PLEASE INTRODUCE YOURSELF TO YOUR FELLOW JAMES MASON MEMBERS!
It's seldom that one finds a group of people so thoroughly sympathetic to one's views on books and things printed. Thank you for the invite and for introducing me to such a group. I am an author, currently awaiting the release of my second Christmas novel, Kris Kringle's Magic. Looking forward to many and varied conversations! Diane Stringam Tolley
Hello all! My name is Angela Wallace and I write urban fantasy/sweet paranormal romances. You can check out my books through my profile page if you want: http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/.... I'm running giveaways through the rest of September to celebrate my fifth book's release next month. Phoenix Feather is going through Saturday!I also love to read. Between my Kindle and library card, I've always got a book on hand—mostly urban fantasy and YA fantasy, but every once in a while I try something different.
I'm looking forward to exploring this group. Thanks for the invite, Rick!

Greetings all. Thanks Rick for the invitation to this group. I've recently published my first novel,
. I look forward to chatting with all and sundry about my book, yours and anything that springs to mind.
Cheers for now
Thanks for the invitation to join the group. I'm a huge fan of James Mason, so I appreciate any book club established in his honor. As for me, I'm an avid (but painfully slow) reader, run a book blog called The Quivering Pen (www.davidabramsbooks.blogspot.com) and just had my debut novel, Fobbit, published by Grove/Atlantic.
Thanks for the invite, Rick! How did you guess that "North By Northwest" is one of my favorite movies? I'm Sara Jo Easton, avid book reader and author of a series of fantasy novels involving dragon-like creatures. This has little to do with James Mason, of course, so...20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is great in both novel and film form!
Liam McCurry, U.S. Marine (Guadalcanal-Korea) and thriller novel author, ended his 87-year tour of duty on this earth on Aug. 8, 2012 at his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
He was author of seven thriller novels while living in Monterey, CA. His 528-page hardcover novel, TERMINAL POLICY, was published in December, 2009 by Maria Dennison, owner of Ashleigh Publishing Co. Liam’s voice can continue to be heard, as he narrated the audio book in CD and MP3 formats. Five e-books followed, as THE RAKER CHRONICLES series, in 2010 and 2011, published by Digi-Tall Media.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Margie, children Lori, Lee and Michael Taylor, seven grandchildren and countless friends around the world who remember his humor, intelligence and quick wit.
Always the lover of good times and good people, Liam was a member of the Monterey Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge, ECV, MEFOT/Duffys Tavern, and a life member of the VFW and the American Legion. Remembrance gifts may be made to an Elks or Moose charity or any veteran’s service group. Friends and Raker Readers are asked to hoist a glass in his memory, recall old times, and care for each other.

Thank you to Rick for the invitation to join this group. I love finding other readers and writers!I write YA realistic/thriller novels and paranormal fantasy novels (for teens, though adults also read them). In SCARS, Kendra, a sexual abuse survivor, must stop hurting herself before it's too late. There's a lot of me in Scars-like Kendra, I'm a sexual abuse survivor, queer, and I used self-harm to cope. It's actually my own arms on the cover.
In Hunted, Caitlyn is a telepath in a world where it's illegal to have any paranormal powers at all. HUNTED deals with oppression in a dystopian, fantasy way.
STAINED comes out next year from Harcourt--in it, Sarah is abducted, and must find a way to rescue herself.
And I'll be releasing a YA paranormal fantasy in the next few months as an ebook and a print book.
I'm honored that Scars and Hunted have both won awards--that's such a thrill! And so are the reader letters.
I love reading good books, talking about books and writing, and finding new authors to read.
Take good care,
Cheryl Rainfield

*****What a great story! The plot leading you on a dark and dangerous adventure full of intrigue, betrayal and magic. This book pulls you in and immerses you into a gothic world full of strange creatures, mysterious characters and elusive secrets. The attention to detail is amazing, as well-imagined and developed as anything in the Harry Potter series.

Hello, everyone. I've been a member here for a while, albeit an inactive one. My debut, In This Life, will be released on October 8 and I've been buried with pre-release marketing. I'm a HUGE fan of any book that grabs me from page one and makes me forget I have a life outside of the story until I read the last page. My absolute favorite author is Robert Crais, though I'm also a fan of Harlan Coben, Jennifer Crusie, Hank Phillippi-Ryan and MJ Rose. I've also recently gotten turned onto Sharon Clare, who's a brand new author with a terrific voice.
Terri, I love Harlan Coben (all his stand-alones) and MJ Rose, too. I'll have to check out the others you mentioned! I also really love all of Dick Francis' books that he wrote before his wife died--I wish there were more! And Linwood Barclay. I read a ton of YA books--I have too many favorite authors to mention, but a few are:
realistic fiction: Ellen Hopkins, Jennifer Brown, April Henry, Gail Giles, A M Jenkins, Wendy Orr, Laurie Halse Anderson, Sara Zarr, Jay Asher, Kathleen Jeffrie Johnson, Julie Anne Peters, Elizabeth Scott, Laura Wiess, Gayle Foreman, Elaine Marie Alphin...
fantasy: Jennifer Lynn Barnes, Beth Revis, Lois Duncan, Adele Griffin, Cinda Williams Chima, Pam Bachorz, Malinda Lo, Cindy Pon, Melinda Metz, Tamora Pierce, Marlene Perez, Lena Coakley, Jackie Kessler, Heather Brewer, Suzanne Collins, Jessica Day George, Alyxandra Harvey...
and so many more!

