When she made Kile go get the tiarra off Josie's head and then CARRY IT AROUND... And she dissed his tied and made him take it off... Just so rude. kile has grown on me a bit, but i still think her ending up with him would be too predictable. and he wants to leave anyway! he doesn't want to stay and not follow his dreams because of her!

Joining group! After finishing the book ten minutes ago, (view spoiler)[ it's going to be Erik. Easily. She adores Henri, but the language barrier would make things impossible and so many times the book foreshadowed that. LOVE Kile--the kissing scenes are awesome, and the scenes when they actually connect even more so--but his dream is to get away from the palace, not to be tied down to it. He'll be the Aspen of this book, and most likely the #2 contender after Erik.

Ahhh Erik. I actually really adore him. We all know Keira Cass is a sucker for the romance that stems from friendship, and that's what she's set up again for Erik and Eadlyn (mirroring Maxon and America). There's going to be lots of bro drama because Erik's already realizing he's falling for her but he's got that loyalty to Henri holding him back (and also the fact that he's not even in the Selection). Can't wait for her to realize she's turned into a softie and loves him back :D (hide spoiler)]

Well I have officially finished and I had the same thought you did Abbie.. (view spoiler)[ I remember Kiera tweeting about writing a part of the story that was very very difficult/sad for her to write. As soon as I heard America was in the hospital I thought oh no she's gonna kill her off... I can't handle that.

I'm actually really disappointed with this book.. Sure by the end some of the characters were starting to grow on me but I just found it to be predictable and unrealistic.. I can't stand the cliff hanger! I can't stand having to wait another year to find out who wins the selection! And then that will be the end?!? Or will she come back with even MORE story after that.. I don't like this. I wish she would have ended at 3 and gone on to a new story. This book seemed forced and lacking key elements (hide spoiler)]

Who wins the Selection: As per my earlier post, I think it's going to be Erik. I think there will be a tie back to the part in The Heir that talks about how the castes are now dissolved for everyone but Eadlyn; I think her choice of Erik over the Selection guys will be her way of breaking free of her caste.

Kile will be another strong contender for her heart and will ultimately help Eadlyn become a much (MUCH) better person than in The Heir, but he'll get his wish of studying and leaving the palace.

Hale will turn out to be the gay best friend (love him! Everyone needs a good gay best friend)

Eadlyn will leave the palace and actually start speaking to her subjects (totally surprised Maxon/America didn't raise her like this to start with). She'll grow as a person and quit being so entitled and spoiled, and start to develop some depth.

Somehow, Aspen and Lucy will get to be parents.

Ahren will come back because you can't just get rid of an awesome character like him! Plus he's her twin. He has to be in her life.

Pretty please Kiera Cass let us find out what happened to Kota and let it be a fate adequate for his slimy self.

As for America on her deathbed... no ideas. If Kenna died so young along with America's dad, it's not looking good... but I just don't feel like it's her time to go yet. My money's on her to survive at least until the end of book 5. (hide spoiler)]

I think that what Kile doesn't see yet is that, with his ideas and as Prince Consort, he'd be able to do much more for Illea than just leaving the palace and eking out a living on his own.
