Lora (lorabanora) My name is Lora, and I have wandered over from the Novella group. I like the classics, I write, and I am involved as a stay at home mom who does cyber school with her kids. I garden, I am LDS, I like letter writing, and I really enjoy a nap that comes as a pleasant opportunity rather than an imposition that my fatigue will not let me ignore.
I should say I have written, and want to get it going again. But I never lost my reading, which has been a good comforting thing.

She is a visionary who receives messages through vivid dreams and is able to determine the fate of others. The story is set 2000yrs ago in a middle eastern village, Bethel. Aba's main attributes are his loyalty and protective instincts towards those he loves. Aba is faced with many challenges and experiences great despair at his inability to protect the one he loves with tragic consequences. Through the darkness Aba must find his way back home and only through Shamana can his heart once again find peace. Neo Jade (neojade) | 1 comments My name is Neo Jade, I write profusely. I also read religiously. I've read too many books to count, though I'm doing my best to add them all on Goodreads, as I remember them.
My last residence had literal wall to wall, floor to ceiling, books. Now they're all in boxes in the garage waiting for their inevitable release.

I am new to Goodreads, but it looks like a great community to be a part of. Already I've found some books that I didn't know existed from authors I enjoy reading, that I can't wait to get into.

I live in LA, CA.
I write mostly Sci-Fi/Fantasy. Though I'm soon going to be working on a children's novel in the vein of Alice in Wonderland.

My first published novel, DNA: The Awakened.

Juliet Aharoni (juliet_aharoniyahoocom) | 5 comments Hi to all,
I'm a debut author, busy writing my second and third novels. My first novel, 'Together They Overcame' is available on Amazon.
‘Together They Overcame’ is a love story between an Israeli soldier and the daughter of a German Catholic.

As the tale unravels, it becomes clear why such a relationship in the 50’s might not work.
Although there are graphic sex scenes between the young, married couple, the story is really about their struggle to survive the hatred of the mother-in-law for his wife because she is the descendant of a German Catholic. The setting is in Israel in the late 50's, not long after the holocaust and the memories of the concentration camps still prevail.

Juliet Aharoni (juliet_aharoniyahoocom) | 5 comments Hi all,
I wrote the novel, TOGETHER THEY OVERAME. I'm a South African married to an Israeli. My novel, Together They Overcame weaves fictionalized versions of my own
experiences living in Israel into the romantic
tale of a newlywed couple striving against all
odds. Together They Overcame is an opposites-attract
romance set in Israel after the 1956 Sinai Campaign. The country is already struggling from the influx of immigrants who survived the World War II concentration
camps, and now also faces terrorist attacks
and food and water shortages.

Dean Cole (deanmcole) | 3 comments Thanks for the invite, Rick.

Dean M. Cole here. I divide my time between my day job as a commercial helicopter pilot and my nightly endeavors as an author. Additionally, in my sparse free time, I build custom motorcycles and airplanes.

I recently returned to Goodreads after a two-year hiatus. As I mentioned to Rick in a recent message, I became disenchanted with the site and walked away from it for a while. After some serious soul searching and an honest appraisal of my previous novella, SECTOR 64: Coup de Main, I realized Goodreads wasn't the problem, I was.

That insight led to a new, professionally edited and vastly expanded version of Coup de Main entitled SECTOR64: Ambush.

Sometimes I think I could write a book about that growth process. As I worked on book two of this two-book series, I realized book one needed additional development. I drew my characters too shallowly; I needed to flesh-out both the protagonists and antagonists. Additionally, as I sharpened my trade, I realized my first effort didn’t deliver the polish and finish I desired.

With the help of a professional editor, I rewrote the entire story. We broadened the characters, cleaned up the writing, and added a parallel plot line to give the reader a clearer picture of the apocalyptic hell and human suffering the alien attack visited upon humanity. In the process, Coup de Main grew into SECTOR 64: Ambush. The new material, characters, and scenes more than doubled the size of the book.

I'd love your thoughts on it. If you are interested, please add it to your "Want to Read" shelf.

SECTOR64 Ambush (SECTOR 64, #1) by Dean M. Cole

Sincerely,
Dean M. Cole
