Am about to start Lullaby for Morons by Ronald Keith Siegel.

I got about halfway through this before I had to return it to the library. It was a really great read, and I can't wait until it comes in again!

The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale, the retelling of an old fairy tale. A beautiful story.
Princess Academy by Shannon Hale, a young adult fantasy. It's a sweet story, and I'm looking forward to reading it with my daughter when she is a bit older.
Rebel Angels by Libba Bray, a dark historical fantasy. Excellent.
The Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray. Dark Fantasy.
The Prisoner by Carlos J. Cortes. Futuristic sci-fi.
Still on my list to read:
Princess of the Midnight Ball by Jessica Day George
In the Hand of the Goddess by Tamora Pierce
Into the Wild by Erin Hunter (to read with my kids)
The Lady and the Unicorn by Tracy Chevalier

After that I am going to start New World Monkeys A Novel next.
After that, back to some sci-fir or fantasy.

Currently working on Chandlefort by David Randall, the sequel to Clovermead which is pretty good teen fantasy. Not as mature in style as the Kiesha'ra books though.
I've also started Magus of Stonewylde by Kit Berry, a British author, which has a somewhat Wicker Man-esque scenario in which the main characters come across a reclusive, old-fashioned pagan community in the English countryside.

I started Ethan of Athos yesterday afternoon and it is proving to be a very quick read.
In planning for my trip to Texas this week, I'll take my three library books - City of Jade, Blindsight and the second Imager novel. I'll throw in a couple more paperbacks and maybe an audio book or two (for the long drive to Denton/Plano).

the second of his i've read and plan to read more

I've already read Mountains of Mourning and I agree completely. But I love it when I get all emotional with the characters and the story. I just keep the tissues handy. :)

When I was visiting my family over the summer I stopped by a used bookstore, found a copy of the hobbit and picked it up. I'd forgotten how much I loved that book.

Like this series quite a lot, but then I have a thing for pointed ears (crush on Spock when Startrek hit TV.) Anyway "The Elven Ways" series is fast paced with likable characters, evil doers to hate and not a bunch of filler.
I find too many fantasy books that have whole pages, in every other chapter just listing pointless stuff like dinner menus. What goes? Is there a word count for publishing these days?
