I agree with Kile being her Aspen. I believe no matter what happens his mother is going to get exactly what she wants of him never leaving. He will leave in a sense when he must visit the site of his buildings but will always have to return home to report. Eadlyn still isn't at the point where she realizes she won't lose everyone via elimination.

i'm all for kile haha the 1st moment his name was mentioned in the book i already felt that spark. :) erik would be a good choice but he's too good and his personality doesn't blend well with eadlyns. hale, there's something wrong in him, i don't know what but i just don't like him. henri, he's such a cutie and he's not the husband material for eadlyn, he's more of a brother to replace ahren hahahaha just kidding.

I think Erik would be good too because he has a good heart and I think they do blend well because he calms her down where she is too spirited (and by that I mean straight up bratty or bitchy). He grounds here when she goes into her own world or reality where she naively thinks everyone has to love her and also thinks she has to assert her power over everyone because she's a woman. But I still like Kile the best.

He's not the childhood friend though they always hated each other and he wasn't willingly put in to the Selection. I don't see him as the Aspen of her generation. He is our own mix of America and Aspen simply because he didn't want to be there but we can see him slowly falling for her and also because he's willing to just be her friend after years of thinking she was no more than a bratty little bitch (Which I still think but we'll see in the next book). Erik is definitely a contender I like him so so much!

I just finished the book and i am absolutly horrified i have to wait like a year just to find out what happens not fair now i just want to cry. But i am begging Kile to win but a part of me is saying Erik is going to be some competition. Im not really worried about anyone else i like Hale and Henri there very sweet. This is the same reasoning I have for why Cass might decide to have Eadlyn end up with Erik.

But if the monarchy dissolves (which I think there is a 1/4 chance of happening, not because of all the angry citizens, but based on the fact that in the earlier books the caste system ended. If Cass wants Illéa to return to the original US, the next step would be to eliminate the monarchy. I give it a 1/4 chance because that is a lot of ground to cover in only one more book.), then I think Eadlyn could end up with Kile. Because then the one major roadblock with Kile would be eliminated, because Eadlyn wouldn't be tied to the thrown, so neither would he.

There is also the idea that her younger brother could take the thrown instead, too, if she chose to give up her power for Kile.

I Wrote a Wedding Scene for Book 5, and It's Similar to The Twilight Wedding But Different

I’m 19 years old. It’s my wedding day

When I take a look at myself in the mirror, at first glance looks as if my face is free of make-up, but it’s only an illusion. The make-up is done so subtly it looks like it’s not there – but what it does, is accentuate my features, making my eyes look bigger, my lips fuller.

My Face is glowing.

My hair Is pinned neatly into a simple, but graceful bun, My face is framed by a few loose strands of dark hair, they look nearly accidental, but they are not.

I look beautiful.

I selected a gown that, instead of being in a raucous battle with these features, reveals them. Accentuates them. The fabric is made of White cream silk that makes my skin shimmer. I tenderly Touch the beautiful silk of my gown. I ran my fingers lightly over the smooth, soft fabric in wonder. I had never touched something so elegant and so delicate in my life. The creamy fabric pulls in elegant curves across the bodice highlighting the curve of my waist. the skirt in voluminous waves that cascade to the ground, in a snow of chiffon and lace.

My feet shifted in my shoes. They weren't uncomfortable, but I was unspeakably nervous so I had to do something to occupy myself.


The music slowly morphed into a new song.

A sudden fanfare trilled through the soaring music. I recognized my cue.

When we reach the entrance, a hush falls over the enormous crowd inside. They rise to their feet.

Dad pulled my hand through his arm and then grasped it tightly.

One step at a time, I told myself. I Was Walking Up The Aisle.though I could hear the murmurs and rustling of the audience as I came into view. Blood flooded my cheeks at the sound; of course I could be counted on to be the blushing bride.

I was looking for him and searched across the rows of satin-draped chairs - blushing more deeply as I took in the crowd of faces all focused on me - until I found him at last, standing before an arch
At the end of the aisle stands Eric, so straight and strong. My friend, my lover, my chosen life anchor.

All I really saw was Eric's face; it filled my vision then, as he met my awed gaze, he broke into a breathtaking smile .

He wears a crown for the first time in his life, as befits the prince consort. His eyes shimmer.


The march was too slow as I struggled to pace my steps to its rhythm. Mercifully, the aisle was very short. And then, at last, at last, I was there. Erik held out his hand. Dad took my hand and, in a symbol as old as the world, placed it in Erik's.

Ohhhh!Good point. Most of us want Erik or Kile to win. Kiera is prolly checking our reactions towards the guys to see which one we want Eadlyn to end up with...then ruin our hopes and dreams by messing it up.

I like both Kile and Eric. Im not sure who I like more. I think her ending up with Kile would be simultaneously typical and unexpected at the same time. Typical because he's the childhood friend, but also unusual cuz in YA the childhood friend rarely gets the girl. I feel like it was easy to tell from the beginning that it will come down to Kile and Erik, but I could be wrong. I feel like Erik is more than meets the eye (and im also 50% sure he's actually a prince in disguise cuz why not?) and im interested to see where he ends up. Ean definitely has a hidden agenda, he's pretty sketch and he needs to leave sorry. My prediction is that she will end up with Erik because that's the kind of "plot twist" that we can all see coming.

I don't think Kile falls in the "childhood friend" category others have referenced, because they were never friends. She convinced herself she didn't like him, so getting to know him during The Selection is like getting to know a new person. While Childhood Friend rarely gets the girl, Guy the Heroine Used to Hate often gets the girl. Plus, Eadlyn ending up with a guy she knew all her life would be a nice contrast to America NOT ending up with the guy she knew growing up. I am on Team Kile.

The idea of Erik being in love with Henri is very interesting! Regardless he seems so close to Henri, so ending up with Eadlyn would be like a betrayal to his friend.
