How do I conplete task 30.1 if I was not in the Fall Reading Challenge? (We are supposed to read a book whose Dewey Decimal number matches the number of pages of one of our favorite books from the Fall Reading Challenge)? Should I just use one of my favorite books I read before the challenge?

Each task has it's own help topic, try looking here for PJread's responses about her task. I believe she has said if you didn't participate in the Fall Challenge, you should use one of the highest rated books on your "read" list. See message 29 in the topic linked above:

for Task 20.1, I would like to revisit the movie/book challenge from the fall challenge (book & film adaptation from the last 10 years). I would like to read The Private Lives of Pippa Lee and watch the movie (in theatres now). This challenge was not listed in the task suggestions list posted. I would like to know if we can only do the tasks listed in that thread or we can do ANY past challenge as long as it is over 15 points. I asked at the other thread, but have yet to recieve an answer.

That's fine by me - I only listed the tasks that required one book and no extra activities to keep it even but you can do any task that was worth 15+ points.

This isn't a question about a specific task, but I'm not sure where else to ask it.

Is there a way to find out whether an author is a Goodreads author other than by clicking "explore" and then clicking on "authors" and then scrolling through all of the hundreds of pages of authors? I feel like there's probably an easier way and I'm just missing it.

If you are trying to find out if a specific author is a good reads author, it says "goodreads author profile" in the upper right-hand corner of their profile box. If you want to read a book by a goodreads author, use the "main" view for your bookshelves & look on your to-reads shelf for Chimera, The Selfish Gene, Reading Lolita in Tehran: A Memoir in Books. Goodreads authors will have a * after their name.

Any task from a former challenge that was worth 15+ points counts - it doesn't have to be one that you had previously done (otherwise new participants wouldn't be able to do the task).

Thanks, Cynthia. I'll be reading the second one. I've seen the movie, haven't read the book, so I'll lower my expectations. :-) The difference probably has a lot to do with the comedic acting. I still laugh when I think of Firth and Grant fighting in the fountain.

Hi Cynthia,

If I missed seeing this question answered elsewhere, my apologies. I have a question about the title for the group read selection, the Stupidest Angel, the part about the title that has Version 2.0. Do we need to specifically read the book which has "Version 2.0" in the title? I found a copy at the library here in Texas and started reading it (but had to return it before I could finish) and was going to pick it up back in Ohio, but the copy available from that library doesn't have the Version 2.0 in it either.

No it's not to late to join in - you can join in at anytime during the challenge and any book you have read during the course of the challenge (in this case December/January/February) counts it doesn't matter when you joined.

I have a question on task 5.9 Isn't It Romantic? It says I can read a book with Jewelry on the title. If I have a title with the word Ring in it is that okay since a ring is a piece of jewelry. Also on task 30.10, is gold considered a happy color? I was thinking of reading "The Golden Compass"

I try to update the readerboard at least once a day sometimes several times a day depending on if I'm working or if I have other things to do - but if you look at the top of the board it says what post I've updated through.
