I agree the writing does seem a little juvenile. It's fast paced and rushed at times. And some of the dialogue is slow and rushed too.

Finished: I sped through the rest of the book because it was so bad. I just couldn't stand it. This definitely has a one star from me.

Yes this is turning out to be a poorly written book. Not interesting at all. I'm io to chapter 6 and just Shaking my head at how it's written. I was expecting more.

The characters lack development and personality. They seem rushed and not there at times.

Done done done done. Yikes. What a read. I was expecting more from it. It could have been better.

For me the characters just lacked so much. Especially character development.

I think so. I found myself just saying to myself "just finish it and get done with it." I was happy when I was done and a little disappointed with how it was. I wanted more out of it.

I'm interested to learn the truth about Scarlett's past but not so much her present day interactions. I do like how we get Noah's perspective too, as I assumed this would only include one, and also that his POV revealed that there was more to his character, and Scarlett's past, than what she knew. Third quarter - (view spoiler)[I'm just not feeling the emotions in this book, for some reason. I can understand everything is tense and emotional when Scarlett has finally understood Noah's part in the plans for her, but I just can't connect to it. It feels a little dramatic and angsty, even when I know it is an actually serious topic. I also feel quite sure he will turn out to be her saviour and not the one to condemn her to death.
