Clark Zlotchew | 35 comments Hello. I see the last entry was in November 2009. Is this group still active? This seems to be an eclectic group, and my reading & writing preferences are pretty varied. I read both fiction (espionage, thrillers, short stories, coming of age, etc.) and non-fiction (history, culture, languages & linguistics) My writing (17 books) follows the same lines. In fiction, two novels (military/action under pseudonym Cliff Garnett; and espionage/thriller) and a short-story collection (Finalist in the Next Generation Indie Book Awards, short-story category, 2011). Non-fiction: literary criticism of Spanish and Latin-American literature; books teaching Spanish at various levels; translations of short stories and poetry from Spanish). http://www.clarkzlotchew.com

JackieB | 3 comments Hello everyone and thank you Rick for inviting me. I live in a small town in Leicestershire, England and I love reading. I read pretty much any genre, but my current favoutites are crime/mystery and some fantasy (not too keen on high fantasy - I think I OD'd in my teens). However, historical books are making a comeback into my reading lists after being out of favour for a while and I have just discovered Steampunk. I think this group looks really good and I look forward to getting to know people better.

Steven Wood Collins (stevenwoodcollins) | 4 comments Puramore: The Lute of Pythagoras

Thanks to Rick's invitation I joined your delightful group today. I hope to contribute to discussion as both an author and reviewer.

By way of introduction, I'm a former Wall Street stock broker and trader with over twenty-years of intangible investment and trading experience. I graduated with a degree in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley during the 1970s.

Puramore is my debut novel. An American by birth and education, I wrote the work from the perspective of a contemporary British novelist in order to enhance thematic elements as well as character development and portrayal. The perspective was largely influenced by George Orwell, Arthur C. Clarke and William Blake.

I'm a recreational scuba diver who enjoys traveling to exotic dive sites. My love of the sea and marine life gives me an unbounded appreciation and support of "green" issues, especially those devoted to the conservation of endangered species and coral reefs.

My two current literary projects include the sequel to Puramore and a satirical comedy novel, entitled The Shovells. At present, the title for the sequel is The Retopians. I plan to complete manuscripts for both works within the next two years.

I reside in Costa Rica with my Costa Rican wife.

I look forward to reading your reviews.

J.H. Soeder (jhsoeder) Hi, thanks for inviting me to join!

My name is J.H. Soeder (jon) and I write both fiction and non-fiction. My newest book "Haddie's in Our Closet!" is a hilarious but true ghost story!

I have just set up a 20 book giveaway for Goodreads lovers and I am now working on a science fiction series, the first book due out in December of this year. It is great to be on board!

I am a bit eclectic when it comes to books as I enjoy all genres. Basically, I love to read a good book that is well written.
