Amelia (narknon) Warbreaker is great! Brandon seems to just get better and better. I read this right after it came out in June I believe. I hope he comes out with a sequel sometime.

Collin Done and Done.

Jeanne (jeannekc) I just finished it last night, c'mon January! Can't wait to discuss it!

Garrett (loki08234) | 23 comments Just finished up can't wait for Brandon to join in on the discussions.

Cecile | 61 comments I can't believe I already finished it. Yesterday I kind of rushed through the last part, I just couldn't stop, even to eat (diner at 11pm, I was starting to get hungry!).

Lisa | 14 comments I just finished. Loved it!

~Sara~ I finished this earlier this month and I loved it. I've never read anything by Sanderson before, but I'm definitely going to have to check some other stuff out now. I just have to decide where to start.

Cecile | 61 comments Sara wrote: "... I just have to decide where to start."

I started with Elantris, then the Mistborn trilogy, which is more intense than the former. So I would recommend this order.
So far I love all his work.

message 24: by Shan (new) - rated it 4 stars

Shan I got the book and I read it the moment it came out! =)

Erika (marajade) I read it when it was published in print format (July? I think?) and I enjoyed it! Elantris is still my favorite, though. :)

Thanks for the advice Cecile. I'll do that.

A S Moser (asmoser) Read it in October. Great book.

message 28: by Next (new) - rated it 5 stars

Next After Read it when it just came out. Great book, love all of BS's work.

Stefan (sraets) I read this one when it just came out, and thought it was the weakest of his books by far. My favorite is still Elantris, followed by the first Mistborn book.

message 30: by Josh (new) - rated it 4 stars

Josh (vadalor) I finished a couple of weeks ago. It was a good book, but I didn't love it like I did Mistborn.

Caity (adivineeternity) WOW. I just finished a few minutes ago and I must say, I am not sure I will ever leave the Brandon Sanderson fandom...

A S Moser (asmoser) @Stefan: I agree, that this book seemed weaker somehow than his others, though I disagree about preferring Elantris to Mistborn. Elantris ended magnificently, but the beginning and middle part of the book lacked the tension of the Mistborn books. It was very 'light' in scope - which Sanderson talks about in the annotations on his website. Mistborn is far darker, far more gritty, and far more tense, while still attaining to Sanderson's themes of religion and ethics. I still place Elantris above Warbreaker on my Sanderson list, and Warbreaker is a fine, fine novel, so I'm not disparaging the book.

I am really excited to read The Way of Kings next year.

logankstewart I finished the book over the Christmas break and found it captivating and enthralling. While it's definitely not as good as Mistborn, I did like it better than Elantris, for the most part. Chiefly for the worldbuilding and the history of the characters.

Chris Haught (haughtc) | 916 comments Finished it last night. Wow!

Here's my review:

Franky I read Warbreaker as soon as it was available and i enjoyed it, but not as much as i liked the Mistborn series or Elantris. His magic systems are new and fascinating in all of his novels.

I hope Brandon Sanderson decides to write a sequel to Elantris! It would be great to learn more about the magic in that novel.

Laura (imperfectreader) Finished! Wow - great book.
I liked the Mistborn trilogy too.
I haven't read Elantris yet (just how it's worked out).

David (DLBoyd) I read Warbreaker and was thoroughly pleased with it. The only thorn in it was the Storyteller scene with Siri and Lightsong, I found that to be 'painful' and was glad it wasn't more than a few pages.

I have also read Elantris and the Mistborn trilogy. I read the Gathering of Storms between the 2nd and 3rd mistborn books and I am looking forward to both the next Wheel of Time book and the next Brandon Sanderson book.

Lianne (eclecticreading) I read this book a few months ago and absolutely enjoyed it! I thought the magic system he used in this novel was unique and the characters were intriguing; the story had me wondering how everything was going to turn out and I was pleasantly surprised.

I only read Elantris prior to Warbreaker (which I also enjoyed---dunno which one I like more!) and I hope to get around to his Mistborn trilogy at some point =) His new series, The Way of Kings, sounds interesting and promising =)
