PLEASE INTRODUCE YOURSELF TO YOUR FELLOW JAMES MASON MEMBERS!
Hi thereMy name is Jack Scott and I’m really pleased to have joined the group with such an interesting name. My debut book, Perking the Pansies – Jack and Liam move to Turkey, was released through Summertime Publishing in December 2011. The book is a bitter-sweet tragi-comedy that recalls the first year of a British gay expat couple living in a Muslim country. The book emerged from a tongue in cheek blog that I started after moving to Turkey in 2008. It quickly became the most popular blog of its kind on that side of the Aegean. First reviews for the book are really positive and it’s selling well on Amazon. I was recently interviewed on the Writer’s Abroad Radio Show at the Women’s Information Network. On the 6th February I presented the book to the Polari Literary Salon at London’s Royal Festival Hall.

Oh yeah, sure do! But I just discovered 2 HUGE termite holes in our garden. I mean, I think those things go all the way down to the centre of the earth, they're so deep. Not a good sign. Termites = Bad

Now, that's a problem that we don't have, living on a boat. No termites; no garden, either, unless you consider all of the stuff that grows on the bottom. I do spend a few hours a month down there keeping weeds in check, so maybe it is a garden...
Yup. That counts! Of course, if you ever did have termite problems on a boat, that might be a 'slight' problem...

Hello all. This is my first input into this group (so be gentle with me, lol). I'm Roy or Rockin' Royston as my Hospital Radio colleagues call me, I love reading and the first proper book I ever read was 'The Bourne Identity' by Robert Ludlum (how bad was the film adaptation in comparison ?). My fave genres are Fantasies, Horrora, Thrillers and True Crime.I do hope to put my hand to writing my own stories again someday and thanks all for reading this.
Hi everyone! I have been a lover of books since 1977. I was pregnant and my husband was out to see for long periods of time. I began with Tolkien's Trilogy and was hooked on exploring other lives and places through books.I am the author of "Joy in the Mourning" written to help people deal with the tragic loss of a loved one.

Ok let me see - apart from being a chronic lurker I am a writer and blogger from New Zealand. I write non-fiction and normally general fiction (probably leaning toward Chick Lit or women's fiction) but have been trying my hand at YA recently and enjoying it (no, no vampires or wizards). I have 3 kids (20, 14,12),a man I adore, 3 cats, a labrador, am something of a technogeek (I need to write a best seller so I can get an iPad to match my iPhone - in electric pink to match my laptop), am a Buddhist, and I *may* have a passing obsession with Bruce Springsteen. I read traditional and ebooks of all genres and styles, and I review for my own site, The Kindle Book Review and on here of course. Nice to meet you all. *Waves hi*
LOL, Angelique! I can see the rationale for the best seller. You have to have the full set, and it better match. What about an iPod? Better add that to the list. And the best part: they have it in pink.
Welcome Angelique, the most important influence in my life, Valeska, came from New Zealand. I am the author of Deadly Pleasures, a mystery/thriller. You can check it out at www.maryfirmin,com and you can see my video book trailer on my blog: http://maryfirmin.blogspot.com. If you will post your web and your blog I will sign in and "like" it. You will love this sight, Mary Firmin
Hello:I'm a retired government official who has been a sci fi fan for decades. Oops does that age me ?
I've moved from Isaac Asimov through Arthur C Clarke to Ben Bova.
Others favourites are Ian Dougles, Robert J. Sawyer, Jack Campbell, and Kim Stanley Robinson.
I discovered Steampunk about a year ago and it is on my list as well.
Thanks for the invite to join
Fred

It's the pink - it's getting to me....

Hi everyone, I don't know if this was the group in which we spoke of Patrick McNee of the Avengers. I saw him today and he looks wonderful. I told him about all the interest in him online and he thanked everyone. The Avengers have just celebrated a 50 year anniversary for that show. It was the first TV show that created a female action star. Come to think of it next time I see him I am going to ask him is he knew James Mason. Regards, Mary

Thanks so much Mary!! actually I am limited to 5,000 friends- goodreads limit-so must respect their rules- we actually have over 5,685 members- I just have to keep a certain number of friend spots open for new friend requests- so always careful about that and always worried about deleting friends as there is nothing personal- just a constant balancing act to allow me to accept new friend requests- I try to not delete friends unless I have too- and if I get emailed by someone I deleted- randomly!- I immediately re-friend them! like I said- a balancing act which I do not like!!

Hi Vered,
So far, I've been spared that. :) I like to think that the 'K' gives the name a certain cachet or umpf.
