10.8 - Ulysses, again!
In honor of Bloomsday (June 16), read a book set at least 50% in Ireland (either Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland) or written by an author who was born or currently lives in Ireland.

yes - the description mentions Ireland and the author's website site says it's set in "early medieval Ireland."

Donna | 1271 comments I just read a book a couple of days ago that is perfect for this challenge. Too bad mine doesn't count, but I really enjoyed the writing of it. So maybe someone else can enjoy it and have it count towards this challenge.

If it's set at least 50% in Ireland, it would work on content. However, the author's GR bio says she was born in Dublin, so it qualifies on that count even if not for setting.

I am a huge nonfiction reader, so I would never disallow nonfiction, LOL!

Sheila (sheilaj) | 2221 comments Sandy, I'm hoping to read this book for this task. Normally the series takes place in Ireland however this particular one doesn't look like it does. Nor is there anything on GR that tells about the authors. Here is a link to the authors on fantastic fiction.

http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/h/c... Would that be OK?

Since the link says the authors currently live in Ireland, that should work. Link to the external source when you post.

Sorry, no, that's not going to be feasible to moderate, particularly since the GR entry only shows an editor.

Jamie | 421 comments This is set in a fictional futuristic dystopian Ireland but it's definitely Ireland, will that work?

King of Dublin

Twenty years after a deadly pandemic ravaged the world, Darragh Fergus Anluan and the people of his village have carved out a hard but simple life in the Irish countryside. But with winter comes sickness, and Darragh must travel to Dublin in search of medicine. What he finds there is a ruined city ruled by a madman, where scavenging is punishable by death . . . or conscription.

Ciaran Daly came to Ireland with aid and optimism, but instead was enslaved by the so-called King of Dublin.

Thanks.

Sorry, no, that's not going to be feasible to moderate, particularly since the GR entry only shows an editor, and we cannot verify which individual authors are included and that each one of them fits the task.
