I am 20 pages into the book and am hooked! I would have been up all night reading it if my husband werent trying to sleep and my eyes werent crossing. I am really excited about this book because I loved Oryx and Crake.

I thought it was scary when Offred went to the store one day (in her 'old life') and tried to use her debit card to make a purchase but was told her number was invalid. Even though she had enough money in her bank account the government wouldn't let her spend her money, only her husband, Luke could.

That made me want to close my bank account and hide money under my mattress!
