Adding a quote

I tried adding the following quote but it didn't "go through"; I keep getting an error message that doesn't actually explain what the problem is. I also ran into the same problem with adding a quote for The Maps of Gettysburg by Bradly M. Gottfried. Can anyone think of what is causing this problem?

"The doctor finished his work, and the staff lifted him up, helped him to a wagon, an ambulance that had been brought up. he was helped aboard, sat on a thin mattress, and the driver saw his face, recognized him, snatched his hat from his head and held it against his chest as he began to cry, " Oh, Lord, what has happened to General Lee?"

There was an embarrassed pause, and Lee looked at the man, surprised at the outburst. "Soldier," he said calmly, "I have been inconvenienced, that's all. It is a small price for the inconvenience we have given General Pope.""

I just tried adding this quote again and once again it failed. What am I doing wrong here? Or it just the system?

I tried it once again today, at the same library as my attempt on the 15th, and I got the same error message as the previous two attempts. Why does this keep happening?
