasa binding, and lifemagic which has produced various wonderful creatures.

The series consists of four books so far:

Beastheads by Mike Reeves-McMillan Beastheads, in which a failed shaman's apprentice must convince a bad-tempered shaman of her people's good intentions before a threatened invasion;

Realmgolds by Mike Reeves-McMillan Realmgolds, in which a reluctant young ruler has to step up and become the leader his people need in a time of rebellion;

Hope and the Clever Man (The Gryphon Clerks) by Mike Reeves-McMillan Hope and the Clever Man, in which a young mage almost destroys her career in a moment of anger and is given her chance at redemption, working with an eccentric, brilliant inventor;

Hope and the Patient Man (The Gryphon Clerks) by Mike Reeves-McMillan Hope and the Patient Man, in which the same young woman struggles to overcome a curse she accidentally placed on herself, with the help of a devoted friend. (Strong romance elements in that one.)

Readers can start with any of the four books, which overlap in time and share some characters and incidents in common, but each tell a self-contained story. You won't hit the end of Chapter One and wonder "Who are these people and why are they all fighting?"

I'm always happy to offer review copies in exchange for an honest review.

The Godslayer does one thing and he does it well. When some damn fool stands up and declares himself a god, Slayer shoves a few feet of sharpened steel through him to see if the godling can miracle himself back to health.

Not one has risen to the challenge.

Godslayer, is the latest and –-by his own lights-- greatest in a line of heroes that kill anyone foolish enough to proclaim themselves a god. Catrina, is the Lady Ambassador Godslayer must take along on his next mission as both guide and . . . well, baby-sitter! Godslayer is not pleased but he figures to lose the wench somewhere along the way. The mission is simple: cross the ocean, find the god, discover how he’s growing blockbuster crops in the middle of a drought before killing him, and return said secret to their employers. What could possibly go wrong?

Everything!

Jacob Terrell (jacobterrell) | 3 comments Hi! I'm Jacob. I write urban, contemporary, and high fantasy for teens and YA. The Shade of Andrea Fox is my debut novel, and the 1st installment in a series called The Song of The End, which will chronicle the journey of Jill Fox (along with her friends and allies) as she struggles to survive the attentions of an ancient, broken land's warring inhabitants, and come to terms with the dark destiny that's been forced on her.
It's a world-jumping collision of urban and epic fantasy, with an emphasis on action and adventure.
Hope you enjoy the ride!

S. (scopperstone) | 7 comments Hello,

I've been writing for many years (historical fiction, horror (and humorous horror) and fantasy) and figured I wasn't getting any younger, so I've decided to take the plunge into the ebook world and finally release a book.

This one is about a heart-eating shapeshifter (looks like Anubis) who is intent on finding those behind the assassination attempts of the royal family. It has tinges of ancient Egypt in a turbulent modern-like world on a planet similar to Earth. It can be found on Scribd, Amazon, iBooks, and SmashWords. "The High King's Embalmer" can be found here:

Tom Hoffman Hi -- I'm Tom Hoffman, author of The Eleventh Ring, the first book in the Bartholomew the Adventurer series. I've been fan of fantasy and a creative my whole life, working with ad agencies and freelancing for 35 years, and also have a degree in psychology from Georgetown University. And I love Goodreads. Such an awesome site!

The one thing I've heard over and over from readers is "this is not your normal fantasy adventure book". This is not swords and dragons. There is an underlying theme of non-denominational spirituality and morality in this book, and a secondary theme of the union of science and mysticism. There's also a lot humor. There is almost no violence in the book, but several evil characters. Please read my bio before you start reading this book, and also the reviews.

I'd be happy to send anyone who is interested in reviewing The Eleventh Ring a free .mobi Kindle file. Just give me a good email address and I will send you the file.

The Eleventh Ring (Bartholomew the Adventurer #1) by Tom Hoffman

Here's the blurb:

VOTED FIRST PLACE ON LISTOPIA “BEST BOOKS WITH A GREEN RABBIT ON THE COVER”!!
"FANTASTIC! GENIUS! MUST READ!!" – my daughter Molly

Sent to the Cavern of Silence by his servant Parfello, Bartholomew Rabbit begins a quest to find the mysterious Great Gem. He is aided along the way by the Tree of Eyes, the nefarious Skeezle Brothers, and his new best friend Oliver T. Rabbit, a renowned scientist working for the Excelsior Electro-Vacuumator Corporation. As Bartholomew’s self-awareness and magical shaping skills grow, his quest transforms to a search for his dearest childhood friend, Clara Rabbit. To save Clara from certain death, he must defeat the evil and powerful Zoran the Emerald Shaper, wearer of the dreaded Tenth Ring.

From The Eleventh Ring:
“Blindly reaching out for his bottle of Madame Beffy’s Headache Tonic, he knocked over a vase filled with glass marbles. They fell to the floor with a great clatter. As he watched them bouncing and skittering across the stone tiles, he had an unexpected thought. The wild, chaotic path of the marbles was not really chaotic at all. Each marble was precisely following the known laws of physical motion. He was not witnessing chaos, but order and perfection. Each marble was exactly where it should be at every moment in time.”

Thanks so much for reading,

Tom

Alysia Seymour (alysiaseymour) | 1 comments Hello,

My debut novel is The Raven Dreams. It is free on Kindle if you subscribe to Kindle Unlimited.

Eva Dawn - an observantly quiet Vitalist - lives alone with her brother Isaak since they lost their parents at a young age. When the Sages reveal a shocking secret connecting their world to another, Eva, Isaak and the rest of the Vitalists are sent into a whirlwind of chaos and deception.

Paralleled by nightmares that have begun haunting her sleep, and dreams of a raven that pull her away from the only home she knows, Eva is beyond terrified. The truth will test the humanity of each and every living being, clawing beneath the surface to expose the good from the bad and threaten to push Eva over the edge of sanity.

Simon O’Neal is among the few humans who call themselves Rebels, fighting against the Empowerment that has taken control of Dysmortia, turning humans into Betrayers, trained to kill - even those once considered friends.

Despite his heroic rebellion, Simon has secrets from his past that he would rather keep tucked away. But when his path crosses with that of a mysterious girl with bright turquoise eyes, his secrets are no longer easy to hide and they find themselves thrown into the hands of fate as they embark on a terrifyingly impossible journey that will bring many forgotten secrets to light.
