Taliah Lagons | 194 comments I don't read magazines. I used to like the Bob the Builder magazine, but that was really only because it came with silly staws.

Mandie | 355 comments Probably Rome because I am half Italian and I have never been there and Rome is the capital and is an hour away from where my family live.

message 5120: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Ahhh i LOVED pokemon too!! i had a homemade squirtle t-shirt lol.

No.

ttpbm: same?

message 5121: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments I don't know. My relationship with divine figures is odd. There has to be something to have caused similar things in all cultures, but exactly what it is, I don't know. No, I don't believe in supernatural creatures that can do anything, but at the same time, I'm a proud, if not very religious, Jew. I don't mean to offend anyone.

TTPBM: same?

message 5122: by [deleted user] (new)

Yep. I am a Christian to the core. I attend church on Sundays, youth group on Wednesdays, and a home group on Saturday. Just a Christian though. Not a jew, or catholic, or baptist, just a christian.

TTPBM: Same.

message 5123: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Well, I'm not answering, since I always did, but how does Jew fall under the category of Christian?

message 5124: by [deleted user] (new)

Meh, different types of religion, all (so my S.S. teacher says,) based off of Monotheism.

message 5125: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments They're not based of monotheism, they're monotheistic. If anything, Christianity is based off of Judaism. (of course, my SS teacher just tells me wrong information, so...)

message 5126: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (taylorjaylene) | 4557 comments Funny... We just dicussed this in my Sociology class today. Christianity and Judaism are the same in principles for the most part, except for the belief in Jesus as the son of God. But I think it was Judaism that came first.

message 5127: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Judaism did come first. Jesus was Jewish; those who believed he was a son of God/messiah split off from the rest of Judaism after his death.

message 5128: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (taylorjaylene) | 4557 comments So, tecnically, Christianity is a branch of Judaism, not the other way around.

message 5129: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Yup. Although there are some Christians who will get very mad at you if you say that.

message 5130: by Taylor (last edited Feb 01, 2011 03:29PM) (new)

Taylor (taylorjaylene) | 4557 comments Very true... I am speaking entirely from an historical perspective here. Regardless, (as my favorite teacher always says) you must leave with your beliefs intact.

(Kate, your description above sounds like deism.)

message 5131: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Oh, I agree. Just saying.

My description seems part-deism to me, because I'm not sure whether or not I believe in creation either, although it's not impossible.

message 5132: by Mandie (new)

Mandie | 355 comments Faith wrote: "Yep. I am a Christian to the core. I attend church on Sundays, youth group on Wednesdays, and a home group on Saturday. Just a Christian though. Not a jew, or catholic, or baptist, just a christian..."

Well I am a Catholic but I am really not very religious at all. I hardly ever go to church and my parents aren't very religious- my dad is Anglican and my mum is Catholic and she dislikes some aspects of the church. Also my parents agreed that my siblings and I would have my dad's last name and mum's religion so I guess that would give you an idea of how important it is to them. I haven't really decided if I believe in God or not.

TTPBM: Same again.

message 5133: by [deleted user] (new)

No.

I am a Baptist and proud of it!!!!

TTPBM: same (again)

message 5134: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Ummm...don't Baptists believe in God?

message 5135: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes. Why?

message 5136: by Kate (last edited Feb 04, 2011 03:16PM) (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Because that was the question. Whether or not you believe in God(s).

message 5137: by [deleted user] (new)

We believe in only one God. :)

message 5138: by Olivia (last edited Feb 04, 2011 03:20PM) (new)

Yeah, I know. I'm just saying that's what the question was asking.

Yes, I have a phone. (smart idea)

TTPBM: likes bunny rabbits?

Olivia (littledhampir25) | 86 comments lol of course

TTPBM: Favorite city that you've been too?

(Next comment will be 5555. Thats pretty cool)

message 5144: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (taylorjaylene) | 4557 comments Honolulu, Hawaii. (I couldn't resist being #5555.)

TTPBM: Last book you finished?

message 5145: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (meowchelle7) | 150 comments Well right now I'm 90% done with Dicey's Song by Cynthia Voigt (ahh it's sooo sad!), but before that I read Halo by Alexandra Adornetto.

TTPBM: Do you mind if you watch the movie after reading the book?

message 5146: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (taylorjaylene) | 4557 comments I almost always watch the movie after reading the book. Somehow I find pleasure in the fact that the book is ALWAYS better. :)

TTPBM: Same?

message 5147: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (meowchelle7) | 150 comments Yeah, I almost always see the movie too, but my mother refuses to do it. She tells me that she likes to keep her images of the characters and the places she imagined while reading in her head and she doesn't want the movie to ruin how she thinks about the book. Lol.

TTPBM: Same?

message 5148: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments I hate seeing the movie before I've read the book, but after reading it, I like seeing the movie. Usually I hope it will be good, although not as good as the book, but usually I am disappointed. (that doesn't stop me though)

TTPBM: same

message 5149: by ★ Jess (new)

★ Jess | 4295 comments Mod
Im with Taylor, I almost always watch the movie after reading a book-unless I dont like the look of it or want to remember the book as it was (like your mum, Michelle).
For example 'The Running Man' by Stephan King.
It was a fantastic book, but I heard the movie was completely different and changed the unique plot, so I avoided it.

TTPBM: Watches Glee? And if so, favorite songs?

message 5150: by natalie (new)

natalie | 5047 comments YES! I'm the biggest Gleek EVER! So in that case, I cannot pick a favorite song. Right now I am actually watching it. Britney/Brittany >.<
