I mean, she's been arrogant and snobby from the beginning till the end, and that just can't be! I'm glad that her brother was straightforward and didn't sugarcoat it, that's the only way for her to realise her stubbornness. I'm so looking forward to knowing how she tries to make amends for her behaviour... (hide spoiler)]

Honestly, I kinda liked it more than America and Maxon's story. More credible, and more potential candidates to root for :)

I just finished chapter 29. (view spoiler)[ I thought I knew who I was rooting for but there are several good choices of the remaining guys! Eadlyn is starting to have a heart. I don't remember what I read but she asked herself a questions about why those guys were getting past her shields, and I thought to myself it's because you're a woman and you can care if you want to! Haha. (hide spoiler)]

Like Lu said, this story is more credible. I think I'll finish it all today too. It's up-putdownable. I'm enjoying it. The character development and plot pace are both great. I'm impressed. I thought I wasn't going to like it but I'm absorbed in it.

I feel you, it's kinda the same to me. I always end up finding faults in the main characters, but this one was so easy that it wasn't even funny, and the fine line between hate and sympathy started blurring haha

Such a good point! I think I've read a book with a shy main character and for me it was difficult to see them get run over by people who talk too much or make decisions faster. But honestly for the life of me I can't remember what book it was or anything about the plot! I could do some research though and see if there are good books with shy characters and recommend them to you!

Haha no thanks I'm alright :) I choose the books I read, so I shouldn't get frustrated. I'm really mainstream when it comes to reading, but that's because I need to get in on the hype :p Also doesn't help when I only read YA and they're all the same haha. When (if) I switch to adult books I think I'll find some more relatable main characters.

And then she goes and asks Hale out, and she feels anxious about 2 guys, and it just kind of frustrates me, how they can't choose just one guy. But then, if she had chosen just one guy that would have frustrated me too because she wouldn't be weighing up her options. Haha it really just can't win :p I didn't like the way she didn't even explain to Hale about her sketches. It was a perfectly innocent question on his part! (hide spoiler)]

Review: AWESOME! I have no idea why people think this isn't as good as the first 3! If anything, it might even have been better! It was in no way worse. It was just as unputdownable as the rest of the series. I like the fact that this Selection was with guys rather than girls. I way prefer reading about guys' emotions than girls, I guess because it just makes me feel warm and fuzzy when they open up. And that's what made this book so awesome: the warm fuzzies! I really dislike Eadlyn, but I do really like her name. She's so spoilt and self-centered and defiant. (view spoiler)[And the first elimination was sooo harsh! She acted like she didn't give a stuff, when she was actually thinking that her parents would be happy for the way she went about it. Ugh! (hide spoiler)] I like the way each of the boys gives her something new, like she has a different connection with each one. I'm rooting for (view spoiler)[Henri or Erik (hide spoiler)] I think. (view spoiler)[I think Kile's just way too predictable. (hide spoiler)] I like the way (view spoiler)[Henri's so open because that's the only way he can show his emotions: through his facial features and actions. I think he was the only true contender for the exact reason being that he was never really a contender. She didn't need to watch herself around him, and he wasn't always dressed up for her. Whoa you DID go on a sprint xD I'm not going to quote all your questions because the message would be two pages long, so I'll try to remember everything or most of what you said :)

(view spoiler)[I don't like Hale because the way he started made me cringe (saying his family used to be a two...), I know that during their date he tried to make amends and honestly believe that he regretted his attitude, but I feel like he's your everyday preppy boy who tries to impress.

It was really hard for me to remember all the names, too! And linking them with their first entrance and the dates they had with Eadlyn... If that happens on the next book, I'm going to have to keep record on a notebook!!

I do want the selection to be over and to find out as of RIGHT NOW whom she chose, and I'd love to know more about the political situation. A constitutional monarchy (or parliamentery, I don't really know how they called it in the English edition of the book) is basically a king/queen who leaves the political resolutions to be done by politicians, and not themselves without asking the people. I believe it's fairer than what they have now. (hide spoiler)]

First thoughts (up to chapter 7);
I've heard awful things about Eadlyn (people said she was worse than America) so I expected I was gonna dislikeher, but she's not that bad. Sure, she has her moments, but I don't hate her. Hopefully, that doesn't change.
I like how it builds everything established on the previous books.

Do you have a favourite?
Every time a "new" name pops up, I have to take a moment and think (sometimes even search) about that guy, to remember if we know him or not, like with Holden. I know I don't miss much, but I wanna be informed.
Hale: (view spoiler)[I didn't like his introduction to Eadlyn when he got to the palace but I was happy with him for the rest of the book. He's sweet and she likes him. I felt bad for him when she bolted at the end of the date. (hide spoiler)]
Kile: (view spoiler)[I like him and I like all his interactions with Eadlyn. I wish they would have talking sooner, not only because of the Selection. It feels strange how they did not speak or interacted in any way after the kiss happened, but once they did again,
at the party, it was really nice. I'm looking forward to their date,

Henri: (view spoiler)[He has a bit of a disadvantage and I'm sorry about that. It must be dificult. She interacts more with Erik than him sometimes, but I cannot blame her since he's the one doing the talking. However, Henri has such a positive attitude! (hide spoiler)]
I sometimes feel like a couple of boys address Eadlyn too casually and come out a bit rude too. They're trying to win and get her to chose them, so I know they cannot be too formal, but sometimes it feels too much.

Ch3: So I'm not really sure if I like this story as much as the others or not. I read many reviews and many talked about how horrid Eadlyn was in the beginning. I'm not seeing that yet. I believe Kile will probably be cut, but end up winding his way back. I feel like something is going on with Eric and Henri. I think Eadlyn will be knocked down to size very quickly. Ch 24: Wow, this has gotten quite intense. I believe the Selection for Eadlyn has (view spoiler)[ made her realize, albeit slowly, how shallow she has become. I'm still often shocked that Maxon is Eadlyn's father. She is so different than he was. America may have been the same way if she had not been born a 5 and lived that lifestyle. But, on the otherhand, Maxon was so very different from his father.

He was completely selfish and could cause such tension with France. Just realized who Daphne was, and this seem like a dig at America. Although America's father and sister died young from heart problems, it never crossed my mind for something like this to happen to her. I loved seeing Maxon depending on Aspen after all this time.
