Why should he have made it clear? Or rather, he did make it clear. Clear enough that millions of readers understood it, anyways, while a small % of religious individuals crucified these books (pun semi-intended) without reading or paying close enough attention.
If you don't enjoy the books I'm not trying to make you, they are purely for entertainment. It's just frustrating how many religious folk rail so hard against a book that is only trying to knowledge the DANGERS of religion. Shouldn't religious people want to also acknowledge and therefore avoid repeating such dangers? That's clearly why so many religious groups mobilized against the book/movie; they don't want to lose power.

So worshipping something makes it real?

At one point, people really believed fairies existed tho.

Thanks for your serious response to my leg-pulling post. I have seen this concept in fiction but did not know it was a serious belief in reality. Interesting.

Your entire posts are illogical; I merely cut to the heart of the illogicality.

Mythology are the stories that come with the religion. Christianity has its own mythology just every other religion, the stories of Abel&Cain, Noah, and Eden are the Christian Mythology.
Side Note: The Christian Mythology takes many of its roots from the Roman Mythology which in turn took its mythology from the Greeks. PLAGIARISM!!! :D You've got to love the zealots.

No, I regard your thoughts as illogical because they are illogical. We are barely discussing the book, if at all.

Mythology are the stories t..."
Yeah they are, The Scottish, Irish, Norse, Wiccan and many others believe heavily in faeries and incorporate them in their religion's mythology.
WTF, don't be close minded about other peoples religions and beliefs, there are millions of religions out there and you think that not a one of them have faeries in them? Go back to your hole.

That's the stupidest thing to come out of your mouth yet, and also very presumptuous of you to think that I would think that.
The leading religion in the world is Christianity and Catholicism meaning that the majority of the world believes in God and Jesus.
However, being the type of person that I am, which is free-thinking and open-minded I do not for one second doubt that some people still follow those ancient religions, and in fact call it that instead of mythologies. The world is a big place and you can't say anything is for certain.
And again I will repeat: Go back to your hole.

Are you SERIOUSLY telling us that you people are tearing this book to shreds (figuratively!) and branding it inappropriate for its CONTENT and half of you haven't actually even read it? Do the words primary sources mean anything to anyone?! *headdesk*

I fail to see how it matters how many followers a belief has. There is no solid proof that any God was ever present on Earth. On mt Olympus or anywhere else. There is no actual solid proof that the crucifixion of Jesus ever happened. Why, when there is no proof of either should anyone insist that anyone else is a fool for believing something and they themselves are not. Personally I think everyone who believes that anyone who doesnt pray is going to hell is a psycho but meh... Their lives.

So, to some people what you call mythology is their religion doesn't matter what you think of them. Everyone is allowed to their own opinion.
I personally dislike Christianity, I think it has too bloody of a history, it advocates discrimination between people, has repressed other religions, and its mythology was plagiarized from the Romans. Not the type of religion I'd like to follow, doesn't mean I'm going to start calling all Christians and bible toters "psycho" like you so rudely did to other people.
BTW there are more than twelve olympian gods.

None up in the heavens, either.

And this is my point exactly. THANK you Rachael for injecting some sense.
Cool, there's two Claires here. This could get nicely confusing :P

I feel like the daemons were the only thing that set this book apart from others and the idea sounds so intriguing and original, to be born with a creature that knows everything about you and is essentially an extension of your soul. I wonder what shape my daemon would be.
