ABANDONED. Twin boys separated at birth in different worlds (children's/YA fantasy)

A children/YA series of books in which a pair of twin boys who were separated at birth as babies into different worlds. One of the boys was left on earth in an orphanage. Years later when the boy was thirteen(?), he and a group of friends saw an advertisement(?) for something (sorry but what i remember of this part is hazy. But they somehow manage to get to the other world through a shadow of a rock near the orphanage when the sun was at it's zenith (i think). There they had adventures and stuff and then met another boy who looked around their age with a group of caravan performers(?) it turned out that the boy was the twin brother and he was actually 50 overs years old as the time in that world passed 5 times quicker but he aged at the same rate as his twin who was on earth and as a result, many people thought him a frea. There was an enemy and they ended up saving the country or world(unsure). Series of quartet or trilogy. Series was read as a whole sometime between 2006 - 2008 so the published date should be before or around that time. Very grateful for any help.
