Spelling author's name in different language

I was wondering what is the best practice for entering author for translated edition of the book. If I understood correctly from the manual, then the author name should be entered in the language the book was translated, but it that case, I can't find a way how to combine the translated edition with other editions because the spelling of the authors name for example in Latvian is different than the spelling of author name in English. Neither it seems correct to add two authors for the translated edition, for example one in English and one in the language the book is translated, Neither it seems correct to leave the author for the translated edition only in English.

Have I missed something and there is a way how to combine works of the same author but only with different spelling?