Hello, Rick invited me to the group and I am thankful. I've written a trilogy and prequel about an unusual family in Arizona and Mexico spanning from the 1870's through to 1911. It is a revisionist western that I am hoping, and it seems by the many nice reviews, that women will like. It is NOT for men who don't like strong women, as I've learned from a few scathing Amazon reviews, ha ha. Oh well, can't be all things to all people, I guess.
Hi, I'm Stephen Booth, a British crime novelist. I've been lurking here for a while, and you all look pretty harmless. :) I've been a reader all my life, and a writer almost as long. Now I'm the author of 12 novels in the Ben Cooper & Diane Fry series, which feature two young Derbyshire police detectives, all set in England's beautiful and atmospheric Peak District. My first book was BLACK DOG, winner of the Barry Award for Best British Crime Novel, and my latest is DEAD AND BURIED, just published in the USA.
Many thanks to Rick for an invitation to join the group. I'm looking forward to hearing what you're all reading!
Best wishes,
Stephen

Hi everyone,Thank you for the inviting me Rick.
My name is Jim and my reading interests are wildly eclectic. My bookshelf here gives a pretty good sampling - lots of escapism entertainment and guilty pleasures to be sure. I also read a lot of non-fiction about a variety of subjects, especially pop culture, philosophy, nature and science. Right now I am actually re-reading "Masters of the Planet" by Ian Tatersall.
I also read screenplays (and write them). Two of my books (with a third on the way) are written in the screenplay format).
I write two columns for Examiner.com (one for pop culture, one for movie and television soundtracks). I do not usually talk much about my books in forums. Actually I never have before, but Rick was generous enough to ask me to post something, so this once...
My latest book "Sword of the Bull Mongoni" is up for a Goodreads Giveaway right now. Feel free to check it out. "Sword" is a stand-alone sequel to "Rise of the Bull Mongoni". There will be a third book coming soon, completing the trilogy. They are written in the screenplay format and can best be described as smash mouth action adventure with a science fiction element. In movie lingo it would be pitched as "Games of Thrones" meets "Planet of the Apes".
My other books vary in subject and premise. Someone called "She" Ellison-esque science fiction and the reviewer at the publisher called it "erotic noir".
"Video Noir" is a stand-alone sequel to "She". "All About Amy" is a hard-boiled paranormal romance. "Action Figure" is, well, sort of like the Michael Douglas movie "Falling Down".
Sorry to ramble. Self promotion is officially over and all future posts will be to comment on other authors and share thoughts about books I am reading or have read.
Thanks,
Jim

I started writing when I was a kid and published my first booklet on electronics at about 17. (I later became an electronics design engineer and then a publications manager.)
I wrote half-a-dozen non-fiction books many years ago and moved on to my real love - fiction - with the publication of a psychological thriller called 'Sandman', set on the south cost of England, in 2010. I like to set my fiction in real locations as much as possible. Most of my working career up to that time was in technical publications as a publications manager. As you can see, writing was always in my blood.
I have a particular interest in the relationship between science and God, and my eBook 'Reality Check: Science Meets Religion' delves deeply into this. I am final proofing a novel to come out fairly soon that may intrigue those who are interested in this area - the mysteries of life - although it is, first and foremost, a character-driven, humorous quest novel - with a twist. Details about this will soon be on my website. That's what I like to write, and read: novels about real characters - Which is why I was delighted when Sophie King endorsed 'Sandman' with the phrase: 'A gripping psychological read with characters that reach out and grab you. A real page-turner.' I do try my utmost to deliver 'characters' and that was a principal aim with my forthcoming novel.
Most of my social media output is restricted to Twitter (@authorkingsley) because I can slot this in with my work quite well. Please follow me there. I'm not really into Facebook. My author website, iankingsley.com, has full details of my books, including video trailers. You are invited to visit me there as well. I am also webmaster of a travel website, synergise.com, which includes a bookshelf to help promote author's work, principally fiction.
If any of you guys are interested in reading an early pdf version of my forthcoming book to later review on Goodreads or Amazon, please contact me via my website. It would be great to talk! For further details please visit http://bit.ly/PagRIS. Thanks a lot! (Book bloggers are especially invited and I am happy to do Q&A on relevant blogs.)
Also, if you would like to post a review on 'Reality Check', see what it is about on my website and then also contact me.
Nice to 'virtually' meet you! I don't know how best to do this as a newbie to this blog, but if you want to comment on my work here I should be pleased to hear from you.
