Dorie - Cats&Books :) (dorie--catsbooks) Does anyone else wish that there was a section on audible that listed books with multiple narrators? I find that I get bored with the same narrator throughout the book. Not always just sometimes and I wish I could quickly see the multiple narrated ones.

Dee (austhokie) | 1947 comments not all multiple narrator books are dramatized though

I do agree - I wish there was a way to search for narrators - one, two, male, female etc

Robin P | 1721 comments I would like ithat listing for the opposite reason. I usually prefer one narrator who can do multiple voices. If there are multiple narrators, I would like a sample of each. It has happened that I didn't know there was a second narrator and I disliked that person's style. An exception was Shotgun Lovesongs where there are 4 narrators (I think) and I liked them all.

Dorie - Cats&Books :) (dorie--catsbooks) has anyone listened to an awesome book with multiple narrators recently?

I agree with Robin. I would hate to be "ambushed" with a narrator I hadn't been able to sample.

Does anyone else ever think that?

Margaret | 316 comments I think it is a difficult feat for a narrator to render believably the voice of the other gender. I'm amazed that so many narrators do it so well. I'm thinking of Grover Gardener, Kate Reading, Simon Preble, Davina Porter, Barbara Rosenblatt, George Guidall. There are quite a few others that please me.

HJ I would rather hear one narrator doing voices from the other gender than have multiple narrators in order to avoid this. That becomes a dramatisation, which is something else altogether.

I don't mind if narrators don't try too hard to do different voices; I'd much rather the book was well read (in terms of inflexion and meaning) than well acted -- again, I'm making the distinction between an audiobook and a dramatisation.
