Rosie | 2 comments This book (http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/61...) has a typo in the ISBN-13. The ISBN is listed as 0007326742 (not sure whether this is correct). The ISBN-13 is listed as 9780007326747, which cannot be correct as it belongs to an edition of Wuthering Heights by Charlotte Brontë. The cover image of the Brontë book shows up on the Nation of Nations page. There is no page for the Wuthering Heights with that ISBN. I have that edition of WH, and wanted to be able to add it to my library. Can't even do it manually because the ISBN is already in use (incorrectly) by Nation of Nations.

Here are the details and front cover of this edition of Wuthering Heights:

http://www.borders.co.uk/book/wutheri...

I've posted images of it in a PDF file on http://www.rosieperera.com/xfer/Wuthe....

I don't know where to find the correct info for Nation of Nations, because that error seems to be propagated all over the Internet.

Amazon's ability to disseminate inaccurate information is incomparable. Working on fixing . . .

Rosie | 2 comments Thanks, that was quick! But now the "Nation of Nations" page appears to be gone. There were people who had read that book. Won't this affect them? Will it disappear from their shelves?

Also, on Wuthering Heights, I thought the 10-digit ISBN was supposed to be the same as the ISBN-13 except without the first three digits. It's now 0007326742. Shouldn't it be 0007326747, since the ISBN-13 is 9780007326747?

Yes, once something is listed wrong in Amazon.com it gets scraped by all sorts of sites, and putting the horses back in the barn is impossible.

I appreciate the Librarians group of GoodReads doing their part to fix things! I'm pleased to now be one of you! Still learning the ropes a bit, though. Uploaded my first book cover image today and will do more as time allows.

I deleted the incorrect edition of Nations, which shifted the 2 reviews to the most popular edition of the book.

The final digit of an ISBN is called the check digit, and is based on the sum of the other digits. Therefor the final digit of an ISBN-10 and its corresponding ISBN-13 are usually NOT the same.

This ISBN converter can tell you whether a given pair are correct. And that 0007326747 is not a valid ISBN.
