One of the first books I purchased when I got my first Nook was The Complete Sherlock Holmes. I quickly knocked off A Study in Scarlet and The Sign of Four. I am currently up to The Five Orange Pips. I do have a copy of W.S. Baring-Gould's The Annotated Sherlock Holmes on my shelves at home.
Some above have mentioned adaptations of Holmes in other media. I have in my LP collection a reading of The Speckled Band by Basil Rathbone. It is paired with his reading of The Final Problem which is the story in which Holmes finally confronts "The Napoleon of Crime." Essentially they were books on tape before tape and very well done.
