(Since it's happened once or twice in the currently reading thread I thought we might as well)

Has anyone read the Red Queen? I'm trying to decide if I should go after it and read it or just wait until it comes across my path. I've heard both good and bad things.

Dreams At Dusk (dreamsatdusk) | 39 comments I've read Red Queen and ended up really disliking it. Review here if you're interested: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

i found it just average tbh. the world was kind of interesting and the writing was ok, but it wasn't spectacular. i couldn't really connect to the characters which is personally where it fell flat, but that may have just been me. a lot of people really love it though so maybe give it a shot and see what you think

literary_larissa Has anyone read Afterworlds by Scott Westerfield? I've like his other books, but I hear very mixed ideas about this book, and I was wondering if reading it would be a waste of time.

I love Afterworlds! I think it's absolutely worth it. Both of the stories eventually suck you in so that you don't want to go back to the other section.
