Checking in with my Gardeners!

I'm not ready for the gardening catalogs to start arriving yet!

I'm into major quilting mode at the moment working on Christmas gifts. Finished a flannel quilt for my grandaughter today and have Christmas table covers left to finish for my daughters. Thankfully I only work a couple more days before Christmas so should have time to get all projects done. Kind of enjoy the last minute push to finish things I've been working on for awhile.
Hope everyone's sinus issues resolve long before the holiday so you can enjoy the season.

This is my first artificial tree in 15 years (Hubby's idea) & all the kitties want to do when they're not sleeping under it is to chew on the lower branches. They're obsessed with garland as well. Not destructive like when they were young, just can't resist chewing fake pine needles off of anything w/them, lol!
Other than that, they don't bother anything now that they're older. Most they did to the trees growing up was bat ornaments off the lower branches and play floor hockey w/the Nativity set!!! (Little heathens, LOL!)
Hope you're able to have a fairly destruction free season!

I just got home from having lunch with a friend and was thrilled to be back in the house. It was -8 here this AM with a wind chill of -17. I am definately not ready for the deep freeze before Christmas. It usually waits until January to hit us with this kind of weather. We did luck out in the snow department and only got about 4". Areas south of here had up to a foot! After such a boring and realatively warm (in the 20s to 40s) November this has been quite the shock.

Here is southcentral Kansas, we missed the snow completely, but were down to 8-12 at night, with a high of 16 during the day. Add wind to the mix, and it got pretty miserable. Thankfully the wind has died down and the sun is out!

There's hope for snow this Sat into Sunday & we've finally got the temps for it!

How did NaNo go?

Cheryl, we may get an "ice event" for Christmas Day into Saturday but I'm hoping not!

I've been getting a chuckle out of my crab apple tree in the front yard. We have about 6" of snow on the ground right now from a storm last week. My tree still has lots of apples on it and the area around it is totally trampled from squirrel and bunny tracks. Evidentally they have been having an early Christmas feast.
I've gotten some reading done recently which is good but I feel like I'm faltering with my writing. (My NaNo'ing doesn't count - I'm writing completely blind for that now). But I have a feeling this is either a normal dry spell or as a result of our family stress. (Or I'm losing more of what's left of my mind again, lol!)
How are y'all doing? I hope things are well for my Gardeners.
Love,
~Jo
