(view spoiler)[ the trial concept is reminding me of the hunger games a little bit. im also confused now as to whether elias likes helene or not, and whether he will end up with laia. i hate how the author made laia 'incredibly beautiful'. why in all girl meets boy books is the girl incredibly pretty? why can't she be average looking? why do main character boys only fall in love with the gorgeous girl? I feel like this whole experience is really going to change her. As for Elias, I kind of really want him to buck up and take these Trials seriously because I feel like if he were to become emperor then he could be able to change the way the kindgom is ruled.
