If you can't find a book with red, white, and blue, the task also said you could find a book with stars or stripes in the title. Might make it a little easier.

For the fictional land part of the Alice and Lewis task, would The Handmaid's Tale work? It says it takes place in the republic of Gilead.

For task 15.6 Gift giving, my favorite gift is a cross-stitch from my grandmother of Snow White and the 7 dwarfs. May I please read a book based on Snow White for this task?

Does the 5.2 red, white and blue task have to have all three colors in the cover? I wanted to use Outlander which is 100% blue. For the task 10.2 Louis Louis I wanted to read The Blade Itself which has a character who was tortured as has lost most of the use of one leg, had most of his teeth removed, his back was beaten so he walks with a hump and he has lost the use of his facilities. Would this count as disabled enough for the terms of this task?
Felina, if I finish this stinking Fall Challenge, you'd be able to use Outlander for my task... *muahahaha*

15.9.....evidently I added a bunch of books on the same day and there are several still on my TBR list...can I choose from any of them? Or is there some way to figure out which one I put on there first?
Oh gosh... I have 7 books left, except I still have that 500-page nonfiction book I haven't even started... (Well, I got about 2 pages in...) So that's a bit of a mountain to climb... But.... yeah, we'll see. I think my task would be fun......

I've been switching to easier books lately... I wonder if I could read a random romance novel that takes place in the early 1800s, where the woman is just a wife at home, for the Current Occupation part of task 30.1... Because that's what I'm doing right now... I'll go over to that thread and ask...
Cozy Mystery-There was a post about Janet Evanovich not being ok, because of the "adult situations" what about sookie stackhouse novels? Those were listed on the website as well...Thanks!

For the first part of 15.3, would In the Woods or The Likeness A Novel work? I'm not sure if they're exactly a series, but I think it's the same female lead character in the same town for both.

For 15.4, one of my favorite games is a fictional computer game semi-based on Roman and Greccian history. Since the game's title won't exist for any books (it is a made-up word named after the world), could I read a fiction novel that's based in ancient Rome or Greece?

The Tao of Pooh - works if Winnie The Pooh is your favorite Disney movie, Yes to Clapton, you should post the resolution question in the post for that task but I think it would be ok

10.7 My favorite TV shows are Dateline and 46 Hours Mystery. Can I use a true crime story or do I have to use a 48 Hours Mystery book that I cannot seem to locate the names of any?? Maybe you can direct me to a link that gives me the names of those books?

5.3 - The monarch needs to be a major character in the story so no.
5.10 PAPAZ is ok because the word in between the two matching words is short.
10.7 True Crime is fine because it related to those shows
15.1 - I haven't seen the movie and it is comedy but I don't know that it's satire and its definitely not black comedy so no on that.
15.9 It can be any list you have in your head/on paper or books from an actual shelf at home.
For 30.1 you should post this the task post so she can answer on that.

Task 30.1 has the option to use a top rated book from your GR Read shelf. If you have not entered any books on GR, then use one of the books you love.
So what exactly is a black comedy or a satirical novel? We don't have a website link to look up potential fit-ins

From the record in World Cat I'm guessing that it does not include Through the Looking Glass, but it would be worth listening to.

The audiobook version I got from the library (Jim Dale, too) had Through the Looking Glass... so it's not an impossibility!
A little clarification please. In my dictionary says that satirical means sarcastic, to mock or ridicule. "The Golden Child" is based on the antics of a character poking fun and ridiculing at a people's beliefs and superstitions regarding 'the Golden Child's' powers. So why does this not work for satirical. And I still can't figure out what you mean by "Black Comedy".
Black comedies make light of taboo situations (race, religion, physical or mental disabilities, etc.). If you've ever seen any movie by Mel Brooks, they all qualify as he makes fun of just about every one.
15.2 States that you have to read a novel that takes place in a fictional land. What is your definition of land? It doesn't necessarily mean a country/continent/universe/planet. My dictionary states that it can be any stretch of ground or soil, the solid substance composing the material part of the earth, ground or soil considered with reference to its use. Can you clarify please?
10.3 I don't really understand what a protagonist is suppoed to be. My dictionary says that it is a leader in any enterprise or contest. If that's true can I read Ron Hall's Book "What Difference Do It Make" or "Same Kind of Different As Me"?
10.8 May I use Jerome Corsi's book "The Late Great U.S.A. The Coming Merger of Meixco and Canada" for a nonfiction book about Canda or is this too much of a stretch??
Back to "The Other Boleyn Girl" is that one good for the 5.3 part B??

For the purposes of this task land refers to exactly those things a country/continent/planet/universe that doesn't really exist like Narnia or Oz or Wonderland

June was apparently a bad month to have a birthday in this year. Most of the books look terrible, and I've already read the 1-2 I might be interested in.
