I loved this fantasy novel and thought that Kissen was a great character! I am planning on reading the sequel this month!
I wasn't very into this one when I first read it a couple years ago, but I'll try to be open-minded with my reread it.

I actually started the book a year or 2 ago on audio after I heard it hyped a lot on Booktube. But even if I consider myself an audiobook veteran (out of necessity), I just didn't click with the narrator and put it on hold until I had a good reason to prioritise it on my all too long and slow moving eye-reading TBR. I started from page 1 again and fortunately, it was confirmed that it just wasn't the right format. I'm 20% in and I'm loving the novel so far.BTW, I've been a member of this group for 7 years and it's the first time something I nominated actually won the poll. So I'm really glad I'm enjoying the book.

I mentioned the audio in my review because I barely made it a “page” of the prologue before I noped out of the audio in favor of the ebook version.
I'm reading the ebook and about 20% in. Enjoying it quite a lot so far. A world full of gods is somehow appealing and I'm looking forward to finding out how they are dealt with. Also, the MC who is female and badass even though she has a prosthetic leg is sooo cool.
I started reading last night, and I'm enjoying it so far. Feels like it will be a pretty quick read. Thanks for nominating this one, Banshee! It's been on my TBR list for quite a while, and I needed the motivation to actually give it a try.

Badass FMC with a prosthetic leg...ok, now that does sound cool! It's on my TBR for this month now for sure!

I did the same (via a preview), and maybe for the same reason. Too many unfamiliar-sounding names, too early on. I fell right into the text version, though, and am enjoying the prose and how the deities are depicted.
("span" as the simple past tense of "spin" doesn't sit well, but I'll live.)
First three chapters are interesting. The writing's okay too, easy to follow and not too flowery or stilted.

She reminded me of both Glokta from First Law trilogy and Geralt of Rivia.
I’m really intrigued by the idea of a world where gods are tangible, political forces rather than distant metaphors. There’s something compelling about divinity being vulnerable or hunted.Curious to see whether this story leans more into theology, politics, or pure survival.
