I need help with number 2 too!! I wish I could help you with the first one Erika, but I don't read a lot of SCI-FI. I'm going to read . It is a standalone, but an adult spin off of the Lux series that I love. You could consider starting the Lux series . I don't believe you've read it and it is fantastic.

You will love the Lux Series!!! I know the whole alien thing is a put off, but the writing and the characters will make you forget that hang up!!

Does Gus have Hispanic blood because he speaks it quite a bit and there were even some times that he thinks in Spanish???

I think it's bec he lives in San Diego, where Spanish is predominant it being near the Mexico border and all.
